Chapter 539: The Dissipating Yawai Sisters

Alexander approached the two women, his words leaving them deep in thought. For a moment, the sisters exchanged glances, each unwilling to acknowledge the truth before them.

Alexander chuckled as he observed their reactions. "You refuse to admit it? Fine, I'll give you a chance."

He produced a Descendant Card from his hand, holding it out before the two women. His mischievous smile lingered as he spoke again.

"Are you saying Yuzuru would willingly become my maid to save me?" Kaguya asked in disbelief. "That's impossible! She'd never do such a thing!"

"Exactly. There's no way Kaguya would sacrifice herself to protect me," Yuzuru echoed, her tone equally firm.

Alexander's grin widened. "Well then, how about we conduct a little experiment?"

With a wave of his hand, Alexander dispelled the ice seal that had immobilized Yuzuru. Now free to move, she stood silently, staring at him, her expression unreadable. Both women were unsure of what Alexander intended to do.

In the next moment, a bolt of lightning crackled in the air. It shot toward Kaguya, its target unmistakable—her head. Death was inevitable.

Kaguya's eyes widened in shock as the scene unfolded. But just before the lightning struck, Yuzuru stepped forward without hesitation, using her body to shield her sister.

"No! Yuzuru, get out of the way!" Kaguya screamed, but it was too late. The lightning had already struck.

The sound of crackling electricity filled the air, and Yuzuru collapsed to the ground, lifeless.

"Yuzuru!" Kaguya's voice broke as tears welled in her eyes. Her body trembled, overcome by grief and rage. "Why…?" she whispered, unable to comprehend Alexander's casual demeanor.

"Alright, you're free to go now," Alexander said as he released Kaguya from her ice seal.

But instead of leaving, Kaguya lunged at Alexander, her weapon raised. "I'LL KILL YOU! YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS!"

She swung her spear, but Alexander caught it effortlessly with one hand. Lightning crackled ominously around him.

"I thought you said your relationship wasn't good," Alexander taunted. "And didn't I kill her for you? You don't have to fight anymore, and now you can truly become Yawai. Shouldn't you be thanking me?"

"Thank you? Why didn't you kill me instead!?" Kaguya's voice cracked as tears streamed down her face.

"Oh? Would this result make you happy?"

"Happy? Why would I be happy? Yuzuru was the one who deserved to live! She's sweet, kind, and the most precious person in the world. Her life was worth so much more than mine. So why… why would you take her away?"

Alexander shrugged. "If that's how you felt, why didn't you say so earlier? Maybe I wouldn't have killed her if you'd admitted it."

Kaguya glared at him, her voice choked with emotion. "Because I thought you'd choose Yuzuru. She's obviously better—someone you'd value more. Even if she lived an ordinary life, she would make it worthwhile. But you… I'll kill you and bury you with her if it's the last thing I do!"

"You can't defeat me," Alexander replied nonchalantly.

"Then I'll die trying. Even if it means my death, I'll avenge her!"

As Kaguya's power flared to its peak, she prepared to attack with everything she had. But just as she charged, Alexander's calm voice interrupted her.

"You're such a stubborn one, Kaguya. Listen closely, Yuzuru is alive."

Kaguya froze, her eyes wide with shock. "What did you say?"

She turned to see another Alexander standing behind her, covering the mouth of a girl who looked very much alive. It was Yuzuru, unharmed.

"Yuzuru!" Kaguya dropped her weapon and ran toward her sister. Breaking free from Alexander's clone, Yuzuru rushed into Kaguya's arms, and the two embraced tightly.

Overhead, the storm that had mirrored their conflict began to dissipate. Sunlight broke through the clouds, casting a warm glow on the reunited sisters. The scene was serene, a striking contrast to the chaos that had just unfolded.

Alexander watched silently, a satisfied smile on his face. He hadn't killed Yuzuru. Instead, he had used the lightning to temporarily incapacitate her and then sent a clone to save her. He had orchestrated the entire scene to force the sisters to confront their feelings.

As Kaguya and Yuzuru clung to each other, their tears of sorrow turned into those of relief and understanding. Alexander knew the rift between them had been healed.

One had been willing to die for the other, while the other had resolved to avenge her sibling. Their bond had surpassed all misunderstandings.

"You see now?" Alexander murmured. "Sometimes, it takes a little chaos to uncover the truth."
