Orion strode towards the dungeon, his steps steady but his mind clouded with anticipation. Jaxon walked beside him, quiet as always, but his presence was grounding. When they reached the entrance, the guards stationed there straightened and bowed slightly.
"Lord Jaxon. Lord Orion," they respectfully greeted them.
Jaxon nodded in acknowledgment but stopped short of following Orion inside. He folded his arms and leaned against the wall.
"I'll wait here," Jaxon said calmly, his eyes fixed on Orion.
Orion turned to him with a soft sigh, already knowing what this was about. "Jaxon, we're married now. You shouldn't keep avoiding meeting her."
Jaxon gave him a faint, almost wistful smile. "I'm not avoiding her. I just don't want to ruin this for you. She's... still adjusting. It's better this way."
Orion tilted his head, his gaze warm but firm. "She's not the same person she used to be. You know that. Just give her a chance."
