Fighting the wyvern

The torrent of icy breath the Frost Wyvern unleashed was as wide as half an American football field. As it surged forward like an unstoppable avalanche, everything in its path was encased in a thick layer of ice

The viewers watching the live stream couldn't help but think, "Such a powerful attack… this has to be its ultimate move." But they weren't absolutely certain. The Frost Wyvern might still be hiding deadlier techniques up its sleeve. Unless the beast confirmed it itself, there was no way to be sure that this was its strongest move.

Then the viewers wondered, "How will Zeus survive this?"

But their concern quickly turned to awe when they saw Zeus vanish into thin air just before the torrent of icy breath could reach him. They guessed he had used the empowered [Quickstep (Lv. 2)], which allowed him to travel a great distance in a flash. He should be safely out of the range of the Wyvern's ferocious attack by now.

Bam!

The Wyvern's attack missed its mark but struck the area where Leon had been standing a moment ago with a thunderous crash. An area of fifty feet in width and length froze solid in an instant. Within that area, all the grases, herbs, shrubs, trees, and thick bushes were encased in a thick layer of ice, at least five inches deep.

But the damage brought to life by the Wyvern's skill didn't end there.

The frost spread rapidly from the frozen area of the Darkwood forest, covering even more of it in ice.

The ice wasn't the normal kind; it was so cold that the air above the frozen zone chilled to an extreme degree, threatening frostbite to anyone in its vicinity.

This was a sight as majestic as it was dreadful, it was a display of sheer power that would leave anyone who laid their eyes on it in awe of its possessor.

Having such power would thrill anyone. But the owner of this power was not the least bit happy.

Instead, it stood before the frozen landscape with its eyes wide as saucers, seemingly shocked to its core.

This shock stemmed from seeing its most devastating attack, one capable of annihilating entire tribes of monsters like goblins and kobolds, effortlessly dodged by a mere human—one it hadn't even bothered to take seriously just a minute ago.

"He dodged the greatest skill in my arsenal? How?" The Wyvern quickly realized how, and the truth was so aggravating that it filled its heart with a thick wave of frustration. "Damn the Fairy Queen for granting him such power, damn her." It let out a furious roar that echoed in the air.

However, it didn't allow its emotions to cloud its judgment for long. In the end, it was still a 100-year-old demon. It tried to learn from its mistakes to do better next time.

It pondered thoughtfully and recognized that it had wasted two-thirds of its mana and inflicted no damage on Leon because it had made a grave mistake. It had underestimated his newfound speed.

'The next time, I should immobilize him before using my deadliest skill—that way, I would certainly get him.'

The thought brought a terrifying smile to its face, one so menacing it could silence a crying baby or give a heart attack to those with feeble hearts if they chanced upon it.

Its unsughty smile quickly faded. As intelligent as it was, the Wyvern knew it couldn't afford to dwell on such pleasing thoughts, especially not now when its enemy, who had grown powerful enough to threaten its existence thanks to the Fairy Queen's blessing, was missing.

Quickly, it scanned the area in search of him.

"There you are," the Wyvern hissed as its eyes locked onto a tall and sturdy figure a few feet away from the frozen zone of the forest.

It was Leon. He looked completely unscathed.

Leon stared back at the Wyvern from his position with a hint of mischief in his eyes. "That was your strongest move, wasn't it?" he asked teasingly.

"Indeed, Extinguisher of Flames is the most powerful skill I can unleash," the wyvern said proudly.

Now that the Wyvern itself had confirmed it, the viewers were left with no reason to doubt it. The chat erupted with comments.

[XtremeGamer]: "Seems like I was right. That was indeed its ultimate move."

"This is quite bewildering. Why did it go all out from the very start? Shouldn't it have conserved its strength if it was really confident in its ability to suppress Zeus?" Asked a viewer called BustyBeauty.

[DragonSlayer123]: "I know why. It's because it's afraid."

[BustyBeauty]: "Afraid of what?"

[Dragonslayer123]: "I'm not going to say it for free."

[BustyBeauty]: "Come on, spill it! What do you want?"

[Dragonslayer123]: "Beg me."

[BustyBeauty]: "Fine, i beg of you, please, just tell us!"

The other users spammed the chat with emojis to express they were impressed with BustyBeauty as she had made a great sacrifice to satify their curiosity.

[Dragonslayer123]: "It's afraid of God King Zeus adapting to his new powers. It knows that if he masters them, it'll be cooked, so it's going all out to kill him before that happens."

[YourNemesis]: "It talks big, but it doesn't dare to have a fair fight. What a coward."

[GamerGoddess]: "This Wyvern is really nasty."

[XtremeGamer]: "It will get what's coming for it. My God King Zeus will butcher it like the beast it is."

Meanwhile, in the game, the Wyvern glared down at Leon with disdain, as if he were nothing more than an insignificant bug beneath its claws. Its gaze was filled with contempt, and its voice dripped with arrogance as it asked, "What of it?"

The Wyvern's tone and attitude made it clear that it didn't see Leon as a threat, only as a minor inconvenience that would soon be dealt with.

Leon remained unfazed by the Wyvern's arrogance and insulting attitude. He calmly said, "Nothing, I was just confirming my guess."

This just made it feel curious.

The Wyvern had inherited the blood of demonic dragons.

The demonic dragons were known for having no control over their desires and they were one of the most curious beings out there. Once their curiosity was ignited, they would find it impossible to ignore.

The Wyvern also found its curiosity hard to ignore. Thus, it demanded, "What guess?"

Leon's smiled like a sly fox, "You won't like to hear it."

The Wyvern's curiosity flared even hotter. The dragon blood coursing through its veins made its curiosity almost as intense as the fury it held for Leon in its heart.

"Speak, or you won't get the chance," it threatened.

Leon sighed lightly, as if the Wyvern's demand left him with no choice but to reveal the truth.

"I guessed that with the Fairy Queen's blessing, I'd be able to defeat you. Dodging your ultimate skill only cemented that fact. You're as good as dead in my eyes, little lizard," Leon said confidently.

Gahahahaha!

As if it wasn't just insulted, the Wyvern threw its head back and let out a booming, almost mocking laugh, the kind that echoed across the forest like thunder.

"You've certainly gotten a lot faster, but that's not going to be enough to defeat me. At best, you can dodge my attacks, but that's all. Sooner or later, you'll run out of stamina, and then I'll crush you beneath my claws," it said with absolute certainty after laughing.

The viewers couldn't help but wonder, What makes it so confident?

Leon asked the very same question out loud.

The Wyvern didn't hesitate to provide an answer as it didn't feel the need to hide anything from what it still saw as a mere insect. "My scales aren't just for decoration, after all. They can stop even the fastest of blades. I'll be surprised if you even manage to breach my defenses."

Leon smirked, "Well then, you're in for a surprise."

"You're delusional," the Wyvern said as it bridged the gap between them with a lunge and clawed at him.
