CHAPTER 29: SUSPICION

Linurk was walking through the village, looking around for any abnormal or suspicious thing in the village. He walked around the scarce empty surrounding and with a sad look on his face as memories of the village and villagers filled his mind, the smile on thier faces as he and Radjar passes them.

He has been having strange feeling about Arjurd and Enon that made him so uneasy and about Noel Nina's father going out in the night to waist precious food on an unmoving object, it was the chief's order and he has to respect it.

*SIGH*

he sighs thinking and seeing parts of a wrecked hut all over the ground as he walked carefully past them. As much as he wanted to order Arjurd to fix it up, but what was the point of rebuilding if there was no one to use it. But yet he couldn't just take them off his mind,

"But those 2 have been up to something for these past few days, I don't know what it is thier planning and it makes me sick" Linurk said seeing no use for them.

"Everyone I held close ate missing or dead, strong determined warriors died but they still live"

He said drowning in his thought as he unknowingly passed by Mona's hut and his ears stood straight,

"........go tonight"

His eyes widened in shock and he got confused,

"Go tonight" he said,

"What does that mean" He asked, himself.

In the middle of his thoughts Mona and Nina stepped out of the hut and were surprised to see Linurk standing not too far from the entrance. Mona saw him and frowned,

"Linurk!!!" She yelled snapping him out of his thoughts.

He turns to face her while trying to hide his sadness and confusion with a straight face.

"When did you two get here"He asked,

"Don't play dumb" Mona said walking towards him,

"You were spying on us weren't you" Mona said,

"I don't know what you are talking about" Linurk said,

"Don't you know it's super rude to eavesdrop on someone" Mona said,

Linurk just stares at her,

"Yeah it sounds so right coming from your mouth" Linurk said with sarcasms.

"Listen I have a lot more on my mind than to stand around playing games with you" He said and did not hesitate to walk away.

Nina waited for Linurk to be completely out of sight before before turning to Mona.

"Why did you do that?" Nina asked,

"He was clearly thinking about something else you didn't have to accuse him" she said, she could tell by the look she saw on his face when she came out was a mixture of sadness and confusion.

"He just haven't been himself since your brother died, it must have been hard on him"

Nina said,

"You need to have a bath you stink"

Mona said changing the subject.

She is well aware that she thinks about her brothers death, she might break down in tears so she just didn't want to think about it.

"so do you" Nina said,

"We'll see tonight" Mona said and they went thier separate ways.

Linurk on the other hand got suspicious,

"She's hiding something" He said,

Linurk knows Mona too well, whenever she acts like that, she has hidden intentions.

".......... go tonight" He repeated what he heard,

"Thier planning something, what are they planning tonight" He said,

"I better check in on them tonight to be sure"

He said and went to join the other warriors.

In the night, Nina made her way quickly to Mona's hut, she turned to her right and left to make sure she was not followed and she enters.

Immediately she entered, Mona held Nina as she has been expecting her.

"How was it" Mona asked,

."Great, I said everything you asked me to "

Nina said and she explains,

"I told my dad I'll be spending the night at your place, I told the clan chief, your father that we were going to be staying in the same but tonight and I reluctantly went to tell Linurk not to eavesdrop on us, just like you asked me to"

"Good now the plan is all set" Mona say's and let go of her.

Nina was confused , she understands lying to the clan chief and her father but why going to tell Linurk not to eavesdrop.

"Why did I have to tell Linurk not to eavesdrop on us won't that sound suspicious" Nina asked,

"Yeah it would sound suspicious coming from me but from you, the truthful loving Nina it would sound normal"

Mona said rubbing her hair as she turns to Nina,

"Alright lets go"

Mona held Nina's hand, she popped her head out of her hut and turns her head from the left to right, checking if the coast was clear.

As soon as she saw it was, she gently came out and Nina followed from behind. They made a turn going through the side then through the trees and moving farther and farther away from the village as time went on.
