A few days later, Xie Qianqian bought some gifts and took Liu Chen back to her childhood home.
Xie Qianqian's home was in the countryside, in a rather backward village. The village didn't even have a paved road. It was all bumpy and difficult to travel on. Liu Chen drove the car, attracting many curious looks along the way.
Xie Qianqian sighed, "It's been a long time since I last came back."
"How long?"
"Ten years!" Xie Qianqian frowned, her gaze fixed out the window. Everything she knew so well was still the same, unchanged.
Xie Qianqian signaled Liu Chen to stop the car in front of a dilapidated house. The place didn't even have a proper gate, just a few sparse fence bars. Liu Chen got out of the car and also helped Xie Qianqian down.
Xie Qianqian stood at the entrance, too scared to go in. A faint pain surged in her heart. Ten years ago, she had been pushed out through this very fence gate, crying and screaming!
