Placing the pen down after signing the share transfer document, I extended my hand toward Liam with a warm smile, hoping to bridge the tension. "I hope this doesn't come between us or change what we've built overtime," I said, my smile still locked in place.

Liam's eyes flickered toward my father, who had been silently observing the exchange with a keen intensity. 

Letting out a faint sigh, Liam finally accepted my handshake, though his grip felt reluctant.

"Should we celebrate this with a drink?" Malcolm interjected.

Without hesitation, Liam rose to his feet. He adjusted his jacket with a sharp tug, his clenched jaw betraying the frustration he felt at the moment. His body language made it clear—he wasn't happy about the transfer of shares, and he certainly didn't appreciate Malcom's presence.

"I've got a meeting in a few minutes," Liam replied tersely, his voice clipped. "I'm afraid I can't join you for a drink."
