"Do you mind taking me out for a hunting session?" Theodor thought that Veronica couldn't complain anymore, he had mastered martial arts to a greater extent than her. Thus, it was time to venture out!
"Oh, sure, we can do that, do you have a mission?" Lilia asked in curiosity. Nobody would reject going out on a mission with their senior brother, the girls were competing to get quality time with him, and now he had offered himself on a platter of silver. Refusing? You must be joking!
Theodor, meanwhile, opened and closed his mouth like a confused fish. Indeed, he needed a reason to descend the mountain and risk himself, otherwise, there was no point in hunting down ferocious beasts. While it might be considered a sport, the sect had no such hobby.
"Uh… to gather medical herbs and practice Alchemy…" he made something up. Theo never witnessed Alchemy in this world, but he knew about the Milk Pill, and besides, it was a famous profession.
"But, Senior Brother, we don't have an Alchemy inheritance in our sect, how are you going to practice?" Lora asked dubiously, catching Theo off guard. He visited the library once to look around, but he only read books from a screen in his previous life, his attention span couldn't survive flipping physical pages. Thus, he never returned.
"Uh, okay, you got me. I have advanced to the peak of my stage, eating ferocious beast meat might help break through faster. Then, our sect will have four Body Refinement disciples," Theo came up with a better reason this time. In a sense, it was true. He needed cultivation years to improve, and hunting would grant him that.
"Oh, well, we can't eat everything on our own, so we can give what we can't finish to the sect for merit points," Shaia offered, "We will split it into five and give Senior Brother two portions while the rest of us can take one each, what do you think?"
"I agree," Lilia and Lora gave their blessings.
"Oh, how considerate, Junior Sister," Theo laughed and pulled Shaia to his side with a waist hug as they walked. "No need, split the merit points among you, I can get everything I want without the points," he dismissed their offer.
They were helping him, and he had no use for such rewards, everything the sect had was his to use. Thus, they should enjoy the benefits.
"That's right!" The three girls made a little 'o' with their mouths. They were a little jealous, but not in a mean way. Senior Brother's status was special, so they thought it was natural if the sect nurtured him.
Shaia didn't resist him, either, she just happily lowered his arm to her hips, making it more intimate before hugging him back.
"Senior Brother, let us make preparations tonight, and we can set out tomorrow morning. It's not good to stay in the mountains after dark, we should aim to set out early and return on the same day. We also need to pack food, water, extra clothing, supplies to start a fire, spices, and most importantly, weapons."
Theo felt his head spinning a little. He had only ventured to the city before where there was no need for any of those things mentioned above other than some water. Even worse, they didn't have a car for this field trip to leave the luggage, it had to be on their backs!
"Ah, how are we going to carry everything?" He asked dryly, looking at the girls' naked fingers.
"On our backs?"
Right, their sect was too backward to have a storage ring. Even the sect leader didn't have one.
'What if I just need to take a few steps outside and the system will go 'ding, hunt detected, does the host wish to spend a year hunting?', then I will earn a thousand years for the cost of one?'
Unfortunately, it was a wistful wish. If the system could work this way, he wouldn't even bother to live his life, the system would do it for him.
The girls mentioned the need for weapons, which made sense to Theo. Fighting beasts with bare hands would be silly given how strong their bodies are compared to humans.
'Sect Master, wait for me!' Theo immediately thought and ran back to the Sparring Arena to find Veronica.
In fact, Theo could do without an instructor. One of his unclaimed prizes was a weapon of his choice and a basic manual for that weapon. By claiming this reward and spending a few seconds on it, he could probably use the system to practice it for a year.
'But why should I waste my time learning Basic techniques? That would be too wasteful!'
Sadly, Veronica was gone by the time he returned. Only Maria remained behind, and a bunch of girls, all at the same stage as him, accompanied her for a session of training.
"Theo, you are back for more training?" Maria asked when she saw him come in.
"Yes, I searched for the sect leader to ask her questions about weapons. I thought to learn something, she could give me advice on what weapon to choose."
"Oh, that's easy! Only the sword is elegant, and we are a sect of women. We only have sword manuals!" Maria explained.
"Senior Brother, I have learned a new move with my sword recently, you can practice with me if you want to learn, I will accompany you day and night!" One girl immediately volunteered.
"Senior Brother, I have learned swordsmanship from my father before joining the sect, I could give you tips while you learn!"
Theo, however, stared incredulously at Maria, feeling she was a bit shameless. Their sect just opened without any foundation, and they didn't have enough manuals. Instead of admitting the sect's faults, Maria claimed that the elegant sword was the only suitable weapon for women.
The little gullible girls might believe her, but Theo didn't believe there weren't women practicing other weapons on Living Continent.
"Okay, but I need a weapon and a manual first. Does our sect have an Earth-grade technique?" He felt like expecting a Heaven-grade technique was too much.
"Earth grade? You sure know how to dream! We only have three techniques of the advanced grade, and they are all low-tier. Besides, you must learn the basics first, otherwise, even if you learn a Heaven-grade technique, it wouldn't display even half of its true potential."
Maria was experienced with kids who dream big. All the girls in the sect dreamt of conquering the heavens in one step, but cultivation was a long, arduous journey. If you didn't train day and night for many years, you would achieve nothing.
Theo, meanwhile, felt enlightened. 'Wait, not enlightened, that's an exclusive term for touching Veronica's butt,' he corrected himself. He felt learned.
"I will come with you, Senior Brother," One girl quickly dashed in his direction before Maria could stop her. The rest knew they would be blocked if they tried now, so they could only glare in envy.
"Thanks, Anya," Theo smiled at the curvy disciple.
Anya had a wider build despite not having too much extra fat. She had extra softness around her butt and breasts, making her one of the thicker ladies in the sect. Even though she only turned 19 that year, one could mistake her for 25 if judged by her perky assets alone.
"Hehe, let's go, Senior Brother," she hugged his arm, letting it nestle between her soft mounds. "Let's visit the armory first. The manuals are boring to read, I will demonstrate the movements directly for you," she whispered the last words in his ear right when they descended a staircase.
The motion made her breasts jiggle against his trapped arm, helping him imagine the bouncy picture of Anya practicing her sword, her fierce swings pulling her body with the rhythm of her art.
'She knows what she's doing!' Theo swallowed his saliva and tried to calm down the situation in his lower body. He almost considered asking her to join the hunting trip, but the voice of reason stopped him at the last minute, reminding him it might be dangerous. Although, being alone with her in the woods…
Ahm, safety first.
"Okay, let's visit the armory."
The armory was a simple square building made of wood with a disciple standing guard at all times, mainly as a formality.
"Senior Brother, did you come to spend time with me?" The guard asked cheerfully.
"Ahm, maybe next time, I'm here to get myself a sword," Theo felt a bit bad, but he couldn't satisfy the girl's wishes currently.
"Ow," she sighed, "Go in, Senior Brother, take the sword that fits you best."
Theo felt awkward when he remembered those words. Everything was of the same design and materials with only slight differences originating from the blacksmith's condition while working. There was no variety to choose from!
'Forget it, let's just summon the system's sword and say I found it here,' he shrugged. It would be an obvious lie, but what are they going to do about it?
