Gwen Shaw

Ethan drove to the high school, which wasn't too far from his location. He parked outside the school and, before any issues could arise, identified himself to the security guard at the entrance.

Even he wasn't exempt from being mistaken for a potential kidnapper—such was the state of the world these days.

"They should be out in a few minutes." Ethan thought as he checked the time. It wasn't common for him to personally handle fieldwork, but he needed to meet the young medium who had helped Aisha find him.

Additionally, he didn't want to risk involving a child who might not wish to be entangled in supernatural cases, so Ethan was cautious about ensuring that the Association of Light didn't discover this girl.

"Are you waiting for your child too? You seem very young, quite the surprise."

Ethan turned his head to see a blonde woman who seemed friendly enough, so he replied politely. "I'm just picking up a friend's daughter. Her family is out of town for work."

"How kind of you. By the way, I'm Tracy Rylance. Nice to meet you." Tracy greeted Ethan, feeling that he was a very kind man after seeing him give money to an elderly woman when he first arrived.

Ethan used the resources provided by the S.G.C. wisely, though he hoped not to be filmed and later uploaded to social media with an inspiring song for the younger generation.

"Boy or girl?" Ethan asked, focusing once more on the school entrance.

"Both, though my son rarely comes to school due to some of his episodes," Tracy said as she watched the students begin to exit the building.

Seeing this, Ethan handed her a business card and said, "My job is to solve all kinds of problems. If you think you have one, just call me."

"Thank you; have a good day." Tracy quickly left to collect her children.

Meanwhile, Ethan approached a pair of siblings, a boy and a girl. He got close enough to be heard but kept his distance to avoid scaring them. "Gwen Shaw, I need to speak with you."

"Who are you?" Gwen grasped her older brother's hand, ready to run at the first sign of danger.

Ethan smiled slightly at this and said, "I'm the one who helps your neighbor Aisha. You sent her to me, remember?"

"Sis, who is this guy?" Finney asked, eyeing Ethan suspiciously. With children disappearing around the area lately, his distrust was understandable.

Gwen, however, felt no fear once she realized it was Ethan. She asked, "Did you get there in time?"

"No, unfortunately, I could only solve the problem afterward," Ethan replied, shaking his head.

"So, why are you looking for me?"

"I want to know if you can control your power. Someone with your abilities would be very useful to me, and believe me, you'll receive good benefits if you help me regularly." Ethan pulled out a cellphone and extended it toward the girl.

Gwen stepped back a little and said, "I can't control it, and besides, I'll get in trouble if my dad finds out."

"You'll only call me when you sense trouble with your ability. Each call will earn you a thousand dollars or a favor from me, which is a lot to consider," Ethan offered, hoping to establish a mutually beneficial arrangement without exposing Gwen to unnecessary risk.

"What do you say?"
