CHAPTER 32

BRIAN'S RESIDENT

As the sun set over the city, a sense of unease settled over the big office. John, a young and ambitious entrepreneur, sat across from his father, Mr Brian, his eyes cast downward in shame. The contract for Project Eclipse, a deal that had promised to bring in millions of dollars, lay on the desk between them, a constant reminder of John's mistake.

"Dad, I...I thought it was a good idea," John stammered, his voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't know it was illegal. I I don't even know that Mk is that kind of man. No one knows. He hide it so well."

Mr Brian, sighed heavily. "John, how many times have I told you to always read the fine print? To never sign anything without understanding the terms?"

John nodded, feeling a wave of regret wash over him. "I know, Dad. I was just so caught up in the idea of making a lot of money. We just got listed. I didn't think it through."
