Inside the dimly lit airplane, the hum of the engine filled the small cabin as Logan, Steve, and Howard Stark made final preparations for the mission. The atmosphere was tense, each man focused on the task ahead.
Logan glanced at Steve. "You ready for this, Rogers? It's not gonna be a walk in the park."
Steve tightened the straps on his parachute, determination hardening his features. "I was made for this, Logan. Those men—We're gonna save them all. I'm not leaving anyone behind."
Howard, seated at the controls, grinned back at them. "You boys better hold on. We're almost over the drop zone."
As the Hydra base camp came into view below, Logan moved to the back of the airplane and pulled open the heavy door. The night air rushed in, cool and biting, as they peered down at the enemy stronghold.
Without warning, the plane shook violently as blasts of energy shot up from the ground, narrowly missing them. Howard's hands flew over the controls, expertly maneuvering the plane out of harm's way. "They've spotted us! Hold tight, I'm gonna get us closer!"
Logan smirked, unfazed by the chaos. He glanced at Steve. "You've got your parachute, right?"
Steve nodded but was confused seeing Logan didn't have one. "And you? You're just jumping?"
Logan's smirk widened. "I don't need a parachute, kid."
With that, Logan leaped out of the airplane, his body slicing through the air like a missile. Steve who was shocked initially soon followed a moment later, his parachute deploying and slowing his descent. Howard, with one last glance back, turned the plane away from the battle, heading back to safety.
Logan hit the ground first with a heavy thud, the impact sending a minor shockwave through the earth. He stood up, dusting himself off as if the fall had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.
His enhanced senses quickly picked up Steve's scent, and he headed in the direction of the Captain's landing.
It didn't take long for Logan to find Steve, who was still gathering his bearings after the drop. "You alright, Rogers?" Logan asked as he approached.
"Yeah, I'm good," Steve replied, still catching his breath. "How did yo-"
"Save it kid, I'll tell you later." Logan didn't let Steve finish his sentence.
"So, What's the plan?"
Logan's eyes narrowed. "We're outnumbered, so here's the deal: I'll create a distraction, draw as many of their soldiers away as I can. You get inside and free those men. Once they're out, we regroup and hit them hard."
Steve frowned, already beginning to argue. "You don't have to take all the risk, Logan. We can—"
Before Steve could finish, the roar of motorcycle engines cut through the night. Hydra soldiers on motorcycles appeared over the ridge, speeding toward them with weapons drawn.
Logan didn't hesitate. He rushed forward, his bone claws extending with a sharp *snikt*.
In a blur of motion, he was among the soldiers, his claws slashing through flesh and metal with lethal precision.
The Hydra soldiers had no chance to react; in seconds, they were all on the ground, lifeless, their bodies barely registering what had happened.
Steve watched, his eyes wide with a mix of surprise and awe. He'd known Logan was formidable, but this...this was something else entirely.
As Steve opened his mouth to question Logan, the older man cut him off, wiping the blood from his claws. "Save it, Rogers. I'll tell you everything after this mission. For now, focus. We've got work to do."
Steve nodded as he knows that Logan is not normal but he knows one thing - Logan is on his side. Together, they moved silently toward the Hydra base.
------
Deep within the Hydra base, Johann Schmidt, stood in front of the glowing Tesseract. Its otherworldly energy pulsed in the dimly lit chamber, casting eerie shadows across the walls.
Dr. Arnim Zola, the genius scientist behind many of Hydra's advancements, stood beside him, adjusting his round spectacles nervously.
Schmidt, his expression twisted with ambition, gazed at the Tesseract as if it were the very key to his destiny. "The Tesseract is more than a simple power source, Zola. It's the cornerstone of a new world, one we will shape in our image. With this, Hydra will surpass the limitations of mortal men."
Zola, always practical, nodded cautiously. "Indeed, Herr Schmidt. But we must be careful. The power we are dealing with is beyond anything we have ever encountered. If we cannot control it..."
Schmidt cut him off with a sharp gesture. "We will control it, Zola. The Tesseract is the key to our dominion over the world. It is not the power we should fear, but the lack of it. Once we harness its full potential, not even the Allies will be able to stand against us."
Their conversation was interrupted by a blaring alarm. Zola quickly moved to a nearby console, his face tightening as he read the incoming reports. "Herr Schmidt, there's been a breach! Someone is attacking the front gate. The soldiers are reporting heavy casualties."
Schmidt's eyes narrowed. "Who dares to challenge Hydra?"
Zola's fingers flew across the keys as he pulled up a surveillance feed. The screen flickered to life, revealing Logan with his bone claws extended as he is tearing through Hydra soldiers like a force of nature. Bullets riddled his body, but didn't do much damage but same can't be said to his clothes as they are shredding from the impact.
----
**A few moments earlier**
Outside the base, Logan smirked as he watched the Hydra soldiers focus their fire on him. "Let's fucking go," he growled, his voice dripping with deadly intent.
With a burst of speed, he lunged at the nearest group, his claws slashing through their weapons and bodies with ease. Blood sprayed across the ground as he moved with precision, each strike deadly and swift. Soldiers screamed and fell as Logan carved a path through them, his expression one of grim satisfaction.
Steve Rogers who is watching from the shadows, was momentarily stunned by the sheer brutality and efficiency of Logan's attack. But he quickly shook off his head, knowing he had a mission to complete. He is on his motorcycle (borrowed from hydra soldiers), waiting for the perfect moment to dash into the base. Logan had drawn nearly all the attention to himself, just as planned.
----
Inside the command center, Zola's face paled as he watched the carnage on the screen. "He's a monster... no ordinary man could do this," Zola muttered, fear creeping into his voice.
Schmidt's face twisted into a snarl. "This is not the time to fight him head-on, Zola. If this man is here, then the rest of his team could be close by. Our location has been compromised. We must evacuate immediately and take the Tesseract with us."
Zola nodded quickly, already preparing the necessary steps for their departure. "I will prepare the transport, Herr Schmidt."
As Zola hurried off, Schmidt took one last look at the Tesseract before turning away, his mind racing with thoughts of revenge. "No matter how strong he is, he will not stop Hydra's rise. We will meet again."
----
Meanwhile, outside, Logan continued his rampage, decimating the Hydra forces with terrifying ease. The ground was littered with bodies, and the few remaining soldiers were either fleeing or trying desperately to regroup. Logan, covered in blood and grinning like a madman, relished the chaos he had created.
Steve, seeing his opportunity, roared to life on his motorcycle and sped towards the building. With Logan keeping the soldiers occupied, Steve slipped inside, determined to find and rescue the captured men.
Inside the base, Red Skull and Zola were already preparing their escape as Steve who is inside is searching for the prisoners.
----
Steve Rogers fought his way through the Hydra base, freeing the captured soldiers one by one. The clang of chains and the murmur of gratitude filled the air as he and the liberated men made their way to the surface.
Steve's heart pounded with urgency as he scanned rooms one by one for his best friend, Bucky Barnes.
At last, Steve spotted Bucky, bound and unconscious in a lab.
With a surge of determination, Steve cut through the restraints and gently roused his friend. "Bucky, it's me. We're getting out of here."
Bucky blinked, his eyes focusing on Steve through a haze of confusion. "Steve? What's going on? I thought you're small."
"We'll talk later. Right now, we need to get out of here," Steve urged.
As they moved towards the exit, Steve's eyes fell on a map pinned to the wall. It detailed Hydra's various bases and operations. He memorized the locations quickly, knowing this information would be crucial for future missions.
Emerging into the night, Steve and his group fought their way through the remaining Hydra soldiers.
Steve and the men are seperated as they all went outside to get revenge. Steve initially wants just wants to save them but seeing the development and he thought they might had a chance to capture the leader here, along with Bucky he goes towards the leader room.
Just as they reached the perimeter, Steve and Bucky encountered the formidable obstacle: Schmidt and Dr. Zola stood in their path, ready to make their escape.
Schmidt's chilling voice cut through the chaos. "You've meddled long enough, Captain."
Steve's face hardened as he had an idea who it was. "Who are you?"
Schmidt smirked, his face partially obscured by his mask. "I am Johann Schmidt, one of the leaders of Hydra. And you are just another obstacle."
Steve clenched his fists, his eyes narrowing in determination. "I'm going to stop you here."
With a burst of speed, Steve charged at Schmidt. He ducked and sent Bucky flying with a single punch, he was then knocked unconscious.
Steve got angry and charged at Schmidt who tried to punch Steve. He quickly put the shield he had on his back untill now infront to block the attack but was shocked to see that Schmidt punched a hole in it.
Soon two clashed on a bridge, their movements a blur of combat. A powerful punch from Steve sent Red Skull reeling, and his mask was knocked off, revealing the horrific red skull beneath.
Steve staggered back, staring in shock. "You're..."
Schmidt's face twisted into a cruel smile. "I'm the true super soldier, Captain. I am the future of humanity. Hydra will rise, and your pathetic resistance will crumble."
Steve gritted his teeth, his anger flaring. "You'll never win. As long as there are people like me, who stand against you, you'll never succeed."
Red Skull's eyes glowed with malevolent triumph. "We shall see, Captain. We shall see."
Dr. Zola, watching the confrontation with a mixture of fear and anticipation, quickly pulled a lever that seperated the bridge into two seperating both of the men. "Herr Schmidt, we must leave now! Our time is running out!"
Schmidt hesitated for a moment, casting one last, disdainful glance at Steve. "You may have won this battle, but the war is far from over. Hydra will endure, and so will I."
With that, Schmidt and Zola made their retreat, disappearing into the night as Steve watched them go, his heart heavy with the weight of the battle and the knowledge of the fight that lay ahead.
Steve turned to his friend who just woke up. "Let's get out of here and make sure this information gets to where it needs to be. We have a lot of work ahead of us."
----
As the dust settled and the chaos of battle faded, the men who had escaped from the Hydra base stood in stunned silence.
The battlefield was littered with the bloody remains of fallen soldiers, a grim testament to the ferocity of the conflict. Amidst the carnage, Logan stood atop a tanker, his silhouette strikingly powerful against the backdrop of the devastation.
He was imposing and unwavering, his figure framed by the flickering light of burning wreckage and smoldering ruins.
Logan's voice, a low and confident growl, cut through the silence. "Let's get out of here."
As the words left his mouth, Steve and Bucky emerged from the smoke and rubble, their faces grim but resolute. They joined Logan and the remaining team members, their determination unshaken by the grim spectacle around them.
---
Back at the base, Chester Phillips surveyed the reports with a mix of astonishment and respect.
The fact that Steve Rogers had not only managed to save the captured men but also acquired vital information about Hydra's operations was a significant achievement.
Phillips had initially thought Logan was the primary force behind the mission's success, but Steve's performance couldn't be neglected.
"I must admit, Captain Rogers, you've exceeded my expectations," Phillips said, his tone grudgingly admiring. "It appears you've done far more than we anticipated."
Phillips considered the implications of Steve's success. Perhaps it was time to give Steve a more prominent role. The thought of Steve leading his own group began to take shape in Phillips' mind, a potential ally in the fight against Hydra.
---
With the successful mission, Steve and his selected team, now officially known as the Howling Commandos, took their place on the global stage.
Their reputation grew rapidly as they undertook dangerous missions to destroy the locations of enemy bases and made significant contributions to the war effort.
The Howling Commandos became renowned for their bravery and effectiveness, their reputation climbing to near parity with Logan's Crescent Pack. Both teams were celebrated for their successes, and their respective contributions were instrumental in turning the tide of the war.
The fight was far from over, but with their skills, determination, and Steve Rogers and Logan, alongside their teams, were enough to put fear to the enemy.
