The faint morning light filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the room. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, I found myself lying next to Del, the memories of last night returning in rapid flashes.

There was a pang of regret that washed over me as I recalled the whirlwind of emotions and decisions that had led to this moment. I never wanted to be the person who just nails and bails, leaving without a word, especially not with someone like Del.

As I watched Del sleep peacefully, I grappled with conflicting thoughts. Regret lingered, yes, but there was also a sense of responsibility nudging at my conscience. I couldn't simply slip away without a word, leaving him wondering what had happened or feeling used. That wasn’t who I wanted to be. So, despite my own reservations and the twinge of regret, I made a silent vow to stay until Del woke up.
