Since Donne was fearless, during the last day of the battle, he went ahead of everybody. Two enemies struck at the same time not aware that there was a third person who went for the kill. Knowing he was unrelenting, their strategy is designed to put him down for good. Due to Donne's quick maneuvering, he was able to block the two initial attackers, kill the other one with his sword, and stab the other one in the heart with his dagger with the other hand. Then from his peripheral vision, he saw the third one. He pulled his sword to stab the third enemy but not before he was stabbed first in his side causing a lot of blood to flow. Before he was able to get back up, he was struck in the back by the first enemy with his last breath.
