Fear And Shame

Alexander's face hardened as he watched the camera footage. His worst fears had been confirmed. There was no sign of Amber leaving the bar through the front door. His anger began to bubble up inside of him again, but he kept it tightly reigned in, allowing only a fraction of it to show on his face. He turned to Mr. Martin, his eyes like cold steel, and spoke again, his voice low and dangerous.

"Where did she leave from?" he asked in a sharp voice, his eyes flicking back and forth between Mr. Martin and the now, clearly damning, security camera footage. He didn't wait for a response, his impatience evident in his tone.

Mr. Martin shifted uncomfortably, his nervousness growing with every second that passed, under the weight of Alexander's fierce glare. He knew better than to keep the man waiting for an answer, even though he had no idea how to explain this inexplicable mystery.
