Chapter 315: 1.5 Billion Ryo Deal

Obito stared deeply at Akira. Over the years, he had never been able to understand why Kakashi killed Rin. It was the most painful memory in his heart, something he instinctively avoided revisiting. He had also never tried to get the answer from Kakashi directly, fearing it might expose his identity.

Yet now, Akira claimed to know the truth of what had happened that year. The truth was right there in front of him, and Obito could no longer resist.

"So, how much do you want?" Obito asked Akira, his voice serious.

"How much do you think it's worth?" Akira didn't name a price directly. Instead, he threw the question back at Obito.

It was like a game of bargaining—one wanted the seller to name a price, while the other wanted the buyer to name his offer. For a moment, it seemed both sides were at a stalemate.

But Obito needed this more than anything else, so after a brief silence, he finally gave his price: "I think this information is worth one billion ryo."

"One billion!?" Hearing Obito's offer, Akira's eyes lit up.

With his current power level at the Super-Kage level, a single life simulation required ten million ryo. And Obito was offering one billion? That would allow him to do a hundred simulations!

Between the money he received from the Mizukage and what Kakuzu had given him, Akira calculated that he could potentially afford daily simulations for nearly half a year.

Of course, this was business after all. Even if Obito's offer made Akira extremely happy, he had to keep his cool. He quickly suppressed his excitement and kept his expression neutral.

In this moment, Akira envied Obito. With that mask covering his face, Obito didn't have to worry about showing his expressions.

"One billion? Such an important piece of information is only worth one billion? At least one and a half billion!"

As the saying goes, "shoot for the stars, settle for the sky." Akira instantly raised the price by fifty percent.

"Fine, one and a half billion!" Obito agreed without hesitation.

"Huh? Did I set the price too low?" Akira was taken aback by how readily Obito agreed, feeling both amused and bewildered.

Wasn't bargaining supposed to take a long time with each side pushing back and forth before settling on a price? Obito's prompt agreement made Akira feel like he had been too hasty.

"What is it? Don't you have the truth?" Obito's tone turned cold as he noticed Akira's hesitation.

"No, I have it. One hand gives the money, the other gives the information. If you have one and a half billion ryo right now, I can tell you the truth immediately," Akira replied, collecting himself and speaking to Obito.

"One and a half billion isn't a small amount. I need time to prepare it. Do you really trust me enough to let me leave?" Obito asked, his eyes locking onto Akira's.

"Of course I do. Why wouldn't I?" Akira answered, his demeanor calm.

After finishing his sentence, Akira even raised his hand and released the sealing jutsu placed on Obito.

With the seal removed, Obito's chakra returned.

"You really trust me enough to let me leave?" Obito was stunned, staring at Akira in disbelief.

"I believe you value the truth about Rin Nohara more," Akira answered simply, not offering much of an explanation.

"It seems like you understand me the most," Obito sighed. He didn't deny it. Without saying anything further, he turned and left.

With the opportunity to finally learn the truth about Rin's death, Obito couldn't pass it up.

One and a half billion ryo might be a lot, but Obito was confident he could gather it if it meant learning the truth.

"Oh, one more piece of advice!" Akira called out suddenly, just as Obito was about to leave.

Hearing this, Obito paused and turned his head, looking at Akira with a questioning gaze.

"About what happened between us, you'd better not tell anyone," Akira advised.

"Alright, I understand," Obito nodded seriously.

Then, without another word, he leaped into the distance and soon disappeared.

"Brother-in-law, did you really just let him go like that?" Hanabi asked, stunned, once Obito was far enough away.

Rōshi and Han said nothing, but their eyes also held the same bewildered question as they stared at Akira.

It was obvious that Hanabi had voiced the question they all had.

"Don't worry. He'll be back—with one and a half billion in cash," Akira replied confidently.

Would Obito not want to know the truth about Rin Nohara's death? Akira was certain that was impossible.

"If Akira-sama is confident, then there's no mistake," Hinata said softly, a gentle smile on her face.

Clearly, to Hinata, anything Akira said was something she would trust without question.

Hearing her words, Akira couldn't help but smile. He reached out and gently ruffled Hinata's hair.

So, what makes the perfect girlfriend? Just look at Hinata!

No matter what he did, she was always supportive—that was exactly what he needed.

Seeing Akira's assurance, Rōshi and the others had no objections.

After that, Akira and Hinata chatted about some affairs concerning the shinobi world, and the time passed by quickly as everyone conversed.

Elsewhere, Naruto continued his training for the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode under Killer Bee's guidance.

Though the progress was slow, it was steady.

Half a day passed by in a flash.

In another location, Black Zetsu had already returned to the Akatsuki hideout. Knowing that Obito had been captured by Akira, Black Zetsu was in a foul mood.

After all, Obito was the most suitable tool he had. If Obito was captured by Akira, he would lose his most valuable pawn.

"What should I do? Should I consider reviving Madara early?" Black Zetsu muttered to himself, considering the idea of bringing Uchiha Madara back sooner.

Given the current situation, it seemed like that was the only viable option.

Just as Black Zetsu was pondering whether to revive Madara, the space in the Akatsuki hideout twisted in a spiraling vortex.

Obito, wearing his mask, appeared using Kamui.

"Huh? Why are you back?" Black Zetsu asked in shock upon seeing Obito.

"What? Should I not be back?" Obito responded, confused.

"Of course not. You were captured by Akira. How did he let you go?" Black Zetsu explained, shaking his head.

Behind his mask, Obito opened his mouth, ready to recount what had happened. But then, Akira's final reminder echoed in his mind.

Should he tell Black Zetsu about what happened? Obito hesitated.

As the embodiment of Madara's will, Obito trusted Black Zetsu. Yet, remembering Akira's specific warning made Obito waver.

"What's wrong? Is there something unusual?" Black Zetsu asked, noticing Obito's silence.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just got lost in thought for a moment." Obito collected himself and reflexively responded, "I used Kamui to escape when he wasn't paying attention. He underestimated my Kamui."

"I see. Looks like Akira was careless," Black Zetsu said, nodding without questioning Obito further.

After briefly discussing their failed mission to attack Akira, and determining that there were no other issues, Black Zetsu left.

Obito, however, had another plan. He needed to find Nagato.

Though Nagato was the leader of the Akatsuki, Obito still considered himself to be the true mastermind. As long as he found a suitable reason, he was confident he could get Nagato to approve the funds he needed.

After locating Nagato, Obito casually mentioned that he needed one and a half billion ryo for something important.

Nagato didn't seem interested in obstructing Obito over money, and after a brief nod, he summoned Kakuzu and instructed him to allocate one and a half billion ryo to Obito.

Though Kakuzu seemed surprised, he did not defy Nagato's command.

And so, one and a half billion ryo was handed over to Obito.
