Daniel had been silent for a while, the only sound in the room was the rhythmic tapping of his pen against the table. Leo, leaning back on the sofa, stared up at the ceiling.
"Why did you do that?" Leo finally broke the heavy silence hanging in the air. "You could've just told the truth, like, 'I'm married, and Delilah? Barely someone I've ever met in my life.'" He scoffed, imagining Daniel saying that to the reporters.
"It's not that easy," Daniel said, putting the pen down and leaning back in his chair with a sigh. "I can't just blurt out the truth, Leo." The thought of Anastasia had been consuming his mind. He had been restraining himself from contacting her.
Leo tilted his head, glancing at Daniel with a raised brow. "Not that easy? Come on, man. It's just a few words to clear things up. You make it sound like you're holding a state secret."
