Chapter Thirty One

"what do you mean?" He didn't like that tone of voice but damn it was sexy.

"Oh, I'm different? well I guess I'm not the only one different today" she sarcastically said.

Agent Ross's eyes narrowed, his mind racing to keep up with Moselia's sudden change in tone. He didn't like the sarcasm, but he couldn't deny the spark it ignited within him.

"What's that supposed to mean?" he asked, his voice low and even, trying to keep his emotions in check.

Moselia finally looked up, her eyes flashing with a hint of defiance. "Oh, come on, Agent Ross. Don't play dumb. You know exactly what I'm talking about."

Agent Ross's gaze locked onto hers, the air thickening with tension. He knew he had to tread carefully, but Moselia's words had awakened a part of him he thought he'd long buried.

"I'm not playing dumb, Moselia," he said, his voice measured. "I just want to know what's going on in that head of yours."

Moselia's smile was a slow, sultry curve. "Maybe I've just realized that my agent isn't as transparent as I thought."

Agent Ross's eyes darkened, his heart racing with anticipation. He knew he was walking a thin line, but he couldn't help himself. He wanted to know what Moselia was thinking, what she was feeling.

He stood up and walked defiantly towards Moselia pinning her down to the cushion she was on, their distance awfully close.

"I've been honest with you right from the start, if there anything I've done tell me this instant"

He didn't like the way she talked even if it turned him in so badly, he didn't like her being mad and angry especially not at him.

Moselia's eyes flashed with surprise as Agent Ross towered over her, his face inches from hers. She could feel the heat emanating from his body, his intensity suffocating.

"You've been honest with me?" she repeated, her voice laced with skepticism. "Really, Agent Ross? Because from where I'm standing, it looks like you're hiding something."

Agent Ross's jaw clenched, his eyes burning with a fierce determination. "I've told you everything you need to know, Moselia. Don't play games with me."

Moselia's smile was a taunting whisper. "Oh, I'm not playing games, Agent Ross. I'm just trying to uncover the truth. And I always get what I want."

Agent Ross's face was a mask of controlled fury, his body taut with restraint. Moselia could see the struggle within him, the war between duty and desire.

"You're pushing me, Moselia," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "Don't push me too far."

Moselia's heart raced with excitement, her pulse pounding in her veins. She knew she was playing with fire, but she couldn't resist the thrill of the challenge.

"I'm just getting started, Agent Ross," she whispered, her lips inches from his.

He held her neck in a gentle chokehold and smiled.

"Is it because of my actions this morning?"

He finally realized where it was, as he looked at her and smiled.

His other hand gently grazing her lip.

He didn't know what suddenly made him bold but he liked a defiant fiesty Moselia more.

Moselia's eyes widened, her breath catching in her throat as Agent Ross's hand wrapped around her neck. But instead of fear, she felt a thrill of excitement. His touch was gentle, yet possessive, sending shivers down her spine.

"Yes," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "It's because of this morning. You were different, Agent Ross. Distant. Cold."

Agent Ross's smile grew, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I was trying to maintain my professionalism," he said, his voice low and husky. "But I think I failed miserably."

His thumb grazed her lip, sending sparks flying through her body. Moselia's heart raced, her pulse pounding in her veins.

"You're not very good at hiding your feelings, Agent Ross," she teased, her voice breathy.

Agent Ross's gaze locked onto hers, his eyes burning with intensity. "I think I'm getting better at showing them, though," he said, his voice dripping with seduction.

Moselia's lips parted, her body leaning into his touch. She knew she was playing with fire, but she couldn't resist the heat between them.

The moment her toungue touched his finger was when he realized just how dangerously this game he was playing was

His rationality kicked it and although not as cold as this morning

There was still hint of professionalism, as he stepped back.

Agent Ross's eyes flashed with a mix of surprise and alarm as Moselia's tongue made contact with his finger. He felt a jolt of electricity run through his body, and for a moment, his professionalism wavered.

But then, his training and rationality kicked in, and he swiftly stepped back, his hand retreating from Moselia's face. He cleared his throat, his expression composed once more, but with a hint of tension.

"I think we've gotten a bit...off track, Moselia," he said, his voice firm but measured. "Let's focus on your safety and the upcoming party, shall we?"

Moselia's eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze lingering on Agent Ross's face. She knew she had seen a glimmer of something more, something he was trying to hide. And she was determined to uncover it.

"Of course, Agent Ross," she said, her voice sweetly innocent. "I wouldn't want to distract you from your duties."

Agent Ross's eyes flickered, his jaw clenched, but he said nothing, his expression a mask of professionalism once more.

She stood up and left the place

"Let me not disturb your... Focusing... On the track" it was obviously sarcasm.

Agent Ross's eyes followed Moselia as she walked away, her sarcasm hanging in the air like a challenge. He knew he had to tread carefully, but he couldn't help feeling a spark of excitement at her boldness.

As she disappeared from view, he let out a slow breath, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn't quite process. He was a professional, trained to maintain control and composure. But Moselia was testing his limits, pushing him to the edge.

He shook his head, trying to clear the cobwebs. Focus, he told himself. You're here to protect her, not indulge in...whatever this was.

Agent Ross's inner monologue was interrupted by the sound of his comms device buzzing. He answered, his voice crisp and professional.

"Ross here."

"Agent Ross, this is Control. We've received intel that suggests a potential threat to Moselia's safety at the party tomorrow night."

Agent Ross's instincts kicked in, his mind snapping into high gear. "What kind of threat?"

"Not entirely clear, but we suspect an inside job. Someone close to the family may be compromised."

Agent Ross's eyes narrowed, his grip on the device tightening. "I'll increase security measures and run some checks. Keep me updated."

"Affirmative, Agent Ross. Keep her safe."

Agent Ross's gaze drifted back to the door Moselia had exited through, his expression grim. He would do whatever it took to protect her.

He walked up the stairs to Moselia's room when he heard screaming.

"Moselia!" Just before he could open the door, the door open and Moselia jumped on him.

They both fell down to the floor,

"Ross, cock... Cockroach" she stuttered.

He immediately took a gun and with straight accuracy he shot it down that even she was shocked.

It took a while before it registered in her mind that she was on top of him, straddling him so closely, her bracelet tangled in his hair.

Moselia's eyes widened as she stared at Agent Ross, her mind racing to process what had just happened. She was still straddling him, her body pressed against his, her bracelet tangled in his hair. She could feel his chest rising and falling beneath her, his eyes locked onto hers with an intensity that made her heart skip a beat.

Agent Ross's face was calm, but his eyes betrayed a hint of surprise, his pupils dilated slightly as he gazed up at her. He slowly reached up to untangle her bracelet from his hair, his fingers brushing against her skin, sending shivers down her spine.

Moselia's cheeks flushed as she scrambled off him, her heart racing with embarrassment. "I-I'm so sorry, Agent Ross," she stuttered, trying to compose herself.

His eyes never leaving hers. "No need to apologize, Moselia," he said, his voice low and smooth. "I'm just glad I could protect you from the...cockroach."

Moselia's laughter was nervous, her eyes darting away from his. "Y-yes, thank you," she said, trying to hide her embarrassment.

She tried to stand but kept on moving around until he held her waist firmly and closed his eyes, his breath shuddering.

"Stop... Moving around, it's dangerous"

She understood what he meant...

Moselia's eyes locked onto Agent Ross's face, her heart racing with a mix of excitement and fear. She knew exactly what he meant - that her movements were stirring up feelings he was trying to suppress.

She froze, her body tense, as his hands held her waist firmly. His eyes were still closed, his breathing ragged, and Moselia could feel the warmth of his breath on her skin.

For a moment, they stood there, suspended in time, the only sound Agent Ross's labored breathing. Moselia's pulse pounded in her veins, her mind racing with the implications of what was happening.

Slowly, Agent Ross's eyes opened, his gaze burning with intensity. "I'm sorry," he whispered, his voice husky. "I didn't mean to...I lost control."

Moselia's voice was barely audible. "It's okay," she whispered back. "I understand."

The air was thick with tension as they stood there, the only sound their ragged breathing. Agent Ross's hands still held Moselia's waist, his fingers burning with a gentle pressure.

Moselia's eyes locked onto his, her heart pounding in her chest. She could see the struggle within him, the war between duty and desire.

Without thinking, she reached up and gently brushed a strand of hair from his forehead. The touch sent shivers down her spine, and Agent Ross's eyes flashed with heat.

"I think we've gotten in over our heads," he whispered, his voice barely audible.

Moselia's smile was soft. "I think you might be right."

Agent Ross's gaze lingered on hers, his eyes burning with intensity. For a moment, they just stood there, suspended in time.

Then, with a quiet groan, Agent Ross released her waist and stepped back, his eyes never leaving hers. "I need to get out of here," he said, his voice husky. "Before I do something I regret."

He stopped and then turned back slightly.

"I'm also sorry for being inconsiderate about your feelings and hope you can forgive me, about this morning I mean, I want us... to go back to the way... We were" he said..

Moselia's heart skipped a beat as she gazed at Agent Ross, his words hanging in the air like a fragile promise. She saw the sincerity in his eyes, the vulnerability, and her defenses began to crumble.

"I forgive you," she whispered, her voice barely audible.

Agent Ross's face relaxed, his shoulders sagging in relief. "Thank you," he said, his voice soft.

Moselia took a step closer, her eyes locked onto his. "But I don't want to go back to the way things were," she said, her voice steady.

Agent Ross's gaze narrowed, his eyes searching hers. "What do you mean?"

Moselia's smile was gentle. "I mean, I want us to move forward. Together."

"alright" he whispered and went away.

Moselia watched as Agent Ross walked away, his figure disappearing into the shadows. She felt a mix of emotions swirling inside her - excitement, hope, and a hint of uncertainty.

She stood there for a moment, her heart still racing from their intense encounter. Then, she took a deep breath and turned back to her room, her mind whirling with thoughts of what lay ahead.

As she closed the door behind her, she couldn't help but wonder what Agent Ross had meant by his whispered "alright". Was he agreeing to move forward with her, to explore the spark between them? Or was it just a dismissal, a way to end the conversation?

She inhaled, then decided to go out, before Ross knew, in preparation for her plans tomorrow, so everything could go underway.

******************

As Zayn and Ross met, a strange sense of familiarity filled the air. They exchanged wary glances, both sensing a connection they couldn't quite place. Moselia watched with bated breath, her plan unfolding perfectly.

But little did they know, their reunion was being watched by sinister eyes. The truth began to unravel, and Moselia's life was thrown into danger.

With Zayn and Ross now united in their quest to protect her, they embarked on a heart pumping adventure. High-speed chases, narrow escapes, and cryptic clues led them on a wild goose chase.

As the stakes grew higher, Moselia found herself torn between her growing feelings for Ross and her loyalty to Zayn. The lines between friend and foe blurred, and the trio found themselves entangled in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

As the truth finally dawned on Moselia, she felt her mind reeling with the implications. Zayn and Ross, the two men she had grown to trust and care for, were actually the same person - identical twins created as part of the clandestine E1 and E2 project.

The revelation sparked a mix of emotions: shock, confusion, and a hint of wonder. She gazed at Zayn and Ross, seeing them in a new light. The similarities were unmistakable, yet their distinct personalities and experiences had shaped them into unique individuals.

With this newfound understanding, the trio pressed on, driven by their quest for freedom and answers. Their perilous journey culminated in a rendezvous with the enigmatic Erebus, a figure shrouded in mystery.

As they stood before Erebus, Moselia sensed a glimmer of hope. Perhaps, just perhaps, this encounter would mark the beginning of their liberation from the shadows of the E1 and E2 project.

"Welcome, Zayn, Ross, and Moselia," Erebus said, his voice low and gravelly. "I have been waiting for you. Together, we shall unravel the truth and shatter the chains that bind you."

With Erebus's words, a new chapter unfolded, promising a path toward freedom, self discovery, and the unification of fragmented identities. The journey ahead would be arduous, but Moselia knew she was no longer alone. United with Zayn, Ross, and Erebus, and new companions, she steeled herself for the challenges to come, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
