Chapter 8

Lisa's POV

The rings on his fingers glistened underneath the warm bulb present outside the little bar.

He was the man I had spotted earlier with the weird aura, what are the odds?, I rushed towards him, attempting to help him up but he shoved me.

"Stay away from me your crazy lady"

Well that hurt my pride, I stayed back, then waited for him to groan in pain till he felt calm enough to finally get back on his feet, then he forced himself up. His eyes bawled with anger as he stared at me.

His eyes went straight to my feet, then back at my eyes, he seemed somewhat defensive, like he feared I was going to hit him again.

"Sorry" I whispered apologetically.

"Yea right," he rolled his eyes, dusted his clothes and was about to walk away when I followed him, his aura was magnetic, I could not not let him walk away so freely, mostly because I was curious about who he was, but on the other hand I was sorry to have kicked him so hard.

"See I didn't mean to hit you that hard I promise, I was just shocked, and you won't blame me for it,  you can't just approach a lady like that"

"It's an open place, and guys approach ladies like that all day, no one is going to kidnap you here you know?, and even if they wanted to, you would have bursted their sacks open"

I grinned, I felt powerful. All thanks to a year  mastering self defense, but still, I followed him, I needed to find out who he was.

"Well maybe you should have approached me from the front rather than sneaking behind me"

"Go fuck yourself, I don't care" he responded.

"Well I have apologized, and I believe it's enough so go fuck yourself too" he was blaming me for everything, when he was the one who had approached me, I should be the one pissed at him.

"Yes I will, and I hope you do too" with that being said, we parted ways, it was the weirdest night ever, having to fight with a stranger on the first day of returning home.

Oh well.

Soon I was back to my lodge, totally worn out. It was eleven in the evening, and the children were asleep. Their nanny was on the bed beside them, I could not help but stare at their cute faces.

I had to bid them a proper good night before I went to bed, so I reached out for them. Maisy spooned Daisy on her bed, while Daisy held her doll. They looked so good together, I could almost cry.

I ran my fingers through their hair, my hands crossed below their chin, as I played with their lips, I might cry all day, but the sight of them was everything I needed to remain sane.

I covered them properly with the duvet, then placed a kiss on their faces before I retired to my room, I could not afford to stay up all night, I had a long day ahead of me, and I had to be mentally prepared for it.

Getting to the room, I pulled out my glasses, hat, then my dress, now I stood in the room, almost butt naked, with my lacy dark underwear and a strap bra.

The mirror before me reflected the scars on my back, they were healed around but the scars had been there for so long.

The cut was so deep that it would take longer than five years to completely vanish. It might never go away, but every time I saw it, I traced my fingers on it, then I let them. I let the pattern drive me back to what reality had always meant to  me.

The memories were still very fresh.

I was rushed to the hospital after I woke up, the heavens had saved me that I was rescued, but the impact of the water in my brain caused so much damage , and my chances of survival was so little, I was sent into the surgery room almost immediately .

When my hair was shaved off and I was placed in a coma, so much donation was made just to get me into a stable condition, I woke up in about a month, and when I finally did, I had lost my memory.

The doctors kept me while the state funded my treatment, three months and I showed no sign of recovery.  I was diagnosed with rare sociopathic conditions, as I was too bland to be human.

The doctor had ran test on my brain and it was diagnosed that the only emotion registered was fear, and anger. For someone who didn't know her name, why would I be angry? Well that was what I remembered, and that was what I was told.

Four months and no one had filed a missing person report, so basically I was a waste of charity, then one day, while I was asleep I felt a napkin on my nose, I struggled to breath but my lungs couldn't hold on for long and soon enough I fell unconscious.

Carried across the town, and that was how I found myself in Tokyo.

Four months pregnant, in the hands of human traffickers who wanted to sell my baby and use me as a poll for surrogacy, I was placed in a room after they arrived at their destination. It was dark, very dark.

I screamed and fought the shadows. It kept crawling in my mind. I was going crazy, they would enter once a day to feed me, I didn't see their faces…

"Mummy, I had a nightmare"

"Oh my baby" Maisy walked up to me, she tugged on my dress, her eyes were wet with tears as she pulled me in for a hug, my heart welled with emotions as I pulled her in for a hug then lifted her from the floor, I placed a kiss on her forehead then carried her to the bed.

"The monsters can't reach you my love, mummy got you" I began to pat her, I had wrapped my hands around her and she snuggled in my embrace, till she fell asleep.

When I was certain she was deep in sleep, I pulled myself away from her grip, went into the bathroom, then took my bath before returning to bed. A few minutes later Daisy was on the bed, she must have noticed her sister wasn't there and her first thought was to come over.

Now I was on the bed, with both of them spooning each other again, and together we slept till the next morning.

•••

"Hey take it gently!, I don't want anyone of you choking on your pancakes"

"They are super hyper ma'am, a date at the park can not be traded for anything" Steph, their nanny said as she walked up to me.

She was a really great lady, but there was just something about her that made it hard for me to hold a stable conversation, and maybe she understands it too as she barely makes long talk with me.

"Yes true, I am eager too, can't wait" and there it went, the end of our conversation, we went our separate ways as we prepared to take the children out of the house, and when that was done, we drove all the way out of the house, then to the park.

I was supposed to go sightseeing for our new home. I got a couple of agents willing to show me what their best offer was, and all I had to do was give them my time, and I was going to do that right! After I spend time with my babies.

"Mom, let's go on the rollercoaster, grandma and grandpa never let us ride one!"

"No, your mom is afraid of height" as embarrassing as it sounds, I would never want to act brave on a rollercoaster.

They were jumping and yelling to try out new activities, all through, I was screaming and dancing, we went ahead to toss darts, I won three teddy bears, one for Steph, and two for the little kids.

Then to the cotton candy, some fun activities with other kids,  and a ton of brain freezing ice cream. Three hours was only a little time to spend with the kids, but my time had elapsed and it was time to go.

"Meet you guys at the lodge" I kissed the kids goodbye then left afterwards.

The drive down town took me about twenty minutes, I had three houses to check out, so I went to the one closer, the agent was a lady named scarlet, slightly chubby, curvy and so far the nicest lady in New York, but unfortunately, the house… I didn't like it.

There weren't enough spaces for the children to have the garden I had promised to build for them, and a space for a pool too.

I wished to maintain the life they had known, and knowing I had been blessed with finance. It wouldn't hurt to spend it, would it?

Nah…

Second house had the space, but the interior design wasn't what I wanted. It didn't speak much presence to me like the first house, I was almost losing hope, and I could almost bet my life on it that the third house wasn't going to be any different than the last two.

And to top the cake with a little icing, whoever was supposed to show me this house was delaying me, thirty minutes passed and I was stuck halfway to my journey, because of some fucked up human who couldn't keep up to time.

"I am at the location you wanted me to wait for you sir, would you please hurry up, I hate waiting," I sent a voice message after calling twice.

Next twenty minutes a car pulled up in front of me, with tinted glasses, I could not see who it was, but I was certain it was the man I had been waiting for all along.

"Can we go now?" He yelled

So rude, rolling my eyes I entered my car and I followed him through the traffic till we arrived at the assigned house.

The facade of the house looked perfect, well I hope the interior doesn't ruin it, I was already pissed off, and a little dent would cause me to flame up.

I stepped out of my car, while the man stepped out of his, and as we turned to greet each other, a wave of familiarity struck us.

It was the man from the bar.

"What are the odds?"
