Author's POV
The weekend arrived with a sense of anticipation that neither Selene nor Callista could fully understand. For Selene, the days leading up to the art exhibit had been filled with nervous energy and an inexplicable sense of urgency. She knew that something significant was about to happen, something that would change her life forever.
Callista, on the other hand, had been restless, unable to focus on her work. She could feel something in the air, a charged atmosphere that made her heart race every time she thought of the upcoming exhibit. She didn't know why, but she had a strong feeling that this event would be different from any she had experienced before.
Selene's POV
The day of the exhibit finally arrived. I woke up with my heart pounding in my chest, the dreams of Callista more vivid than ever. She had been so close, her presence so palpable, that I could still feel her warmth lingering in my room. After a quick shower, I dressed in a simple yet elegant outfit—something that felt right for the occasion but wouldn't draw too much attention. I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but I knew I needed to be there. Theo was waiting for me outside my apartment, his usual easygoing demeanor replaced with a curious glance as I approached.
"You seem nervous," he observed, falling into step beside me.I forced a smile, trying to hide the mix of emotions swirling inside me.
"Just excited to see some new art, I guess."Theo raised an eyebrow but didn't press further.
"Well, I'm glad you invited me along. It's been a while since we did something like this."
We made our way to the gallery, the city's usual hustle and bustle seeming distant and muted today. As we approached, I could feel my heart rate pick up, the familiar sense of urgency returning. The gallery was already filling with people when we arrived. The soft hum of conversation and the gentle clinking of glasses provided a soothing backdrop to the vibrant paintings that adorned the walls. I scanned the room, my eyes searching for a face I had only ever seen in my dreams.
Callista's POV
I had been at the gallery since early morning, making sure everything was perfect for the exhibit. Jasper had been by my side, offering words of encouragement and helping with last-minute adjustments. But despite the excitement of the event, I couldn't shake the feeling that today was significant for reasons beyond my understanding.
As guests began to arrive, I made my rounds, greeting old friends and potential buyers with polite smiles. But my mind was elsewhere, constantly drawn to the thought of Selene—the woman who had occupied my dreams and thoughts for so long. And then, as I stood by one of my favorite pieces, I felt it—a shift in the air, a familiar presence.I turned, my breath catching in my throat as my eyes locked onto hers from across the room.
Selene.
Selene's POV
Time seemed to slow as our eyes met. It was her. It was really her. She was even more beautiful in person, with a presence that seemed to command the entire room. For a moment, I couldn't move, couldn't think, couldn't breathe. It was as if the world had narrowed down to just the two of us, everything else fading into the background.Theo nudged me, snapping me out of my daze.
"Is that…?"I nodded, not trusting myself to speak. I had no idea how to explain any of this to him, or to myself for that matter. All I knew was that I had to go to her. Without another word, I made my way across the room, my steps steady even though my heart felt like it was about to explode out of my chest. When I finally stood in front of her, it felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room. We stared at each other for what felt like an eternity, neither of us saying a word.
Callista's POV
She's real. She's standing right in front of me. I had imagined this moment a thousand times in my dreams, but nothing could have prepared me for the reality of it. I could feel the connection between us, a thread that had been pulling us together for as long as I could remember. Finally, I found my voice, though it came out as a whisper.
"Selene?"Hearing her name on my lips seemed to break the spell. She smiled, a small, tentative smile that made my heart skip a beat.
"Yes," she replied softly.
"Callista?"The sound of my name in her voice sent a shiver down my spine. This was real. She was real.
Selene's POV
Standing there, face-to-face with Callista, I felt like I was on the edge of something monumental, something that went beyond anything I could have ever imagined. All the dreams, the inexplicable feelings—they had led me here, to this moment.
"I've been looking for you," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't know if you were real."
"I've been looking for you too," Callista replied, her eyes never leaving mine. "I've felt you in my dreams for as long as I can remember."
We stood there, lost in each other's gaze, the rest of the world fading away. It was as if everything had fallen into place, as if we had finally found what we had been searching for all along.
"I think we have a lot to talk about," I said, finally breaking the silence.Callista nodded, a soft smile playing on her lips.
"Yes, I think we do."
Author's POV
As they stood together, a sense of peace and understanding washed over them. This was only the beginning of their journey, but already they could feel the significance of their meeting. The dreams, the connection, the pull that had brought them together—it was all leading to something neither of them could fully comprehend yet. But one thing was certain: their lives would never be the same again. The line between dream and reality had been blurred, and together, Selene and Callista were about to embark on a journey that would challenge everything they thought they knew about themselves, each other, and the world around them.
And as they walked out of the gallery, side by side, they couldn't help but wonder what the future held. But whatever it was, they knew they would face it together.
