Han Feng’s Mental Collapse

Under Han Feng's incredulous gaze, a ball of azure flame suddenly emerged from Xiao Yan's palm.

"This is…"

Seeing the flame that resembled a green lotus, Han Feng couldn't help but exclaim, "Green Lotus Core Flame! Impossible, absolutely impossible! With your current strength, how could you possibly tame the Green Lotus Core Flame?"

Back when Han Feng subdued the Sea Heart Flame, he struggled greatly even with his Dou Emperor-level strength. Xiao Yan, being merely a Dou Practitioner , seemed incapable of achieving such a feat.

"You're right; with my current strength, I naturally wouldn't be able to subdue the Green Lotus Core Flame," Xiao Yan said, his tone laced with sarcasm. "But who told me to have such a great teacher? Without my teacher passing down the complete Flame Mantra to me and personally refining the Blood Lotus Pill to protect me, how could I possibly succeed in taming the Green Lotus Core Flame?"

"It's unfair! This is so unfair! Why? Why?"

Hearing this, Han Feng snapped, unable to suppress his rage. He screamed like a madman, "That old fossil! He's biased! He's biased!"

"You ungrateful traitor, do you still not understand?" Yao Lao bellowed angrily. "I didn't refuse to teach you the Flame Mantra because I was unwilling, but because I didn't know whether it was genuine and feared that you'd refine yourself to death!

"Do you think it was easy for Xiao Yan to subdue the Green Lotus Core Flame? Even with my help, a single misstep during his devouring of the Heavenly Flame could have reduced him to ashes.

"And do you honestly believe that that despicable Mu Gu taught you alchemy out of the goodness of his heart? The techniques he taught you far exceeded your limits, forcibly depleting all of your potential.

"Otherwise, given your cultivation talent, how could you still be stuck at the Dou Ancestor bottleneck after so many years?

"I must have been blind back then to take in a vile and foolish ingrate like you as my disciple!"

"Impossible! You're lying, you're lying…"

Deep down, Han Feng had long suspected there was an issue with his cultivation talent, given that he had been stuck at the Dou Ancestor bottleneck for years. He simply refused to face the truth.

"You are beyond redemption!"

Seeing that Han Feng lacked even the courage to admit his mistakes, the last shred of affection Yao Lao felt for him vanished completely.

At this moment, Xiao Feng stepped forward and asked at the perfect moment, "Yao Lao, how do you plan to deal with this guy? Should we just kill him outright, or keep him around for a slow torment?"

"Killing him outright would be too lenient," Yao Lao replied coldly. "Little lunatic, didn't you plan to keep this traitor to help with alchemy? Let him spend the rest of his days refining pills to atone for his sins."

Had Han Feng shown remorse and repented upon seeing Yao Lao, the latter might have granted him a quick end out of consideration for their past as master and disciple. But since Han Feng showed no signs of regret, Yao Lao saw no reason to show mercy. Instead, he decided to let Xiao Feng exploit him as a mere tool until his death.

"Fair enough. Since you've spoken, Yao Lao, I'll make sure to take good care of him," Xiao Feng said, a playful glint in his eyes, as he reabsorbed Han Feng's soul body into his own.

"Little lunatic, I owe you one for this," Yao Lao said sincerely.

"You're too kind, Yao Lao. As Xiao Yan's teacher, you're my senior as well. This was just a small favor, nothing more," Xiao Feng replied humbly before changing the subject. "That said, I do have a favor to ask of you. I need your help refining two seventh-tier pills."

"Simple enough! What pills do you need?" Yao Lao stroked his beard. "Just tell me the specifics."

Though Yao Lao's strength had not fully recovered, he still had sufficient Dou Qi and spiritual power to refine seventh-tier pills.

"I need a Life-Devouring Pill and a Blood Bone Fusion Pill," Xiao Feng explained.

Yao Lao's expression changed slightly, curiosity flashing across his face. "I can understand why you'd want the Life-Devouring Pill. If I'm not mistaken, it's for that little girl, Xun'er. But why the Blood Bone Fusion Pill? With your recovery abilities, you shouldn't need such a healing elixir."

"You're right; I don't need it. It's for reviving a senior," Xiao Feng explained, revealing the Soul Nourishment Ring in his hand. "Senior TianuHo, please show yourself!"

"Whoosh!"

As Xiao Feng finished speaking, the Soul Nourishment Ring emitted a dazzling white light, and a figure in white robes appeared with a cheerful smile.

"Little lunatic, you and your brother truly have a deep bond. Not only are you twins, but you both have the soul of a Dou Venerate expert accompanying you," Tianhuo Zun-zhe teased lightheartedly before introducing himself. "I am Yao Tian Huo, known as the Heavenly Flame Venerable."

"So you are the famed Heavenly Flame Venerable, renowned for your fire control techniques!" Yao Lao exclaimed in surprise.

"Oh? You've heard of me?" Tianhuo Zun-zhe replied, equally surprised that his name was still recognized after hundreds of years.

"I read about your heroic deeds in the notes of a senior alchemist," Yao Lao said with a touch of admiration. "It's said that your fire control techniques were so extraordinary that even many eighth-tier alchemists couldn't compare."

"Ha ha ha…"

Tianhuo Zun-zhe laughed heartily. "Of course! I'm not bragging, but in terms of fire control, there are few across the Dou Qi Continent who could surpass me.

"My Five-Wheel Separation Fire Art, a high-level Earth-tier technique, allows simultaneous control of five different flames, which can combine into a fire spirit for battle.

"And if four of those flames happen to be Heavenly Flames, its power rivals that of Heaven-tier techniques."

Yao Lao and Xiao Yan exchanged glances, both seeing the excitement in each other's eyes. For alchemists, a high-tier fire control technique like the Five-Wheel Separation Fire Art was immensely enticing—especially for Xiao Yan, whose Flame Mantra required the absorption of multiple Heavenly Flames, making it a perfect match.

Yao Lao's eyes gleamed as he turned to Xiao Feng. "Little lunatic, since you want to help the Heavenly Flame Venerable revive, you must have gathered the other two revival conditions aside from the Blood Bone Fusion Pill, correct?"
