D-DAY

AN S-CLASS Esper challenging one of the Top 5 wasn't new.

Hence, the Esper Association HQ built an indoor arena to make that kind of fight official.

In case of an official match between two S-Class Espers vying for a spot in the Top 5, representatives from the government, the Esper Association, and the National Guide Bureau would oversee the fight to make sure it was fair. Of course, the representatives were also there to ensure that no one would die.

After all, an S-Class Esper— natural or not— is a national treasure.

Guides, Espers, and Civilians were allowed to watch the match for free as long as they booked a seat in advance. But the seats were limited, so the reservation was competitive. Hence, most of the time, only the high-ranking Guides, Espers, and the rich could get the best seats.

But official matches are broadcasted live anyways.

Yuno used to watch official matches on his smartphone.
