Kaiba glanced at the card in his hand, the corners of his mouth curling into a confident smirk.
There was no need to say anything.
The only card that could bring such a reaction from him was his favorite—Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
"Before the real battle begins, let's serve up some appetizers," he said, sliding the Blue-Eyes White Dragon into his hand before placing another monster onto his duel disk.
"I summon Vorse Raider, in attack position!"
A beastly warrior wielding a massive battle axe materialized in front of Kaiba. Its razor-sharp fangs glistened as it let out a low, guttural growl—ready to tear through anything in its path.
[Vorse Raider – ATK 1900]
As a Level 4 Normal Monster with an impressively high 1900 ATK, Vorse Raider was no ordinary card.
"Since I can't attack on the first turn, I'll set two cards face-down and end my turn."
Kaiba's sharp eyes locked onto Nami, burning with intensity.
"Come on! Show me your power!!!"
For a moment, Nami wondered if it was just her imagination, but ever since Kaiba appeared, he hadn't ended a single sentence with a period.
Maybe... this is just how strong people talk?
She could feel it—the overwhelming presence of Seto Kaiba. For the first time, the power within her seemed to waver, suppressed by the sheer force of his aura.
Even her ability to draw a card felt different.
Still, she wouldn't let that shake her.
"My turn! Draw!"
Nami looked at her hand and immediately frowned.
No monsters that could be normal summoned.
The corners of her mouth twitched involuntarily.
Kaiba's presence is really something else…
In terms of sheer pressure, if he were in the world of pirates, he'd easily be on the level of a Yonko!
This guy is no joke.
Realizing the situation, Nami's expression turned serious.
But even without a monster, she wouldn't be stuck.
After all—Pikachu and Butterfree far surpass even the Four Emperors!
"At this moment, since my field is empty, I activate the effect of the Spell Card—Poké Ball!"
Nami dramatically revealed the card from her deck.
"If there are no monsters on my field, I can add this card from my deck or graveyard to my hand!"
Because what kind of Trainer would I be without a Poké Ball?!
A single card shot out from her deck and landed in her palm.
Kaiba's eyes narrowed.
"What?! A card that activates directly from the deck!?"
He was momentarily stunned.
This... was an entirely different path of dueling than he had ever imagined.
But Nami wasn't done yet.
"I activate Poké Ball's second effect!" she declared.
"It allows me to Special Summon a Pokémon monster with 3 stars or lower from my deck or graveyard!"
"And the monster I choose is—Come out, Pichu!"
A small electric mouse bounced onto the battlefield, sparks crackling from its tiny cheeks.
[Pichu – ATK 1200]
"Pichu~!"
"Next, I activate Pichu's effect!" Nami continued.
"Once per turn, I can destroy one Spell, Trap, or Monster on the field!"
She pointed at Vorse Raider.
"And the card I'm destroying is—your Vorse Raider!"
"Pichu! Use Thunder Shock!!!"
Pichu clenched its tiny paws, summoning all the energy in its small body. A powerful bolt of lightning erupted from its cheeks, surging straight at Vorse Raider!
A bright flash engulfed the field as the beastly warrior was obliterated on the spot!
Kaiba's monster was gone in an instant.
Nami clenched her fist.
Time to press the attack.
"Pichu, attack Kaiba directly!"
"Use Thunder Shock again!!!"
"Hmph! That level of attack was completely within my expectations!" Kaiba smirked, his coat billowing as he waved his hand.
"Trap Card – Counter Gate, activate!"
A shimmering barrier of light formed in front of him, absorbing Pichu's attack entirely.
"This Trap negates your direct attack," Kaiba explained smugly, "and in exchange, I get to draw one card from my deck!"
He plucked a card from his deck with his usual flair, his confidence unshaken.
Nami's expression tightened.
"As expected of you," she muttered.
Even with Pichu's ability, Kaiba had already anticipated her moves.
Still, it wasn't a bad turn.
"I set one card and end my turn."
Kaiba grinned.
"My turn!"
With a swift motion, he drew a card. His eyes gleamed as he looked at it.
A confident smirk spread across his face.
"It seems," Kaiba said dramatically, "that the goddess of victory has already decided the outcome of this duel!"
He slammed a card onto his duel disk.
"I activate the Spell Card—Graceful Charity!"
"This lets me draw three cards, then discard two from my hand!"
Kaiba swiftly executed the effect, his smirk growing even more arrogant.
"And now..." he continued, "I activate the Spell Card—Monster Reborn!"
A powerful gust of wind surged through the field as a bright light enveloped his graveyard.
"The monster I choose to bring back… is one I just sent to the graveyard with Graceful Charity."
"Return to the field—BLUE-EYES WHITE DRAGON!!!"
Kaiba spread his arms wide, his blue eyes flashing with unrestrained excitement.
His voice rose in intensity, nearly a roar of its own.
"Come forth, my ultimate servant!!!"
A thunderous roar shattered the air.
"OOOOUUUUGGGHHH!!!"
A mighty whirlwind erupted, sending dust and debris flying as if the battlefield itself was preparing for the arrival of a Dragon King.
And then—
From the heavens, a massive white dragon descended, its sapphire eyes burning with unmatched ferocity.
The sheer pressure of its presence sent shockwaves through the battlefield.
Kaiba stood firm in the face of the mighty beast, his expression fierce.
[Blue-Eyes White Dragon, Attack Power 3000]
"Blue-Eyes White Dragon? Now that's a powerful card!"
As the majestic dragon appeared on the field, Nami's eyes gleamed like gold coins. It was the same look she had whenever she spotted treasure.
"If I traded this, it'd easily fetch over 20,000 points..."
Rather than being intimidated by the legendary dragon, Nami was already calculating its value.
"Huh?"
For a moment, Kaiba felt an inexplicable chill run down his spine. It was absurd—he had just summoned his Blue-Eyes White Dragon, yet he suddenly felt as though he were being hunted.
Shaking off the ridiculous thought, he straightened up, his arrogance swelling as he thrust his hand forward.
"Destroy everything in your path! White Lightning!"
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon opened its mighty jaws, a blinding energy beam rapidly condensing within its mouth. Then, in a brilliant explosion of power, it unleashed the devastating attack toward Pichu, aiming to obliterate it in an instant.
"Hahahaha!"
Kaiba laughed maniacally, already picturing Pichu's pitiful cries as it was swallowed by the white light.
But Nami simply shook her head.
"Oh no, what a terrifying attack," she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Too bad it's useless."
"What?"
Kaiba's smirk faltered. His expression darkened.
Nami pointed at her field, a playful glint in her eyes.
"At this moment, I activate one of Pichu's effects! When it's targeted for an attack, I can add [Quick Dodge!] from my deck to my hand!"
She swiftly revealed a card that had just popped into her hand.
"And now, I activate [Quick Dodge!]—negating your attack!"
"Pichu! Use Dig!"
With a determined expression, Pichu's tiny body tensed before it suddenly burrowed underground, vanishing in an instant.
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon's energy blast struck empty ground, sending a violent shockwave through the air—but Nami's field remained untouched.
As the dust settled, Pichu peeked out from the hole, its bright eyes scanning the battlefield before fully emerging.
"Tch!"
Kaiba clicked his tongue. "I should've known."
By now, he was no longer shocked by Nami's uncanny ability to pull cards straight from her deck. He had watched her duels before. Besides, he himself possessed... abilities beyond explanation.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Kaiba placed the three remaining cards in his hand onto the field.
"I set three cards face-down and end my turn."
"Perfect! Now it's my turn to strike back!"
Nami grinned, swiftly drawing her next card.
"Pichu! Use your effect to destroy one of his face-down cards!"
She pointed toward Kaiba's leftmost set card.
"Pichu, use Thunder Shock!"
A bolt of lightning crackled through the air, striking Kaiba's face-down card and shattering it into pieces.
Without missing a beat, Nami followed up with another move.
"And now, I activate Pichu's secondary effect! Since it's been on the field for a full turn, I can tribute it to Special Summon a Pikachu from my deck!"
"Pichu, evolve!"
A familiar glow surrounded Pichu as its small form grew and transformed. Within moments, a confident Pikachu took its place, sparks dancing along its cheeks.
[Pikachu, Attack Power 1600]
Nami wasted no time.
"Pikachu's ability activates! Once per turn, it can destroy one Spell, Trap, or Monster on your field!"
Her finger shot toward Kaiba's board.
"I choose... your rightmost face-down card and your Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"
"Now, Pikachu—use Thunder!"
BOOM!
The sky darkened in an instant. Heavy black clouds loomed over the city, swirling like a storm about to erupt.
Electricity crackled between the clouds, snaking through the heavens like golden dragons.
Then, with an ear-splitting crack, two massive bolts of lightning struck the battlefield.
Time seemed to freeze. The world was reduced to nothing but those two blinding streaks of thunder.
"Ooooaaarghhh!!!"
The Blue-Eyes White Dragon let out an anguished roar, its mighty form writhing under the relentless assault of Pikachu's thunderbolts. But no matter how strong it was, it couldn't withstand the attack. With one final cry, the legendary dragon shattered into light and vanished from the field.
"Damn it!"
Kaiba clenched his teeth, watching as his beloved dragon was obliterated in an instant.
So far, Kaiba had only one set card on his field—and no monsters left.
Nami was now free to launch a direct attack.
But, of course, she wasn't going to stop there.
She had already noticed that, despite the immense power hidden within Kaiba, he had yet to fully control it.
Not that it mattered to her.
From the very beginning, Nami's goal had been the same—to plunder the original power of this world.
Poor Seto Kaiba. Don't think for a second that she's bullying you.
Blame the world for this.
"I activate the Ritual Spell Card—[Gigantamax Evolution]!"
"The effect of this card allows me to select a Level 4 or higher Pokémon monster on my field, send it to the graveyard, and then Special Summon its max evolution form from my hand, deck, or graveyard!"
Nami's grin widened.
"Mr. Seto Kaiba, allow me to show you the true power of Pokémon!"
"Pikachu—Giganta Max Evolution!"
A shimmering projection of Pikachu's Gigantamax form appeared behind it, radiating an overwhelming energy.
Then, in an instant, an immense surge of power erupted from Nami's card, flooding into Pikachu's small body.
Pikachu's form began to expand rapidly. Its size dwarfed the surrounding skyscrapers, transforming it into an adorable yet terrifying giant monster!
[Giganta Pikachu – Level 8, ATK 3000, DEF 5000]
"Pi…ka…Pi…ka…"
The sound rumbled from above like rolling thunder. But to Kaiba, it felt like a voice from the depths of hell.
He stared up at the colossal Pikachu, his eyes widening in disbelief.
Its attack power… was only equal to that of his Blue-Eyes White Dragon.
And yet, for some reason, Kaiba felt an overwhelming sense of dread radiating from the creature.
As expected, Nami wasn't done yet.
She pulled another card from her hand and slammed it onto her duel disk.
"I activate the Equip Spell—[Electric Bead]!"
"This card can be equipped to any monster with 'Pikachu' in its name, doubling its attack power!"
[Giganta Pikachu – ATK 3000 → 6000]
"And now—Giganta Pikachu, attack the opponent directly!!!"
Nami's voice was filled with excitement as she commanded her ultimate move.
At this moment, Kaiba had only one set card left on his field.
If he couldn't stop this attack, he would lose the duel.
Which also meant…
Nami would get to choose a card from his deck.
The thought made her smile grow even brighter.
Blue-Eyes White Dragon?
Sure, that was one of her targets, but there was something else in Kaiba's deck she wanted even more.
If she could get her hands on that card, her earnings from this duel would easily exceed six figures!
However—just as Giganta Pikachu was about to unleash its attack, Kaiba, who had been panicking just moments ago, suddenly smirked.
"Hmph… did you really think it would be that easy to defeat me? You're too naïve!"
"Open face-down card—[Shrink]!"
"This card allows me to halve the attack power of one face-up monster on the field for this turn!"
A massive tightening effect suddenly enveloped Giganta Pikachu, and its attack power was instantly reduced.
[Giganta Pikachu – ATK 6000 → 3000]
Although still formidable, it was no longer strong enough to end the duel in one blow.
And in this world, as long as a duelist has even a single Life Point left, there is always the chance for a miraculous comeback!
BOOM!
Thunder roared as Giganta Pikachu's lightning struck Kaiba, crackling through the air like the wrath of a god.
This was supposed to be a mere projection battle—yet Kaiba let out a cry of pain.
His clothes sizzled, dark burn marks appearing as if he had been scorched for real.
The storm passed, the energy finally dispersing.
Kaiba's Life Points plummeted.
[Seto Kaiba – LP 4000 → 1000]
"Oh?"
Nami raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised.
"You actually managed to survive that round?"
She chuckled, then, without hesitation, ended her turn.
Her eyes sparkled with amusement.
