Chapter 331: Sorry, You Won't Get the Chance

"Everyone performed exceptionally well last night. I think we should all applaud ourselves and our collective efforts!" In the meeting room of the Nanjiang Nightclub, Kong Xiaolin was addressing all the nightclub employees. As she talked about how they collectively dealt with Tao Guoling and his gang of thugs, no one had backed down. Kong Xiaolin encouraged everyone to applaud their courage, starting with her own applause, and the entire meeting room soon filled with enthusiastic clapping.

After praising the group, Kong Xiaolin also commended Manager Long for taking the lead and capturing Tao Guoling. Manager Long was embarrassed by the praise and blushed as he said it was his duty, attributing the success to Kong Xiaolin's leadership.

After the employees celebrated for a while, Kong Xiaolin continued, "Alright, although we all believe that Tao Guoling will learn his lesson and won't dare to come back, I think we should still be cautious. So, for the next few days, let's continue to go home together in the same way we did last night, okay?"

The employees' spirits were lifted once again by Kong Xiaolin's words. They eagerly agreed, saying things like, "No problem! If that Tao Guoling dares to come back, we'll make sure he pays for it! Tonight won't be as easy as last night—we'll make him cry for mercy! If he wants to fight, we'll fight him. We'll accompany him to the end, and we don't believe a drunken fool like him can turn things around!"

"Great!" Kong Xiaolin said, "I'm very pleased to see such enthusiasm from everyone. I believe that with our unity, Nanjiang Nightclub can overcome any challenge!"

Despite her words, Kong Xiaolin's anxiety was growing stronger. This unease was an instinctive feeling that had begun after the nightclub's group brawl, which was why she had contacted Zhou Ming. But this anxiety was also baseless, so Kong Xiaolin didn't mention it to anyone and only gave Zhou Ming a brief call, not wanting him to worry too much.

Maybe it was just her own psychological effect; after all, wasn't everything fine after last night's incident?

Kong Xiaolin comforted herself with these thoughts, but little did she know that her worries would become a reality in just three days.

At 8:30 PM three days later, during the peak business hours of the nightclub, several police cars suddenly screeched to a halt outside. Over twenty police officers disembarked and, led by an officer, stormed into the nightclub.

The sudden arrival of so many police officers during the nightclub's busiest time startled everyone. Whether they were regular customers or troublemakers, everyone screamed in surprise. The atmosphere of the nightclub, once lively, was instantly subdued by this cold splash of water.

"What's going on? Director Liu, why have you brought so many police officers here? Are you trying to disrupt our nightclub's normal operations?" Kong Xiaolin stepped forward and questioned.

As the nightclub's general manager, Kong Xiaolin couldn't remain indifferent to such a situation. She recognized the officer leading the team, but her words had no effect. Director Liu and his team continued up to the second floor's KTV rooms.

"Director Liu, what are you doing?"

Kong Xiaolin instructed Manager Wei to notify Director Zhao from the city bureau while she followed them upstairs. However, to her shock, she was greeted with a pair of handcuffs when she reached the top floor.

"Kong Xiaolin, as the manager of Nanjiang Nightclub, you have been involved in drug trafficking under the guise of running a recreational venue. Please come with us to the station," Director Liu said.

Kong Xiaolin was stunned: "Drug trafficking in the nightclub? How is that possible?"

Before Kong Xiaolin could finish speaking, a police officer hurriedly ran up from downstairs and handed two bags of white powder to Director Liu. Liu held up the bags and said, "Caught red-handed. We also apprehended suspects involved in drug transactions in these KTV rooms. They all confessed that you were the one who instructed them to sell drugs."

"Impossible!" Manager Wei immediately protested, "Kong Xiaolin would never do such a thing. You can't take her away!"

Director Liu's eyes narrowed: "Are you resisting arrest?"

Everyone looked at each other in confusion. At this moment, Kong Xiaolin told Manager Wei, "Don't be impulsive. We've done nothing wrong, and if we haven't done it, then it hasn't been done. I believe this frame-up can be cleared up."

"But…"

Manager Wei tried to say more, but Kong Xiaolin cut him off, "Haven't you heard my words?"

Manager Wei could only nod in agreement. Director Liu then signaled for the officers to take Kong Xiaolin away, and she was escorted by two female officers.

This was clearly a conspiracy—someone was setting her up!

Kong Xiaolin was absolutely certain of this, as she had always avoided any illegal activities since the nightclub's establishment. Even fights in the bar and dance hall were much less frequent than elsewhere. How could drug trafficking occur? It was absurd to even think that drugs were found in her office.

Despite understanding that this was a frame-up, Kong Xiaolin found herself helpless in that situation. Manager Wei's protest was dismissed with accusations of resisting arrest, making it clear that everything was planned. No matter how wronged and indignant she felt, she had to endure until conditions were favorable.

The car drove straight to the district police station, and Kong Xiaolin was taken directly to the interrogation room. However, after sitting in the interrogation chair for a long time without any interrogator arriving, Kong Xiaolin became increasingly puzzled and shouted, "Let me out!"

Her clear voice echoed in the interrogation room. After a while, the door finally opened, and a voice that made Kong Xiaolin's heart leap with joy came from the doorway: "Sorry, you won't get the chance."

At the same time, the door to the interrogation room was kicked open, and a figure that brought tears of relief to Kong Xiaolin stood in the doorway.
