Chapter 78: Shadows in the Office

After settling back home, Ethan and Olivia kept a low profile. Alex and Linda had already contacted their sources to gather as much information as possible about the current state of Pierce Enterprise, Carter Couture, and Eva Enterprise. It didn't take long for the pieces to fall into place.

Mathew had taken over the companies, and it appeared that he had partnered with Alexander Quinn, an old business rival. Ethan's name had been erased from the public eye, and Patrick was nowhere to be found. However, they knew the truth. Patrick had taken Ethan's place, deceiving everyone after learning about the will.

Ethan remained cautious, still hiding his identity from the public as they formulated a plan. They needed to act strategically, to take back control without alerting their enemies.

But they couldn't wait forever. Olivia had a fire burning inside her, a determination that had grown over the years. She was ready to fight for what was hers, and for what was rightfully Eva's.

One afternoon, as they gathered at the house, Olivia made a decision.

"I'm going to confront Mathew," she announced, her voice resolute.

Ethan's eyes flickered with concern. "Liv, are you sure? He's dangerous. He's been controlling the company for years now."

"I know," she replied, "but I can't sit back and let him destroy everything. Carter Couture was built by my family, and Eva Enterprise is for our daughter. I won't let them take that from us."

Ethan nodded, understanding her determination. "We'll go together."

"No," Olivia said firmly, "you stay hidden. We can't risk them figuring out you're alive just yet. I'll handle Mathew."

Reluctantly, Ethan agreed, knowing that Olivia was more than capable of standing her ground.

The next day, Olivia marched into the office of Carter Couture. She hadn't been there in years, but the building still felt like home. The moment she stepped inside, heads turned. Employees whispered among themselves, shocked to see her return after so long.

Mathew was sitting in his plush office chair when Olivia barged in.

"Mathew," she said, her voice steady, but her anger barely contained.

Mathew looked up from his desk, a smug smile curling on his lips. "Olivia. What a surprise."

"This is my company," Olivia stated, her eyes blazing with determination. "I want it back."

Mathew laughed, leaning back in his chair. "You've been gone a long time. Things have changed. Carter Couture is mine now, and there's nothing you can do about it."

"We'll see about that," Olivia said, her voice like steel.

The battle for control had begun.

News of Olivia's return spread like wildfire. Within days, it was clear that Jenna, Martha, and Mathew were growing nervous. They had spent years solidifying their control, and now everything was at risk.

Jenna, always the manipulator, tried to sow discord by sending threatening letters to Olivia, warning her to back off. But Olivia wasn't intimidated. She had fought too hard to be scared off now.

Ethan, meanwhile, continued to remain hidden, silently gathering evidence with Alex's help. They worked late into the night, piecing together the paper trail that would expose Patrick's deception and bring Mathew down once and for all.

One evening, as they sat together in their study, Alex looked over at Ethan, a frown on his face.

"They're going to retaliate," Alex said grimly. "We need to be ready."

Ethan nodded, his expression serious. "We will be. But first, we need to strike."

It was time for their enemies to fall.

As Olivia faced off against Mathew and the others scrambled to protect their stolen empire, Ethan and Alex prepared to launch their final attack—a move that would reveal the truth and bring their family back to power. The pieces were falling into place, and soon, everything would come crashing down.
