The afternoon Chinese and Western medicine exchange meeting took place in the grand conference room of the Shangri-La Hotel, where over a hundred well-known media outlets had already taken their places early in anticipation. Some smaller media reporters were turned away at the door; there simply wasn't room for too many people, as that would lead to chaos. With over a hundred renowned media outlets, there were about three hundred people gathered. Adding security personnel and some specially invited guests to the mix, there were five or six hundred people present, making for a significant event.
However, this time, the organizing department and some city leaders did not attend. They only sent a standing committee member and some officials to bolster the event.
