A window in an old-style building lets in rays of sunlight. The sun peering through the window on his face woke Amir up.

"Ugh, my head."

Clutching his head Amir looked around his surroundings wondering where he was—soon noticing that this was the infirmary. He was no longer in tattered clothes that he always had on but in a plain black shirt and shorts.

'Where did I get these clothes and who put them on me.'

Soon a lady in a nurse outfit walked into the room and started asking him questions.

"Oh, you're awake now. Since you came in here, I've been wondering why you were here."

Amir shrugged

"I don't know how I got here so I was wondering if you could tell me."

Amir noticed that this was the nurse called Dellilah who was the assistant to the resident physician of the village.

Delilah also knew who Amir was and would always kick him out as he scared customers. She would have already kicked him out because he smelled rancid even with his clothes, but the lady who carried him here wasn't someone she wanted to upset.

"What did you do to make an academy official bring you here?"

Amir's eyes widen as he remembers what happened last night and that the whole reason, he got the chance to run away was because some showed up.

Thinking further back, everything that happened with Micheal came rushing back as he grabbed his throat and let out a gasp.

'I almost died again.'

Everything that happened that night was so painful that he had trouble thinking about it as he was beaten to a pulp and was almost killed again but his eyes widened, and he couldn't believe that after so many years.

He used mana!

Delilah was droning on, and he couldn't care less about what she had to say. In front of him was a panel but it looked as though she couldn't see it.

===Status===

Name: Amir

Titles: Child of Argos

Bloodline: Ancient bloodline of Greed

Rank: F-

Strength: 8

Agility: 6

Stamina: 10

Mana capacity: 4

Charm: 2

[Stat points: 0]

[ Hello welcome to your Status this is a power that has been given to you by spirit Argos to help navigate your new strength which you will attain in the future]

'What is this? strength, stamina, stat points?"

His eyes scanned the panel-like structure of light in front of him his eyes paused on one word.

'Bloodline!'

He couldn't believe what he was seeing. A bloodline was something only the strongest humans in the world had. More specifically only the nobles had bloodlines and were all extremely powerful.

'No way this is crazy, did I get a bloodline!'

He had so much to process and finding out he had a bloodline sent him into a daze. The spirit hadn't lied to him. She truly gave him power.

"Hey, I'm talking to you."

Grabbing his shoulder Delilah tried to get his attention.

Feeling a sudden touch on his shoulder it frightened Amir and he slapped her hand away.

Delilah pulled and grabbed her arm as she clutched her arm in pain. Giving Amir a scornful look she mumbled under her breath as she walked out of the room. If it wasn't for the fact that the woman who brought him here was from one of the academies, she wouldn't even bother talking to him.

Amir ignored her as he continued to read the words on the panel. He wanted to have a better understanding of just what he was dealing with. If people found out that he had a bloodline he might get stringed up and made into a slave.

Shaking away the thoughts of being forced to be some noble's servant he continued to examine the panel.

'I refuse to serve anyone as a slave and lick their boot.'

Everything he read on the panel was confusing, but he was sure that the power of a bloodline was true. When he fought Micheal, he had never felt so powerful in his life. It was as though his blood was boiling beyond control.

In that moment the power he felt was incredible.

He couldn't stop smiling as he finally had the power he wanted more than anything. All the dreams he almost gave up on wasn't just a fantasy anymore. He really could make all of it a reality.

[ Welcome to your Status this is a power that has been given to you by spirit Argos to help navigate your new strength which you will attain in the future.]

Frightened by the sudden voice in his head he jolted back on the bed.

'Did something just speak in my head?'

He was surprised but the words that spoke in his head were on the panel in front of him.

Reading the words he got excited as he realized that this power, he had been given was by no means ordinary.

The spirit of Argos wasn't just something random but in fact, something that every person in the world knew. How could they not know, Afterall the very planet was named Argos!

Amir couldn't help but rub the back of his head while laughing. He was in the presence of the spirit Argos and didn't know it. Just thinking of all the philosophers in the world who would kill to be in her presence made him realize how crazy his encounter was.

Her calling herself his mother wasn't so crazy to him now.

The panel said he had the ancient bloodline of greed, but he had never heard of such a bloodline from any of the old stories of heroes.

'Bloodlines aren't replicable, so did I create this myself?'

Ding*

[ No, this bloodline already existed long ago your actions only triggered the seed placed in your soul to react to your will allowing you to acquire the bloodline of greed.]

'Oh, you're the voice from earlier. What are you exactly Mr. Creepy voice" he said with a look of excitement

[ I am your status or more specifically the thing that allows your status to function without you exploding from the inside out.]

Amir's face froze.

'Explode, what do you mean by explode!'

[ By exploding I mean just that look at the stats points on your panel if you pay attention, it says zero but in the future that will change, and I will hold them for you and distribute them accordingly depending on your will.]

Amir's face twitched he was listening. The damn thing just said he was going to explode! Now it was talking about stat points and whatnot.

'Wait, I don't really understand. What is a stat point and why do I need to die because of it.'

[ Stat points is just the name given to the gathered through your bloodline. I allocate this mana to affect specific parts of your body to get a more desired effect. If I don't control the influx of power, you get in the future your body will overflow with mana and burst into a million pieces.]

Amir's face was pale.

He just got mana and now he could blow up from having too much.

'So, you're saying if you weren't here, I would die.'

[yes]

"Hahaha, it's nice to have ya then Mr. Creepy voice." He said while smiling with a crooked smile

At this point, death seemed to be flirting with him as of late. He didn't like where their relationship was going.

He looked back at the panel, and his gaze settled on the next intriguing thing there.

'Child of Argos'

This one was weird as he didn't know how the title helped him in any way. It was cool for him to think about anyway, like the prodigy-born saints from the stories he listened to as a kid.

"You're awake I see."

Turning around, Amir noticed a beautiful woman with long, flowing red hair and brown eyes, a medium-sized bosom with alluring curves standing by the door. She was beautiful, and Amir had trouble looking away from her. She had on a black unitard with a black jacket over it.

Amir had a feeling where he got the clothes he was wearing now.

"What are you staring at." She asked

Stumbling on his words Amir stopped looking at her.

"W..Well, I'm admiring your beautiful hair."

Hearing the boy stumble she had a slight smile.

"Ouch!"

He felt a sharp pain on his forehead as he rubbed his head.

Amir looked around but only saw the woman standing at the door frame.

"Did you just hit me?"

With a slight smile, she gave him a confused look.

"How could I have possibly hit you when I'm so far away."

Amir gave her a glaring look.

'I know she hit me but she's still at the door, just how fast is she? I couldn't even tell she moved.'

Staring at the woman warily he decided to stand up as being motionless around such a woman could be dangerous.

Paying no mind to his glares she walked into the room.

"You were kidnapped and was going to be sold as a slave by the guard Michael but I already got rid of the persons involved so you don't need to worry about seeing them again."

"What I would like to know is about the man you were going to be sold to can you replay the conversation you overheard while pretending to be asleep."

Amir was surprised that she knew he was faking it. That was a very insignificant detail, and she still caught it.

He quickly concluded * that hiding certain information would be useless, so he proceeded to replay all the events that happened in the forest.

A few minutes later she had finished asking him everything she wanted. it was nothing too important and only very filler questions like what happened with Micheal and what the other man there was saying.

"Ah, I see so that's what happened. it was quite unfortunate for that to happen to you. thank you for the help it's very much appreciated."

She moved from the window she was standing beside.

Staring down at the boy she realized that his eyes would look around the room from time to time from the window to the door as he analyzed the best place to run away.

'It's kind of cute how he's looking around like that.' she thought with a slight smile

He was cautious and very aware of everything he said and seemed intelligent for his age which was good for a kid his age.

"Miss, may I know what your name is?"

Amir wanted least know the name of the person who saved him.

"You can call me Valerie."

She liked the kid's attitude as he was scrappy and had a fire in his eyes.

"Ok thank you Miss Valerie for saving me."

He was grateful as he would be off to who knows where she hadn't arrived when she did.

Reaching out she held out her hand for a handshake. which Amir gladly shook her hand.

[unknown energy has entered the host body]

[Attempting energy removal]

[Attempt failed}

Pulling his hand away from Valerie he stared at her and gave her a nervous laugh.

"I'm sorry but I don't feel well still and I think I should get back to bed."

Amir chose not to make further eye contact with her. He just wanted her to go without any more questions.

"That's fine you should get some rest. Yesterday must have been pretty scary for you."

Saying her goodbye Valerie left the infirmary.

'He noticed that I was doing something plus he shouldn't possess mana but I'm sure I sensed some in his body and there were traces in the forest yesterday too.'

walking out of the infirmary she kept an emotionless face.

"What an interesting boy?"

***

As she walked through the village people looked at her in awe and whispered as she passed by. Paying no mind to them she thought about her talk with Amir.

"Alex, I want you to go find that other man who was there that night and then watch that boy for me," she said softly

"Of course, my lady."

A voice from seemingly nowhere responded and shortly after her shadow disappeared before reappearing.

'I think I just stumbled upon something fascinating.' she thought

She continued her way walking through the village and in the distance a light-skinned man came running towards her.

Running to her the man stopped right in front of her breathing heavily

"H..hello madam Valis I'm the leader of the village Ronald Robison"

The lady kept an emotionless face while looking at the man in front of her. He had dark blonde hair which was glistening as it showed the crazy amount of hair product. He also had a big blue overcoat as his belly pushed his clothes outward and a black hat on top of his head.

"Mister Robison I see so you're the father of the child I came to see."

Her face was emotionless the entire time she spoke.

"Yes! I'll take you to them and give you a tour of this village on the way if that's fine with you."

As the two walked he gave a tour of the village

"Miss, I know that our village may be unstable for a woman of your status but in this village, we fare better than most others," he said with a proud grin

"We have a supply of Asher trees that have absorbed mana and have valuable use in the making of paper and other materials that are stronger than regular trees and a forest with a decent amount of magic beasts that are drawn to the mana in the trees."

"We make a living with those trees and low-rank beasts' cores that drop when the guards protect the village from attacks. We may not be strong, but we push through it as commoners. What else can we do right?" he said with a crestfallen look

"Right" Valerie muttered

As they continued to walk towards a very large house that looked miles different from the old-looking buildings in the town walking into an open courtyard, they saw two boys'

One with dirty blond hair and another with shiny blond hair

"Come on show me what you got Jordan," Elijah said while waving his hand in a teasing matter

"You asked for it."

Raising his hand, a ball of light emerged in his hand as it started spinning.

"Alright, fireball!"

Jordan shouted as the spinning orb ignited turning into a hot scorching ball of flames. The fireball shot out his hands moving at a fast speed going towards Elijah.

As the ball was going to hit him Elijah jumped in the air dodging it with easy landing on his feet. As soon as he landed, he pivoted and pushed forward, quickly heading in Jordan's direction.

"Oh no you don't."

Jordan quickly raised his hand as he muttered words under his breath.

"Mana answer my call heed the words I say and move to my will I call you to scorch the enemies that lay in front of me"

Seeing his Brother approaching, he shouted

"Inferno!"

A huge line fire broke out, and a wave of heat swept through the area as it headed for Elijah.

"Good but not good enough," Elijah said

He kicked his feet on the ground cracking it under the pressure as he disappeared and ended up right in front of Jordan. He threw out a punch at and hit him throwing him back into the wall.

"What do you think of my son's, Madam Valis?"

She stared at the boys fighting and they weren't too bad but couldn't see them going too far. At most, they would be half-decent bodyguards if they pushed themselves.

However, she did find their dedication admirable as she could tell from the markings on their bodies, they trained hard.

"They aren't too bad. The dirty hair one has potential but he's no match for the rest of the empire's talents."

Ronald was disheartened after hearing that but quickly hid his emotions and smiled brightly.

"They may be inexperienced but I'm sure they will impress at the entrance exam as they are fighter's madam valis."

She continued to look around the house walking past the two boys ignoring them completely as she came upon a young girl about with flowing light blonde hair and light brown eyes.

"You're the one I came to see I believe. I'm a professor at Everfall Academy and I'm here to validate the orb test you took 2 weeks ago." Valerie said

The girl had a very soft and sweet smile as she looked at Valerie.

"Father told me that someone would come but I had no idea that an actual professor would show up."

Her eyes lit up as she smiled brightly.

A crystal orb appeared in Valerie's hand. She walked closer to the young girl.

"Well, this isn't standard procedure, but I volunteered for this mission because I was bored and wanted to leave the capital. All you need to do is put your hand on the orb."

Nodding her head and placing her hand on the orb. Soon after her hair fluttered in the wind, she opened her eyes as they glowed a mirage of different colors before fading. Then suddenly the orb lit up in a brilliant glow of white light as the light spread through the courtyard.

Valerie's eyes widened slightly looking at the glowing orb.

'This girl has such a strong connection with the light element. It's high grade and it feels pure but not erratic so she must have already learned some control over it.'

Valerie knew if trained correctly she would be a very sought-after talent. She was glad that the official that tested her before was in their pocket. Leaving a talent like hers to the other academies would be a waste.

Elijah and Jordan watched as their sister Sophia made the orb glow once again with different expressions. Elijah had an annoyed look while Jordan looked at the shining orb with pride.

"She's showing off like she's better than me damn brat," Elijah said softly

The light soon faded and the orb disappeared into a ring on Valerie's finger.

As Valerie stared at the girl who seemed to be shining a light hue, she couldn't help but give a slight smile. Seeing everything that she needed to see she was willing to bring her back to the academy with her.

"Did I do good madam valis?"

Sophia had a nervous look on her face as she wanted to impress Miss Valerie.

"Yes, you did exceptionally well good job," she said

Sophia smiled brightly and had a small puff to her chest. She just impressed an instructor of a Big 3 academy!

Turning around she looked at Ronald who was staring at her with a look of anticipation.

"We can have her directly admitted into the academy via a recommendation specifically from me. Through this, she wouldn't have to participate in the entrance exam."

Ronald was ecstatic.

"Did you hear that my darling Sophia can get into the academy, This is wonderful news!"

He ran and hugged his daughter as they celebrated.

"Okay I'll be back in 3 days to pick her up so prepare your things," she said

Looking at Valerie with gratitude he nodded his head.

"Of course, we'll be ready for you by then thank you so much Madam Valis" Ronald was smiling and waving his hands as Miss Valerie walked away

As Miss Valerie disappeared Ronald's expression darkened as he turned to his sons.

"Your sister got into the academy without even having to sign up for the entrance exam unlike you two. You both should be jumping with praise that this family has such talent."

"Father, we tried our best." Jordan said

"Shut it, you're both useless! "He shouted as he turned around a went back into the house

Jordan had a sad look on his face while Elijah scoffed. Seeing Sophia mocking him as their father walked away enraged him

"You think your better than me Sophia, but I'll beat your ass when we're in the academy little brat."

Hearing him Sophia laughed.

"Hmph you can try Elijah but only if you pass the entrance exam you big dummy."

Walking away she ignored the glare Elijah was giving her.

"Brother you should be nicer to her, it's our sister after all."

Turning to Jordan he had an irritated look.

"She nothing but a damn show off and a daddy girl why the hell should I be kind to that damn brat!"

"But Elijah." Jordan said

"Don't but Elijah me Jordan instead of focusing on this we need to get ready for the entrance exam. I'll be damned if I let this brat be me."

Shaking his head Jordan just didn't know what to do about his brother's temper but knew he was right. If they didn't pass the entrance exam then they would be stuck in the village with their father. The thought of that happening left him very uncomfortable.
