Let's Spar

Chapter 7

Let's spar

"Arrrgh!"

Jarvis fell on his knees, clutching his head with tears in his eyes. The memories flowed in like a broken dam.

In the predecessor's life, there are only three people that have treated him with care and affection one was his mother, the other was Marco, and lastly, he's martial teacher, retainer, and only crush Sylvia.

"Sylvia is.....my teacher," Jarvis murmured, the old hazy memories of the predecessor finally clearing up. Scenes of life that felt both familiar and alien flashed before him.

Suddenly, the pain in Jarvis head started easing up and clearing. He stood up. "I finally remember everything," he murmured.

"Knock! Knock! knock!"

"Young master are you there?" Sylvia voice was mixed with a hint of concern

"Yes, yes, I am coming," Jarvis ran towards the door. With a deep breath, he opened he door.

A stunningly beautiful woman stepped in, her long silver braids danced in the air, wearing a casual top with baggy trousers, a jacket, and a black cap to round it off."

Jarvis couldn't help but skip a heartbeat. He stood there dazed, staring at Sylvia

"Ummm, Young Master, is there something on my face?" Sylvia asked a bit puzzled

"No, nothing. I was just lost in thought," he's cheek reddening with a flustered face, "But sylvia, why are you he–"

Before jarvis could finish he's sentence a shuffle of footsteps we're heard behind sylvia. A familiar silhouette came in front of his view

"Hey, young master Jarvis, looks like you had quite a day here," Marco said, staring at the damaged pathway and balcony of the house.

"Marco? Is that really you, Marco?" Jarvis was shocked at the sudden development

"Haha, who else could it be young master." Marco let out a relief smile."Mind telling me about what happened while I was gone, Young Master"

"I was attacked by the lycon gang again, three of their members. This time, they came with weapons, probably wanting to beat me to death. " Jarvis looked at the ground, he's eyes gleaming with rage.

"Hehe, brat, if the lycon gang wanted to kill you, won't you already be dead." A dark skin man with a buzz cut walked in after Marco.

"Especially with Marco not being with you, how will you be able to survive the attack from three men?" Staring at Jarvis with disdain flashing in his eyes.

"Well, can you explain yourself, Young Master?!" The man said while grabbing Jarvis shirt by the collar, shouting at his face.

"Hey brook, leave the kid now. Whether he's lying or not, we'll find out. There's no point in bullying the kid now, especially if what is saying is true. " Another dark skin man said as he walked in, his dreadlocks swaying to and fro

"Like hell I would!" Brook shouted in front of their faces

"Ever since the young master was born, he had reckless, abusive, and a good for nothing waste. He has never done a single thing right!"

"He's been useless, I bet he's the reason boss removed us from the gang. After all, there's no way the boss will like a useless son, right?"

"Even that bitch of a mother was implicat–" Before brook could finish he's sentence another voice interrupted

"What did you just call my mother." Jarvis said softly, his eyes still staring at the ground, he's face solemn the only hint of emotion was the rage and murderous intent that flashed in his eyes.

"You didn't hear? She's a bitch that tried everything she could to have her way with the boss? Only to be abandoned later." Brook said with a smile plastered on his face.

"First off, you barge into my home. Secondly, you accuse me of lying when there's still concrete evidence of the men, even their weapons.

Jarvis spoke quite softly, but everyone there could hear he's voice as if he was right beside their ear.

"Third, you slander me calling me a good for nothing, and lastly, you made the biggest mistake you've ever made in your entire life."

"You slandered my mum." Jarvis said he's voice reverberating with icy coldness

The whole atmosphere changed. Goosebumps crept onto Brook's skin. He's back full of cold sweat.

"You surely do have a bone to pick with me, don't you?" Jarvis stepped forward, his eyes locked eye contact with Brook.

"And what are you going to do about it, kid?" Brook sneered, trying to hide the unease caused by jarvis sudden shift in demeanor had installed in him. But Jarvis could hear the tremor in his voice, the slight falter that betrayed his previous bravado.

"You admitted, huh?" Jarvis took another step closer, his gaze like a predator cornering a prey, his voice steady and chilling."Then let me show you what happens when you cross the line you should never have cross"

In that moment, Jarvis hand moved in a fast, yet fluid motion, it was casual, seemingly effortless.

Jarvis reached up and grasped Brook's wrist, his firm grip were like iron pincers, creaking sounds were audible from Brook's arm.

"Arrrgh, my arm!" Brook screamed like a madman

Jarvis simply ignored him. "This is your last warning," he said, his tone calm but deadly serious. "Let go of my shirt, and let's settle it my way."

Brook hesitated, his mind warring between compliance and conflict. But something in Jarvis's eyes screamed at him that continuing this conflict would be bad. He's bravado deflated, brook unwillingly released his grip backing off while eyeing Jarvis warily.

"Do you think I'll let you off that easily" Jarvis took a step closer. "You have already angry, so why don't you help me vent my anger too!"

Jarvis said two words that shocked everybody

"Let's spar." Jarvis said while stretching on the spot.

Brook's eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Jarvis's challenge hung in the air, a daring invitation that demanded a response.

The room previous atmosphere became so intense everyone seemed to feel the weight of the impending clash.

"You want to spar with me?" Brook scoffed trying to regain some of his earlier bravado. You think you can take me on, just like that?"

Jarvis didn't reply immediately. Instead, he rolled his shoulders, his movements fluid and relaxed, as if he were preparing for a casual exercise rather than a confrontation. There was a palpable energy that crackled in the air.

"Cut the bullshit and come and fight Brook." Jarvis said he's eyes dead serious, carrying a sharp edge. "Or do you only have a sharp mouth?"

Brook's pride flared up, "A lowly bastard that hasn't seen the world wants to fight against me" he said as he lunged forward, his fists swinging with brute force.

But Jarvis merely hissed as he sidestepped the attack with ease and precision, his agility was almost two times that of Brook.

"Is it with this strength you want to spar with me," jarvis said with he's hand on Brook's shoulder

"If you continue like this, you will just be a waste of my time." Jarvis removed his hand from brook's shoulder."I guess I will have to kill you as well, you know?" Jarvis eyes showed the murderous intent he previously hid.
