Chapter 6 - Archaeo Explore Group

After the announcement of the chairman's death and the completion of the documents for succession, Violet became the official CEO and the largest stockholder of the Archaeo Explore Group also known for its nickname "ArchEx". It is the largest archaeological exploration company in Lua Zelpis, known for their raiding and exploration activities of abandoned temples and palaces, ruins of old civilizations, tombs, burial caves and grounds, etc. which made them filthy rich throughout the years.

The company can proudly say that the ruin raiding industry was started by their group under the helm of Heinrich Carlsen, Violet's grandfather and the first generation CEO of the company. ArchEx's income comes from the items that the raiders under the company get from these explorations which are then sold directly to the central government. Anything in excess are then auctioned off to private companies, groups and even individuals that are interested in them.

The ArchEx group also had their hands in several industries, owning a huge number of hospitals, research facilities, pharmaceutical companies, farms, schools and training centers for new raiders in partnership with the central government. All of these business ventures cemented their rank as the biggest company in Lua Zelpis and in turn, the family owning them, the Carlsen family, as the richest of the rich.

The third generation CEO's full name is Violet Gratia Carlsen. The company, although majorly owned by her at 75% stock ownership, is currently co-managed with the descendants of the original raiding group members that founded the company together with her grandfather, Old Man Heinrich. These original raiding group members took several high ranking roles in the board of directors and now that they were old, their children took hold of those positions like some type of inheritance.

Those grannies and grandpas were good friends of her grandfather. They treated her really well but she could not say the same for the current heirs though. Most of the members of the board of directors are in their late 30s and even some in their 40s. You would certainly understand why they hated having a 17-year old boss when they think that they are all more than enough to take the CEO position for themselves instead. These people were nice to her when her father was alive due to fear or something but now that she was on her own, their true colors have all come out.

ArchEx became well-known across the planet not only because the Carlsens were filthy rich but also because of Violet herself, whether she liked that fact or not. The current owner of this group was a young woman who's only 17 years of age, unmarried, no publicized arranged marriage setup to any family and a business genius. Anybody who is lucky enough to marry her will be set for life even if you include at least three more generations of the family afterwards.

Companies as huge as ArchEx are usually run and inherited by either an elderly gentleman or perhaps a worthy male of some branch family, if the main family doesn't have a son to inherit it. Violet was a peculiarity within the still strongly patriarchal society of the new world.

When everybody heard that a certain woman named Violet was announced as the new CEO of such a huge corporation, it made news on all the front page of newspapers and internet-based publications for both the right and the wrong reasons. Together with it, there was an obvious increase of applicants to the corporation which were mostly unmarried men less than 30 years of age for reasons that are quite very obvious.

Now that Violet's father is not around, the invitations to parties and gatherings are coming in endlessly. The letter requests for blind datesand matchmaking are coming in floods too. The receiver of the requests was certainly very unamused at the outright disregard for her new position and her being only seen as a stepping stone to endless wealth through marriage.

Atty. Crawford's POV

I have known Violet from the time she was born. Her father Alexander and I have been friends since we were young and we grew up together. I even met that woman, Lilac, whom my dear friend dated for a time before she heartlessly abandoned him. I accompanied he guy as he drunk away his sorrows and heart break after that woman left.

My father worked for the Old Master Heinrich and his wife Margaret as well. I used to affectionately call Violet, Little Plum but it is not so appropriate now that she has grown up so I call her by her real name just like everybody else.

She is known to be a kind-hearted, jolly and skilled ruin raider as well as a genius when it comes to business just like her father and grandfather, to people that have worked with her. It was sad that she is an orphan now. What is more disheartening is that the first thing that she asked help for from me is a last will and testament and I can only shake my head in disbelief.

How hard must she be living and how worried was she for all these changes happening at the same time for her to ask for one? She is only 17 right now. She shouldn't be worrying about her death.

Although she is young, my friend's daughter has been brought up quite well. She is a strong and independent woman who stays firm with her beliefs and goals. On her speech when she took up the CEO role, she vowed to continue the good things that her grandfather and father have always done for the world which was very admirable for me and those that have been loyal to their family for decades.

True to her word, she continued to support several foundations that aim to help the less fortunate as well as the families of those raiders that were killed during their line of work. Other organizations that she donates to are those that support the well-being and education of orphans and the poor as well as research facilities who put their efforts on how to improve fertility and childbirth, medical treatments to prolong life and those that study how to secure food resources for this planet. This makes ArchEx a very generous and compassionate company as a whole and it was primarily because it was being managed by a third generation Carlsen.
