After "taking" enough Sharingan from Konoha, Ye Zi had no concern for the consequences that would follow.
Upon returning to the base in the Land of Waterfalls with White Zetsu, his first task was to hand over the Sharingan to Nanako. He then returned to his room to rest.
As for White Zetsu, Ye Zi instructed him to immediately begin uncovering hidden intelligence agents from various villages operating in the shadows.
After sleeping for an entire day to restore his strength and energy, Ye Zi began preparations for a Sharingan transplant procedure.
The operation was straightforward, especially since the children had Hashirama cells in their bodies, giving them regenerative abilities far superior to normal people. Once the eyes were transplanted, the wounds would heal in no time.
For Ye Zi himself, surgery wasn't even necessary. He could simply place the Sharingan into his eye socket with his hand, and his powerful regenerative abilities would instantly integrate it with his body.
Half the members of the base currently lacked Sharingan. In training battles, these members were typically defeated by those who had Sharingan, so they had long desired a pair of their own.
Today, their wish was finally coming true, and their excitement was palpable.
Under Nanako's skilled hands, one by one, the members successfully received transplants of three-tomoe Sharingan. In the end, only Karin was left without one. Ye Zi had originally intended to prepare a pair for her, but the spoils he acquired included a Mangekyō Sharingan, which couldn't be transplanted to Karin.
Moreover, Karin lacked Hashirama cells, so a Sharingan transplant would place a significant burden on her body. Thus, Ye Zi decided to skip her entirely.
Karin didn't mind. Since arriving at the base, she had quickly integrated into the group. Despite being the weakest member, staying here meant she no longer had to endure being bitten countless times a day.
Once all the other members had their Sharingan transplanted, Ye Zi's envisioned team was finally complete.
"Snake Squad. It'll do as a name," Ye Zi casually decided. He then instructed the squad members to familiarize themselves with their new Sharingan, making it clear that they would soon be assigned a combat mission.
This task would be the Snake Squad's first mission, their first true test in actual combat.
None of them were afraid. On the contrary, they were eager to measure the extent of their newfound power.
After finalizing matters with the Snake Squad, Ye Zi returned to his room and retrieved the pair of Mangekyō Sharingan taken from Fugaku.
Two small, delicate glass jars sat on the table, each holding an eye frozen in the shape of a Mangekyō Sharingan. In the dim light, they exuded an eerie, chilling presence.
Ye Zi had only one Mangekyō Sharingan, which housed the Tenjin dojutsu. Transplanting Fuqiu's Mangekyō would grant him another dojutsu.
He stared silently at the two Mangekyō Sharingan for a moment before selecting Fugaku's left eye. Taking the glass jar, he removed the eye and held it gently in his palm.
Without using any surgical tools, Ye Zi expressionlessly dug out his own left eye with his hand and placed Fugaku's left eye into the empty socket. Blood trickled down from his eye socket.
Keeping his left eye tightly shut, Ye Zi placed his extracted eye into a glass jar and stored it alongside the other Mangekyō.
With the new Mangekyō in place, Ye Zi kept his left eye closed, allowing the regenerative power of his Hashirama cells to take effect.
Ten seconds later, Ye Zi slowly opened his left eye, revealing the Mangekyō within.
As the Mangekyō integrated into his body, a residual memory of the eye's abilities manifested as information in Ye Zi's mind.
"Enhancing genjutsu strength?"
Upon learning the dojutsu housed in his new left eye, Ye Zi couldn't help but feel elated. This Mangekyō's ability seemed tailor-made for his Tenjin.
Low, unrestrained laughter echoed in the dimly lit room.
After some time, Ye Zi calmed his excitement. He had already decided to keep this Mangekyō. As for the other one, he had no need for its abilities.
What, then, should he do with the extra Mangekyō?
Ye Zi initially considered giving it to Shin, but after some thought, he decided instead to gift it to Orochimaru.
In Ye Zi's view, Shin had a high probability of awakening his own Mangekyō Sharingan due to his unique constitution, which perfectly fused Uchiha and Senju bloodlines. Shin likely wouldn't require emotional trauma to trigger the awakening.
This unique constitution set Shin apart, and when the time was right, his Mangekyō would naturally awaken. Moreover, in Ye Zi's plans, both Shin and Orochimaru were indispensable and equally important.
Ye Zi wanted Jin to awaken his Mangekyō Sharingan on his own, so he ultimately decided to gift the extra Mangekyō to Orochimaru.
After cleaning the blood from his face, Ye Zi spent some time in his room forcing the fixed Mangekyō form in his left eye to revert to its ordinary state.
Ye Zi suppressed the urge to test the Mangekyō Sharingan's abilities for now and headed straight to Orochimaru's laboratory.
"What is it?" Orochimaru asked. Lately, he felt pressed for time and was unwilling to waste it on trivial matters.
Ye Zi was well aware of this. He only came to Orochimaru when something important required his attention. Without wasting words, he pulled out the transparent glass jar containing Fugaku's Mangekyō Sharingan.
Seeing the Mangekyō Sharingan in Ye Zi's hand, Orochimaru's expression shifted. His gaze moved to Ye Zi's calm face as he asked, "Whose eyes are these?"
"Fugaku Uchiha's," Ye Zi replied flatly.
Orochimaru froze briefly, then smirked coldly. "You really don't hold the Uchiha clan in high regard, do you? To dare steal the clan leader's eyes, does that mean you killed him?"
Although Orochimaru was deeply immersed in his experiments, he was aware that Ye Zi had recently gone to Konoha, collecting a significant number of three-tomoe Sharingan to transplant into the children at the base. What he hadn't expected was that Ye Zi had also taken Fugaku's Mangekyō Sharingan.
"I killed him." Ye Zi placed the glass jar on the table and said casually, "This eye is yours."
Orochimaru's eyes glimmered. He thought to himself that Ye Zi was indeed generous, gifting such a rare Mangekyō Sharingan without hesitation. Still, it was a gift he appreciated greatly. Not only did it hold immense research value, but given that he also had Hashirama cells in his body, transplanting the Mangekyō into his own eyes was entirely feasible.
"And the other one?" Orochimaru asked, not out of greed, but out of curiosity.
Ye Zi, who rarely hid anything from Orochimaru, pointed to his left eye with his index finger and said lightly, "It's here."
A sinister smile spread across Orochimaru's face.
