Awakened in a new world

CHAPTER 31: Sweet Relief.

2 figures are seen walking through the dark forest, one infront of the other as they held hands moved stealthily through the forst.

Both the figurse walked out of the hidding cover of the tree canopy and moonlight shoned on them, reaveling 2 beautiful female demi-humans. One with ash coloured hair, the other with blonde hair, both possessing cat like ears on thier head and long tails.

Mona and Nina ran back to the dark shelter of the canopy. They moved together through the darkness heading for thier destination, Nina was scared as she turns to her left and right seeing the darknessthat surrounds them and thinking of the monstrous things that may lurk within them.

Mona on the other hand had that blinding confidence as she led the way through the darkness.

Nina felt so uneasy, she has never been this far away from the village and she was scared. A part of her doubted Mona is able to get them there, wanting to turn around and return to the village, but sincerely speaking she wants peace of mind knowing her family is safe and not in trouble of anykind.

Mona steps suddenly came to a halt, Nina was confused.

"Are we there?" She wispered to Mona,

Mona turns to her,

"Shuuuuush"

Nina was confused, through the darkness she saw Mona pointing upward. She raised her head, she saw................. actually she didn't know what she was looking at, even the stars weren't even visible thanks to the thick tree canopies.

But she noticed something odd, it looked blurry but there was some sort of dark figure on top of the tree beside them. She didn't know what it was, it stood like a human turning from left to right watching the ground beneath him, but he has yet to spot them.

Nina eye's widened in shock, seeing the creature holding a spear in it's hand.

"A warrior " She said in her mind.

A warrior on night patrol, Nina was excited and happy because since warrior is here that means the village wasn't too far from them. She thought they had gone so far from the village, but also scared. If he sees them there's no telling what thier dad would do to them if they find out they snuck out.

She felt Mona grip on her hand tighten, she turns to Mona who nodded reassuring her. Mona let's go of Nina, she left her and walked passed the tree without making a single sound and getting to the other side

and the warrior didn't notice a thing. Nina stood shocked and afraid that Mona would leave her, she raised her foot trying to get her. She stepped on some dry leaves and they made sounds that caugth the warriors attention and he turns to her deirection. Nina heart racing like a marathon,

"Stop" Mona wispered.

Nina did exactly as she was told and didn't move a muscle and froze in place like a statue.

The warrior stared down at her direction, but Nina stood in place unmoving. With the warrior focused sight on her direction, seemed like they would be caught much sooner than expected. Nina was panicking her heart racing, trying to control her breathing, she was under so much pressure and tried to control her breathing.

"How?"

One thing confused her, the same dry leaves that Mona walked on just a few seconds and didn't make a single sound, but when is her turn it makes a commotion that'll get them caught.

She wasn't the only one, Mona on the other hand was panicking, thinking of a way to get her best friend out of the mess she got herself in. Then she got an idea, Nina watched as Mona went down to the ground, it was so dark she couldn't see what she was up to. Mona threw the stone she picked to her far right, it entered some bushes not too far and rustling sound were heard.

The warriors ears stood reacting to the sound and turned away from Nina, searching for the origin of the sound he heard. Nina didn't waist time and raced towards Mona as fast as she could and was nearly seen.

Both of the them sighed in relief as they have just barely passed without being seen. Mona was sure that from that point on, it would be smooth sailing with no more encounter with thier own kind or so she thought. The continued using the tree canopy as cover, not too far from where they encountered the last warrior, Nina spotted another on top of the tree above them.

"Linurk you stupid mobudo" She cursed silently to herself,

"How?" She asked confused.

"Linurk must have doubled the warriors on guard" Mona wispered to Nina and they tried the very same thing same thing they did before and it worked like a charm.
