Gaining supporters and haters

The mouths of the viewers had stretched open so wide in shock that their lower jaws practically threatened to touch the ground.

They were in such shock because Zeus had one shot a monster that almost every player had struggled against!

One must know the Imp Assassin was the second hardest type of imp to deal with in the tutorial.

It was an elite monster, far harder to kill than the ordinary imps that most players struggled against.

Monsters in New World Online were divided into many levels and types.

No one knew what the maximum level was yet, but the types have already been figured out.

From weakest to strongest, Monsters were divided into the following five types: Ordinary, Elite, Area Boss, Boss, and Raid Boss. A level 1 elite type monster was twice as hard to deal with as a level 1 normal monster. Zeus was the first to treat an elite monster like a helpless fly that could be effortlessly slapped to death.

"How can this be?"

CyberBlade rubbed his eyes in disbelief. He was unwilling to believe what he had just seen.

He had died five times during the tutorial.

The first time, he was admiring the hyper-realistic environment of the game while roaming the forest when he was assassinated out of the blue.

The second time, he was even more cautious, and the imp failed to assassinate him. He engaged it in a fierce battle that ended with his victory. Then, he was killed by the other imps it had summoned with its dying cries.

After that, he knew the only way to avoid being attacked by a pack was to one-shot the cunning Imp Assassin, but even in the next three attempts, he failed to do it.

He thought it was impossible, but Zeus had just proved him wrong.

'With the game only having been released for one day, there is currently no record of an Imp Assassin being one-shot by a player. Zeus is the first to do it! Just who is this guy? Where did he come from? Why have I never heard of him? Is he the second-best player of the most famous game, Digital Gladiators, playing under a different alias? Or a retired pro player who has come out of retirement to dominate New World Online? He must not be someone ordinary—his reaction speed rivals mine...' CyberBlade had many questions, but they were bound to remain unanswered today.

Meanwhile, the chat of was exploding with donations and comments. Someone was so generous and impressed by his gameplay that they sent him 50 rockets. Each rocket was worth $5, so Leon had just earned $250 in an instant. He smiled and quickly thanked the donor.

"Dude, that was lit! I've never seen anyone take down an Imp Assassin like that!" wrote DragonSlayer123 in the chat.

"This guy's a legend in the making, no cap," added NightHawk.

Viewers were stanning him hard.

"I'm subscribing to you. Eh, he has no paid subscription set up. God Zeus, set up your paid subscription, and I'll subscribe to you immediately!"

Paid subscriptions on StreamNet allowed viewers to support their favorite streamers with a monthly fee and get benefits like exclusive access to perks like special emotes, subscriber-only chat, and early content. It was a steady source of income for streamers, and many viewers were eager to show their support in this way.

Many were impressed with the feat Leon have achieved. However, not everyone was happy with him.

"He only killed an Imp; stop making a big deal out of it," sneered GamerChick101.

There were always people who couldn't stand others entering the limelight, and GamerChick101 was one of them.

She downplayed Leon's achievement, trying to rain on his parade.

But karma had other plans.

Just as she hit enter on her snarky comment, the chat exploded with instant retaliation.

"Are you serious? Do you even know what you're talking about?" someone fired back.

"It's not just an Imp—it's the Imp Assassin that makes the tutorial hell for noobs and a challenge for pros!" someone quickly retorted.

"There's not one player who's walked into the game and not gotten assassinated by it—except for God Zeus!"

Before GamerChick101 could respond, a third viewer added, "You must be salty because you can't get past it yourself. Don't hate on someone who's actually good!"

And just like that, GamerChick101 found herself drowned out by a wave of supporters Leon have gathered out of sheer coincidence. The gigachads of the gaming community weren't going to let anyone downplay what Zeus had just accomplished.

Leon smiled at the flood of support that came to his defense when he was targeted by a hater in the chat.

"Thanks for the love, everyone," he said, addressing his viewers. "And for the one who showed his intention of supporting me, I'll set up the paid subscription option after I breeze through the trial. You can subscribe to me then. I appreciate every bit of support."

Leon's intention was to make money playing the game, so he wasn't going to shy away from setting up a paid subscription on his channel. After all, if people were willing to support him, he had no reason to hold back. This was all part of his plan to turn his gaming skills into a profitable venture, and he was ready to take full advantage of every opportunity that came his way.

After addressing his viewers, he closed the chat window and focused on the notification that had popped up when he killed the imp. The notification was semi-transparent, so it didn't block his vision much, and its opacity could be adjusted. This option was available to ensure players could set the interface according to their preferences. Notifications could also be turned off entirely if desired.

"Not bad, not bad at all," Leon felt happy for he had just monopolized an achievement that only one person could claim, a rare honor in a game like New World Online. But despite his happiness, he remained vigilant. He was ready to react to any danger that might suddenly come to haunt him.
