There was nothing they could do now that Calla was in her home already. Meara comforted him that maybe Calla would visit on New Year's Day itself.
Theron held Meara's hand tightly and they walked around looking at anything and everything.
"How about we buy ready-made clothes again? I want to see you in pretty clothes. You can choose plain clothes for home and get some for Calla. I think she will like the surprise of new clothes when she gets back. You can burn your old clothes from the mansion."
"Burn? Can we repurpose them as rags?"
"Okay, rags it is."
"Okay!" Meara agreed excitedly. She smiled at Theron.
Theron doted on her before they continued walking towards the clothing and textile block.
After shopping, they went back to the parking lot and saw a boy in his early teens leading one carriage towards a vacant stable. His eyes were bright and his body was alert. He respectfully thanked the man who gave him loose change.
