Chapter 524: Board Games (0)

Meanwhile, a group of students at school began brainstorming ideas.

Saeko Busujima suggested, "How about kendo? The kendo club is always popular, no matter which school you attend."

Fran immediately shook her head. "Kendo? With my powers, I'm already dangerous enough! If I pick up a sword, won't I become a smaller version of Ryougi Shiki? No thanks."

Somewhere, Ryougi Shiki's ears might have burned. Offended? Probably. After all, what had Shiki done to provoke Fran? If Shiki were here, perhaps a battle would ensue to determine who was stronger: Fran's eyes or Shiki's Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.

Miku chimed in with her own idea. "How about a music class instead? Becoming an idol could be a great choice for the future."

Before anyone could respond, Nero suddenly leaped into the conversation. "Yes! Music is perfect! I can be your teacher! My singing voice rivals that of Apollo himself!"

Fran cringed. "Please, no. If you start singing, you might destroy everyone's eardrums. Let's avoid music class altogether, okay?"

Alexander intervened, quickly putting a stop to the idea. One Nero was already chaotic enough; if more students started following her example, he might have to learn soundproofing magic just to survive.

"Video games! Let's do something fun!" Gabriel suggested, her eyes lighting up.

Before she could continue, Alexander smacked her back into her seat. "I know you too well, Gabriel. You just want someone to play games with you! Forget it. One lazy angel in this house is enough, let alone adding fallen dragons, robots, or vampires to the mix."

Alexander started to ponder. What kind of interest class could nurture their talents, keep everyone engaged, and still appear respectable?

While he mulled over the options, a news broadcast on TV caught his attention.

"Sports Express: In yesterday's Dragon King (Ryuo) title match, 16-year-old Yaichi Kuzuryuu became the youngest Dragon King in history with a stunning victory. Let us applaud his achievement!"

Yaichi Kuzuryuu? Dragon King? The name sounded oddly familiar to Alexander.

Wait a minute… Yaichi Kuzuryuu? The one famously nicknamed "Loli King" among fans of the second dimension?

But that wasn't the important part. The important part was… Shogi! A sophisticated, quiet, and elegant pastime.

"It's decided!" Alexander declared. "Tomorrow, everyone will sign up for board game lessons—whether it's Go, Shogi, or Western chess!"

The little girls exchanged uncertain glances. Was board game really that fun?

"Board games sound so boring…" Miku groaned. "Darling, are you sure you don't want to reconsider? I'd rather stick to singing and dancing than sit in one spot for hours."

Alexander remained confident. "Miku, you don't even know how to play board games. How can you judge its charm?"

"Who says I can't play it?" Miku retorted, puffing up with indignation.

"Oh? Then tell me," Alexander challenged, "do you know how to play it?"

Miku hesitated. "I… I know how to play flying chess."

"… Flying chess?"

"Yeah, it's chess, isn't it?"

Alexander sighed, choosing his words carefully. "Flying chess isn't real chess."

But seeing Miku's unwavering conviction, he decided not to argue. "Fine, you win. Flying chess is a kind of chess."

"Now, let's eat," Alexander said, cutting the debate short. "The food won't taste as good if it gets cold."

After settling on their interest classes, the group sat down for a peaceful meal. The room was filled with the harmonious clinking of utensils and quiet chatter.

However, in a dim corner of the house, a mysterious figure wandered aimlessly.

"Where is this place? Light! Light, where are you?"

The man's voice called out as he moved. He had long, dark purple hair trailing behind him, a crimson undershirt beneath a white safari jacket, and light green pants. His blue eyes gleamed, and his handsome features exuded an aristocratic elegance. He held a bat-shaped fan in one hand and wore a traditional black hat that evoked the Heian period.

This enigmatic figure was none other than… Fujiwara no Sai!
