Chapter 0575: Youngsters Are to Be Feared

There were only two low stools in the room, and Luo Yang took a seat on one.

The Left and Right Protectors stood next to Luo Yang.

"What brings you here?" asked Grandma Liu.

"Grandma Liu, let me introduce these two first, one is Old Du, and the other is Old Huang. I've invited them to the village to teach martial arts," Luo Yang said with a smile.

Grandma Liu nodded.

At this moment, the Left Protector said, "We offended you last night, and we're truly sorry. There was no ill intent, just curiosity."

Hearing this, Grandma Liu and Little Huizi understood what had happened.

"I may look like an old bag of bones, but I've practiced martial arts too. I thought you were robbers, that's why I fought so desperately. Thankfully, you showed restraint. It was all a misunderstanding," Grandma Liu said with a laugh.

"From now on, we're all living in the same village, watching out for each other," said the Left Protector.

On the surface, the two sides made peace.

Then Luo Yang took Little Huizi's pulse; it was still the pulse of illness, certainly not that of a healthy person.

Luo Yang asked, "Grandma Liu, what exactly is ailing Little Huizi?"

Grandma Liu replied with a grave expression, "It's the inability to diagnose her condition that worries me. Look at her, she's getting thinner and thinner."

Compared to other children her age, Little Huizi didn't seem particularly thin.

Of course, next to well-fed children from good families, she did appear a little smaller.

Looking just at Little Huizi's complexion, it was slightly pale, lacking any hint of color.

But Luo Yang knew that the grandmother and granddaughter were not here to seek medical treatment.

Just last night, Little Huizi had skimmed over the surface of a pond, a feat that, on its own, was incredible.

At such a young age, to be so skilled.

If he had not seen it with his own eyes, Luo Yang would not have believed it was true.

Now looking at the child-like Little Huizi before him, it was hard to comprehend who she truly was.

From her commanding presence, she seemed like a very mature child, and there was a hint of ruthlessness about her.

For a moment, Luo Yang truly wanted to ask the two directly.

But to do so would be akin to tearing off the facade.

Whether it would lead to a fight on the spot, that was an unknown.

In a flash of thought, Luo Yang said, "Little Huizi's condition is very complex. From my perspective, we should first strengthen her constitution and make her body healthier, then we'll examine her situation further. In the coming days, I will prepare some herbal pills for Little Huizi to take regularly."

"Doctor Luo, thank you so much. How much will it cost?" Grandma Liu asked with gratitude.

Luo Yang waved his hand, "We'll not discuss payment for now. Once Little Huizi's condition improves, you can pay whatever you feel is appropriate."

Grandma Liu was overjoyed upon hearing this.

"Doctor Luo, you're too kind," she praised.

"I have an exam this afternoon and need to go back and study. I won't disturb you any further," Luo Yang said.

He left with the Left and Right Protectors, bidding farewell to the grandmother and granddaughter.

Lang Yifeng had been waiting downstairs; when he saw Luo Yang coming down, he followed.

After walking a bit, Lang Yifeng spoke in a low voice, "Master, last night two people wearing masks came to take Grandma Liu and Little Huizi away. They've come back since then."

Luo Yang had originally planned to reveal the truth to Lang Yifeng, but fearing he might let something slip, he had refrained.

Even now, it wasn't appropriate to tell him the truth, so he said with a smile, "It's nothing to worry about. If something like this happens again, call me immediately. I'll come right over."

Lang Yifeng nodded, "Master, I'll remember that. By the way, doesn't having Grandma Liu and Little Huizi stay here pose a risk?"

Lang Yifeng, who had been a bully in the Hongyun Brigade for many years and feared nothing, now showed such concern, something Luo Yang saw for the first time.

Luo Yang patted Lang Yifeng on the shoulder and said with a smile, "It's fine, let them stay. I still have to treat them. You should refrain from prying into their affairs too much. Curiosity killed the cat. Weren't you saying you're going to refurbish the shed today?"

The topic shifted, dispersing Lang Yifeng's focus.

"We'll start today. I'll just call someone later to take care of it," Lang Yifeng replied.

After chatting for a few more sentences, Lang Yifeng finally returned home.

Just like Lang Yifeng, the Left and Right Protectors also worried that even though the granddaughter and grandmother no longer openly held a grudge, they might cause trouble for them in secret.

"Young man, I didn't expect to find such a strong person in this rural place. I truly opened my eyes," the Left Protector said with worry.

"Old Du, stay calm. Once your Eagle Claw Technique and Goose Walking Skill improve a few more levels, you won't need to fear them. It's like playing chess; don't you want to match skills with a master rather than just bullying the weak?" Luo Yang said with a cold laugh.

He heard the Left Protector wanting to back out, to leave the Hongyun Brigade.

Spurred on by Luo Yang's taunt, the Left Protector said, "Young man, at my age, what do I have to fear if I lose my life? Please continue to guide us both."

Luo Yang nodded, "If you study diligently, I will help you improve your strength as soon as I can."

Both the Left and Right Protectors were excited to hear Luo Yang's promise.

They had practiced martial arts all their lives, and despite not having met a great teacher and relying only on hard work, they had developed solid martial arts skills. However, they ultimately could not reach the high level and kept hovering in the medium to lower tiers.

Now that they had met Luo Yang, the Left and Right Protectors suddenly felt as if they had regained a dozen years of youth. They knew that as long as they followed Luo Yang, an improvement in their skills was imminent.

Luo Yang didn't want to continue talking about Grandma Liu and Little Huizi, for fear of scaring the Left and Right Protectors.

He changed the subject, "Old Huang, how strong is the Sect Leader of the Ying Zhao Yan Xing Sect?"

The two were protectors of the Ying Zhao Yan Xing Sect; no one knew the Sect Leader better than them.

The Right Protector answered, "Young man, to be honest with you, the Sect Leader of the Ying Zhao Yan Xing Sect, Qi Dongqiu, is a bit stronger than us both. Even if he has been in secluded cultivation, he won't improve by much."

This was tantamount to saying Qi Dongqiu was no match for Luo Yang.

Luo Yang guessed as much and was not surprised.

However, after a pause, the Right Protector continued, "Qi Dongqiu challenging Young Man, he would probably not be your opponent, but…"

Just as Luo Yang was all ears, eager to hear more, the Left Protector coughed twice.

Therefore, the Right Protector shut his mouth.

There must be some unspeakable secret here, and Luo Yang wanted to get to the bottom of it.

"Old Du, Old Huang, aren't we family?" Luo Yang appealed to their emotions.

The Left Protector was somewhat cunning, while the Right Protector was more straightforward.

"Young man, of course we are family," the Left Protector replied.

"If we're family, why do you hesitate to tell me things, afraid that I'll take advantage of you after hearing it?" Luo Yang said with a cold laugh.

The Left Protector chuckled with an embarrassed look as if hiding something.

"Old Huang, you really can't tell me, or I'll become immortal?" Luo Yang stared at the Right Protector.

"Young man, this matter…" the Right Protector faltered.

Just as the Right Protector seemed ready to spill, the Left Protector interfered again.

"Old Huang, you can eat your food carelessly, but you can't speak carelessly," the Left Protector reminded.

At that, the Right Protector fell silent again.

Luo Yang felt like kicking the Left Protector away.

Changing his approach, Luo Yang said lightly, "I am willing to pass on my high-level martial arts to you, but you treat me as an outsider? Where is your conscience?"

Both the Left and Right Protectors hung their heads after hearing this.

The Left Protector, although vain and crafty, was still a man who followed the rules.

Luo Yang had indeed been very kind to them and was willing to help them improve their skills.

Just considering this favor alone was enough for the Left and Right Protectors to feel grateful.
