An Outsider

Liam hesitated, uncertain whether to hold back his feelings. But Thane's steady gaze seemed to invite honesty. "Alpha, I don't think it's right for Lycans to be mixing so freely with ordinary wolves. We're a strong pack with a long, proud lineage, and the wolves…they're different. They aren't like us."

Thane's lips curled into a slight smile as he listened, almost as if he had expected this response. "Different, yes," he agreed. "But they're here for a reason, Liam. The tournament is meant to be an opportunity, a gathering of strength from all packs. It is not our place to treat them as lesser."

Liam shook his head, frustrated but careful to remain respectful. "Alpha, with all due respect, these wolves aren't on our level. Many of them lack the discipline, the values that we hold so strongly. I don't want our legacy or Skylar's future to be tainted by the presence of those who don't understand what it means to be Lycan."
