"Have you heard? That gossip-worthy anime character, Fujiwara no Sai, is here! And it looks like he's going to challenge Alpha Dog soon!"

"Challenge Alpha Dog? That's a tough one—Alpha Dog is difficult to deal with."

"Exactly! Back in the day, Ronin was incredibly powerful, but in the end, even he lost."

"Not necessarily. Who knows? Anime characters might be stronger than modern chess players."

"Not so fast—did you forget? Ronin once said that his strength was comparable to Fujiwara no Sai."

"True, but times are changing, and society keeps progressing. Ancient Go strategies and techniques have already been thoroughly studied. Even if the Go creator were reborn, it would be hard for him to defeat today's world champions."

"Exactly. Let alone Alpha Dog... Ah, forget it. Let's just watch and enjoy the match. After all, whether it's gods or ghosts playing, they'll flee faster than anyone else if something goes wrong. But this game is all about human wisdom. Why would I lose faith in that?"

---

In a brightly lit room, Fujiwara spoke excitedly.

"Mr. Alexander! Is this where we'll play? It looks amazing!"

Alexander smiled and shook his head at Fujiwara's enthusiasm.

"This is the Nihon Ki-in Club, one of the top three Go academies in the country. Play your best, but don't cry if you lose," Alexander teased.

"By the way, have you gone over all the modern Go rules I asked you to study?"

Alexander glanced at Fujiwara, who confidently replied, "Don't worry, I've studied them thoroughly."

"Good. But what if you lose?"

"Lose? That would actually make me happy!" Fujiwara said with surprising excitement.

Alexander frowned. "Happy? Why would losing make you happy?"

"Of course, because it means I still have room to grow. To truly pursue Go, I must keep moving forward," Fujiwara said, grinning.

Alexander shook his head at Fujiwara's words. "I still prefer the joy of winning."

"Winning is great, but I find progress even more thrilling," Fujiwara countered cheerfully.

Alexander sighed and shrugged. "Fine. Go players and their peculiarities—I'll just watch."

--

Just then, a figure approached Alexander and bowed respectfully.

"Mr. Alexander, I've heard a lot about you. I'm Hikaru Kato, and I'll be representing Alpha Dog in this match."

Alexander smiled. "Hello, Hikaru. I'll be playing for Fujiwara no Sai this time. We're all just tools in the game, no need for formalities."

Hikaru laughed. "Mr. Alexander, you have a great sense of humor. Shall we begin?"

"Sure, let's start."

Both players sat down. Beside Alexander, Fujiwara gave a slight nod toward the nearby screen, though the gesture seemed strangely awkward.

---

The match began.

Fujiwara no Sai took the black stones and made the first move.

"Alexander, 3-17," Fujiwara announced as the game officially commenced.

In the viewing room, everyone was glued to the goboard. Online, countless spectators also tuned in to witness the match.

Even four young girls had joined Alexander to watch, though they remained silent. Meanwhile, others couldn't help but comment.

"This opening… Black is at a disadvantage."

"True. Black's strategy seems outdated. While it's not lacking in skill, Alpha Dog has analyzed historical game records using big data. Even if Fujiwara were the Go creator himself, he'd still be at a significant disadvantage."

Listening to the discussion, Kanna curiously asked, "Does this mean big brother might lose?"

The vampire sisters exchanged uncertain glances. As novices in Go, they couldn't say for sure. Still, based on the experts' remarks, Fujiwara no Sai's opening didn't seem promising.

Then, Schwi suddenly spoke up.

"Is Fujiwara's opponent… a low-level machine?"
