Chapter 13: Offering One’s Life

Chapter 13: Offering One's Life

**At first, the Beili people thought the starship was on a routine patrol. But when you bypassed customs without inspection and sped through, the Beili fleet at the spaceport realized something was amiss.**

**However, to them, this was a minor issue. Dispatching a starship to chase a few escapees and a soon-to-be-scrapped starship was not cost-effective. After all, your value didn't compare to the cost of the fuel. So, they sent only a single Flesh Beast to pursue you.**

**The Flesh Beast's speed wasn't very fast, but it was more than sufficient to catch up with a rundown starship. Soon, the beast closed in, attacking and damaging the starship's propulsion engine, forcing you to land in an abandoned spaceport.**

**In the face of impending disaster, the workers jumped from the starship and scattered in all directions. The Beili people seemed to enjoy the chase, not allowing the Flesh Beast to devour you immediately but opting to capture you individually.**

**With only a few malfunctioning mechanical drones operating in the deserted spaceport, you fled desperately, pursued by two Beili people with dog heads.**

**You didn't know how long you had been running until you spotted a ship and two figures in the distance. Although you didn't know their identities, you ran toward them with your last hope.**

**"Bai Heng, how many starships have you crashed this month?"**

**"The third… uh, maybe the fourth. But that's not important. Let's see where we are first."**

**Bai Heng, holding a curved bow, smiled and scratched his fox ears, looking at Mirror Flow, who stood at the bow of the starship.**

**At that moment, Mirror Flow, a breathtakingly beautiful woman with long hair between silver and blue-gray, a circular hairpin with a green ribbon, blood-red eyes, and a jet-black sword, stared at the approaching boy with a frosty expression.**

**As the boy approached, Mirror Flow pointed her sword at his neck and asked,**

**"Who are you?"**

**Breathless and parched, Bai Heng croaked,**

**"Run… run away! Big sister, there are monsters behind us."**

**"Monsters?" Mirror Flow tilted her head slightly and looked into the distance.**

**Moments later, she noticed the blurred outline of the Flesh Beast approaching.**

**"Bountiful Devourer…" she murmured, retracting the sword from Bai Heng's neck and speaking to Bai Heng,**

**"Bai Heng, keep an eye on him."**

**"Got it." Bai Heng nodded, standing next to Bai Heng with a reassuring smile, and said,**

**"Don't worry, this big sister specializes in dealing with such monsters."**

**With that, Mirror Flow stepped onto her long-tube cloud boots, and her jet-black sword glowed with a blood-red light.**

**Seeing new prey, the Flesh Beast slowed its pace. As it approached within attack range, the Beili people ordered the Beast to attack, testing the new arrivals.**

**Just as the Beast prepared to spew corrosive acid, Mirror Flow raised her sword and swung it with a visible speed. The sword, surrounded by a frosty mist, stirred the air like manipulating sea tides.**

**In an instant, the ground froze, and ice blades shot up, piercing through the Flesh Beast's corpulent body. Before the Beili people could react, Mirror Flow dashed forward and, with a single stroke, cut down the Beast and the Beili people.**

**The ice-covered Flesh Beast fell heavily to the ground. Mirror Flow sheathed her sword with a frosty expression and returned to the starship.**

**"Huh?" Bai Heng stared at the scene in disbelief.**

**Without hesitation, he performed a swift move and clung to her leg, saying,**

**"Sword Fairy, I can't repay your life-saving grace. I can only offer myself in return."**

**You were kicked away, but fortunately, the force was controlled, so you didn't fall flat.**

**Mirror Flow cleared all the Beili people from the spaceport, but unfortunately, apart from you, the other escaping workers were killed by the Beili people.**

**Three days later, you arrived at the Xianzhou "Luofu" aboard the starship. The grandeur of Luofu was like a roller coaster ride from hell to heaven. After confirming it wasn't a dream, you learned that the woman who saved you was actually the Sword Master of Luofu. Realizing this was a high-ranking official, you decided to stay and serve in the Sword Master's residence.**

**The person who agreed to let you stay was an older brother named Jing Yuan, while Mirror Flow remained indifferent. Thus, your daily tasks involved washing clothes, boiling water, and cooking. Since the Sword Master enjoyed tranquility, the residence had only a few servants and Jing Yuan, a disciple of the Sword Master.**

**As time passed, you adapted to life there. On your duty days, you would wake up at dawn, prepare hot water and breakfast for Mirror Flow before she left for the Cloud Riders' training ground. After she departed, you cleaned the garden with senior servants and then prepared dinner and bathing water for the Sword Master in the evening.**

**After some time, Mirror Flow noticed your cooking skills and, having almost forgotten about you, requested that you handle her daily meals.**

**At eight years old, since you often delivered food to Mirror Flow at the training grounds, you picked up a few moves by watching her. During your free time, you practiced with a wooden sword.**

**Perhaps recognizing your talent for swordsmanship, Mirror Flow showed some interest and agreed to train with you. You learned quickly and started calling her Master Sister.**

**Initially, due to your short lifespan, she had low expectations for your swordsmanship. But over time, she realized you were exceptional. Techniques that took others a year to learn, you grasped in three days. Techniques from incomplete manuals you could deduce and perfect.**

**At nine years old, your swordsmanship continued to progress rapidly, and you condensed your sword intent. Excited, you found a unique dual-cultivation sword manual and asked Mirror Flow,**

**"Master Sister, let's practice dual cultivation together!"**
