Hating on Thamo

The next day, Avon woke up to the alarm reluctantly. He did not get sufficient sleep and was feeling tired even after waking up. Yet, without wasting time, he got up, brushed his teeth and washed his face and quickly began working out. After an hour of intense exercise he took a bath of cold water and then got ready to go to the academy.

'I rarely used to exercise, but now it's a part of my routine. This definitely because of master's training.

Ahhhhh...but because exercising daily the first thing in the morning and reading all that theory is killing my sleep..'

Avon was actually interested in learning the theory, because he wanted to learn more about the universe and in the classes many laws of nature were discussed and proven and disproven through various methods. Again in the class, Avon barely understood anything as they were in the middle of the 7th lesson. He tried to understand but it ended up making his mind a mess. At the end he was just dumbfounded as though how he anything barely went into his head.

He needed to quickly learn the language too. Less than two weeks were left. Learning a language within weeks is practically impossible but he had no choice.

Then Sylvia approached him and said,"I can see that you are struggling with the theory classes. Do you need my help?"

"Thanks, but I have already found a tutor just yesterday. So I will be learning from that person. You have helped me enough already."

"Oh, who is your tutor? "

"Do you know a person named Aveline?"

"I do not..."

"Oh, she works in the academy but I don't what she is, whether a lecturer or a researcher."

"Ohh is that so. Well as long you are okay with it"

"She teaches really well actually. I will catch up with you guys soon"

Sylvia raised an eyebrow in disbelief, deciding not to demotivate him she said,

"Is that so. Then see you later. Good luck"

Saying so Sylvia left and Avon headed towards Aveline's house. He reached in about half an hour and rang the bell. She opened the door and said, "I was waiting for you. Come on in."

To Avon's surprise she was wearing casual clothes rather than the formal attire he always saw here in. For the first time he saw how thin her waist was and how beautiful her figure was. It was just perfect. The only other person with a figure of this level he had seen was that of Reveria. On a deeper comparison Reveria was better. All this happened within just two seconds in Avon's head.

He quickly put an end to these thoughts and then he and Aveline started with the class for the day. Again they took a break in between and Avon said,"This speed isn't enough....I wish I could study faster....*sigh*.."

Hearing that Aveline said,"Why don't you increase your mind cultivation levels. They increase your comprehension capabilities. You'll be able to grasp faster."

"...I forgot about that..I will focus on that from now"

Reveria had taught about this to Avon and Laia. He had actually forgotten about it since past few days he was focused first on combat and now something else. He gave a casual reply as though he knew what Aveline was talking about but inside he was cursing himself as to how he forgot about it.

"Do you know what mind cultivation does to your brain?"

"Hm? I don't..."

Reveria hadn't explained it yet. She said she would once Avon and Laia would advance a little in cultivation but because of the heretics she couldn't.

Seeing that Avon didn't know Aveline started to explain.

"You are aware that our brain has nuerons and nueral pathways right? So mind cultivation helps increase the pathways making the thought process smoother. After a certain level of growth due to cultivating, the brain then evolves. It evolves into a more efficient version of itself and even our control on our mind increases and also the connection of your mind and body is enhanced. This helps in better control of our body. That is why mind cultivation is a must. The better your level in mind cultivation the better you can learn new things. Someone like the knight can graps half of your syllabus within a few hours easily even if he is reading it for the first time."

Avon was surprised to hear this, it intrigued him so much that he had an amusing smile on his face thinking of all the possibilities cultivation unlocked for a human.

"I see, so that is what happens. This is so interesting. I didn't know humans could undergo evolution due to cultivating. Well, then I will continue mind cultivating faster so that I can finish this faster. "

"Good good. There are actually many amusing things you are not aware about but it will be better for you to experience it and learn. Anyways, how are your classes going on. What about your classmates?"

"Hmmm..well most of them are good people, I think. Sylvia is the only friend I made so far. Whereas my this guy called Thamo hates me to the core."

"Thamo Jyron?"

"Yes him"

"What happened? Why have you made an enemy out of him?"

"I didn't make him my enemy. He is just a jealous prick who is unhappy that I am better than him."

Aveline raised an eyebrow hearing this,"Really? tell me what exactly happened"

"Oh nothing big. I passed the mind cultivation test. That shocked him and he tried to force my method out of me. I simply worked hard and don't really have a method, still I didn't tell him that because I didn't like his tone."

"His tone?"

"He was commanding me as if I'm his servant who is obliged to answer him. So I refused to answer and then he lost it and attacked me but Sylvia helped me out. He got even angrier as to why she was helping me. Asking me as if I had N-45 or something installed in me...."

"You finished a level in mind cultivation already?"

"4 actually."

For the first Avon saw shock on Aveline's face. With her eyebrows raised and her voice slightly excited she spoke,

"What? How?that is unprecedented!"

Not knowing how to answer that he casually made a noise.

"Hmmmmmm"

"Why are you so casual about it?"

She said slightly agitated. To that he replied in a flat voice,

"I am not even close to my goal. So I am not content with this. "

Not satisfied with his answer, she decided to ask him about the things he was hiding,

"Why do you push yourself so much?Just why are you in such a rush?"

He looked her in the eye, after a bit of consideration he said,

"I will tell later ."

Looking at his calm demeanor she decided to cool off too,

"Fine fine. Let me tell you something. Since the last hundred years, the first student to proceed to the next level is always either a Stella or a Jyron. So you doing it this year might be a big shock for them."

This gave Avon an idea about why things were how they were, but he didn't really care,

"Ohh is that so. Such things happened huh. Thamo is clearly going to set new standards for his family. Jyron family will be number one, no doubt, when viewed from the bottom of the list. Lower than trash."

Aveline was shocked to hear the polite Avon make such a statement, after a moment's silence she laughed in amusement, she was actually surprised at how Avon hated Thamo. Since Avon didn't tell her that Thamo almost killed him she didn't know about that. Then Aveline suggested that they continue to study and then after finishing the day's session Avon returned to the craft.

He was very tired but decided to increase his mind cultivation further more. He wanted his brain to evolve as soon as possible. He didn't know how far he was form that point but he had to try. Like that he cultivated the entire night and soon it was time to leave for the academy.

'I got no sleep at all. I'm a goner today.'
