Encountering part 4 boss in part 2, lucky or unlucky?

Just as Leon resumed his journey, without warning, a blinding ray of light burst out of the bush closest to him.

In this dark and eerie forest where everything even the tree leaves, seemed black and ominous, this light was eye catching.

It radiated intense sharpness, as if it could pierce through mortal flesh like a pin through paper.

Only a few extremely attentive viewers with sharp eyes and even sharper minds noticed what it truly was and they simultaneously felt afraid for Zeus. In that fleeting moment, they instinctively thought, This could be the end for God King Zeus's winning streak. After all, the attack came too suddenly and seemed impossible to dodge!

At that moment, luckily for Leon, his reflexes, honed from years of playing New World Online, didn't betray him.

He reflexively used [Guard]. The basic swords in his hands were brought forward in an X-shape, crossed tightly in front of him. The ray of silver light struck the point where the swords' intersected, and sparks flew.

Leon had successfully blocked the sneak attack with [Guard].

The viewers, who had forgotten to breath, inhaled deeply. God King Zeus have surprised them once again!

Cheep!

Inside the game, with an annoying cry, an Imp lunged out, thrusting its spear toward his heart.

This Imp was as tall as an average human, but it was considerably more muscular. Its frame was so muscular that the muscles under its skin were clearly defined, bulging with every single one of its movement.

The spear it wielded was decorated with crude carvings that gave it an ominous appearance. The spear was nearly five and a half feet long, but width-wise, it was considerably thin. At its tip was a dark, viscous liquid—a poison that glistened dangerously under the dim illumination provided not only by the light of the moons seeping through the gaps in the canopy overhead but also by the glowing moss attached to the base of the surrounding trees.

"Who is this Imp? It's more insidious and faster than an Imp Assassin!"

"Looks like Zeus met a real challenge this time around."

Most viewers were curious about this new threat. This was the first Imp that had nearly assassinated Zeus. If not for his ridiculously quick reflexes that rivaled the top pro players of Digital Gladiators, he would've fallen to its lethal strike. Not to mention, although it failed to assassinate him, it was quick to follow up, not giving him any room to breathe. They wondered who this ridiculously strong bad guy was.

Viewers who had already watched live broadcasts or videos of players completing the tutorial recognized this Imp.

It was known as the Venomous Fang, one of the three most deadly enemies a player can encounter in the turotial. In the imp category, it was second only to the final boss of the tutorial.

It wasn't wrong to say that Imp Assassins were mere nuisances compared to it. After all, the Venomous Fang was the despair of many streamers. In the past six hours, it had forced countless streamers to rage-quit New World Online or break down mentally and weep on stream.

Many players had to redo the tutorial dozens of times because of it. This creature was truly a menace!

Players usually encountered this Imp in the fourth part of the tutorial, after leveling up multiple times and improving their stats from the first three parts. The viewers who knew this couldn't help but feel that God King Zeus was really unlucky to have met it in the second part of the tutorial.

ShadowStrike couldn't help but think Zeus was down on his luck. He wondered if he even knew how dangerous this Imp and its weapon was. The tip of the Venomous Fang's spear was coated in a deadly poison so potent that it could kill anything it came in contact with!

The viewers were being considerate. That was good. But in this situation Leon didn't need their pity. He wasn't your average player, after all.

He had several years of experience in this game under his belt, so how could he not recognize the dark liquid coating the spear? It was the infamous Nightshade Poison. If even a single scratch got him, he'd be paralyzed within seconds and die within three minutes. If the spear pierced him and the poison entered his bloodstream, he would be dead in seconds.

He had to dodge it, no matter what. Now Leon had just responded to an attack that came out of the blue, so how could he not respond to an attack of this caliber? It was straightforward and clearly visible; he saw it coming from a mile away.

He responded to it calculatively.

Instead of using Quickstep, he leaped backward. The tip of the spear missed him by a hair's breadth. He had done this because he knew that Venomous Fang would follow up with its sure-kill combo once he dodged its straightforward attack. This combo was something he couldn't dodge if his Quickstep skill was on cooldown.

Whoosh!

Just as expected, the Imp vanished from where it stood, magically appearing right next to Leon in a flash, its spear aimed for his life again.

The viewers' eyes widened in interest, their focus entirely on the screen that was broadcasting Leon's live stream.

This was the combo that had claimed the lives of many players, forcing them to respawn and redo the tutorial all over again.

Will Zeus be able to survive it?

This question was on everyone's mind, especially CyberBlade's.

After all, he had fallen to this trick not once but twice, leading him to rage quit.

Swoosh!

Back in the game, the poisonous spear pierced through the air, the gap between Leon and its tip closing rapidly.

Just as it seemed like he would be impaled, he vanished.

He had activated the Level 2 Quickstep!

The Imp's poisonous spear met nothing but thin air.

Countless eyes widened, but the pair of eyes that widened the most belonged to the Imp, Venomous Fang.

It had always relied on this combo to deal with threats, but today, for the first time, it had failed. It was taken by surprise. What it didn't know was that this was going to be the last time this combo would ever fail it.

Swoosh!

Maybe not even a blink of an eye had passed before Leon appeared beside the Imp. Immediately, he cast Slash.

The swords in his hands swept towards the Imp like a hurricane. The trajectory was manually controlled by him. Both swords aimed to behead the Imp from either side.

The Imp was given no time to respond. It failed to dodge Leon's counterattack and was beheaded.
