Chapter 11
Duel with Sylvia
"Why not?" Jarvis said while propping himself while putting he's hand's in front of his face, a defensive posture that was common in boxing.
"No, not here, Young Master. I think this place should be better." Sylvia said as she took Jarvis's hand and led him to the back of the mansion.
"Here we are,"
A grass plain came into view, birds chirping and flying about, leaves dancing in the air, and subtle winds blowing throughout the area.
Jarvis expression subtly changed, a sense of relaxation coursed through Jarvis body, the brilliant sun providing him warmth. "Sylvia indeed, this place is a lot of times better than the mansion for a spar."
"Since Young master has said so, then let's battle here," Sylvia smiled subtly, forming a stance
Jarvis also made his own stance, standing on his toes and putting he's hand's in front of him. Occasionally, he'll jog on the spot,
This was an ideal kickboxing stance that was quite common for agile boxers, something jarvis felt was fit for him after fighting the three masked men.
"Last time Sylvia made a move against Brook, I couldn't even catch a glimpse of her movements." Jarvis thought, his eyes locked unto Sylvia.
"If I take my eyes off her even if it is in just a moment, I'll possibly end up in a sorry state, I'll need to concentrate on her next move in order to know my best course of action."
Sylvia seeing Jarvis like that couldn't help but tease him, her face full of amusement.
"Ooohhh, it seems like the Young Mastsr finally has some guts. But that alone isn't enough to beat me in a spar, you know?"
"Whoosh!"
With a sudden burst of energy, Sylvia executed a series of backflips, creating a wide distance between them. Her movements were nimble and agile, each flip done with grace and precision. And then she paused, standing still, her eyes casually sweeping over Jarvis.
Throughout the process her movement were fluid, her stance poised and balanced, exuding a calm confidence that was both inspiring and intimidating.
"Such a stance," even from the distance Jarvis could feel the pressure she exudes, he's intuition told him if he ever wants to stand a chance against Sylvia, he will have to give his all or he wouldn't even come close to matching her skill.
"Haah," he took a deep breath, centering himself. "Here goes nothing." Jarvis steadied himself, the grass underneath his feet, and the feeling of rays of sunlight on his skin gave off a somewhat comforting energy.
"Let's do this." Jarvis muttered to himself.
He launched forward, speedily closing the gap he reached Sylvia,
Swoosh! swoosh! swoosh!
He immediately struck with three punches, all of him at breakneck speed, forming a blur of coordinated strikes. He followed up with some of the taekwondo and krav maga.
Unfortunately for Jarvis, it wasn't an ordinary gang member he was fighting with.
Sylvia sidestepped with ease, a pout appeared on her beautiful face. "Young Master it's really weird. Why can't you control your strength?"
"Sylvia, what do you mean?" Jarvis asked casually, not forgetting to launch a flurry of blows.
"Young master, do you know how many percent of their strength an average person can use." Sylvia said,
a playful smile crept on her lips, her fluid movements dodged all jarvis blows and broke out of his reach.
Jarvis was still puzzled, but he did not think much of Sylvia's questions. For him, the biggest priority was to end this match and find out more about the lycon gang.
Anything else would have to be put on hold, so he just downright ignored Sylvia's question rather than finding out the answers to Sylvia question, he would prefer to spot the gaps in her defence.
"Found it." Just as he was about to make his move, Sylvia continued.
"Young Master, an average man can use is about 30-40% of his strength, but Young Master I can't gauge yours easily,"
"But If I am correct, Young Master your physique should currently be about 2 times that of an average man, and if that's true, then Young Master you're only utilising 15-20% of your strength."
"So what are you saying, Sylvia?" Unlike before Jarvis now showed a little concern after all it involved his own strength but he still aimed at Sylvia.
"Young Master, simply put if an average man can punch out 70kg, then you'll only punch 90-105kg even though your physique is 2 times that of the former."
Jarvis was shocked when he heard this, "So Sylvia, what you're saying is that because I can't control my strength well, I can barely have an edge over an average person.
"Yes, Young Master." Sylvia confirmed it. "Normally, this only happens when there is an abrupt increase in your strength or physique."
"Has Young Master increased his strength by a huge amount lately?"
As soon as she said that, Jarvis instantly recalled the panel and adding points to his attributes,
"Increase? Could it be because of the stat points I allocated? So, adding points to the attributes does have its drawback." Jarvis muttered to himself, seemingly enlightened.
"Sylvia, I did increase my strength a bit. Do you know how I can fix this?"Jarvis looked towards Sylvia. after learning about such a drawback he wanted to find out how to stop it.
Sylvia quickly approached Jarvis, examining his body, sometimes holding his arms, sometimes feeling his muscles and scrutinising his upper body.
After some time she let out a smile. "Young Master, yours is not as serious as I thought. Currently, you have three choices that could fix your lack of power,"
"The first one is to exercise, a full body exercise is best something like a fight or..." Sylvia paused a naughty smile formed on her face.
"Or...?" Jarvis urged her to continue with some anticipation
"Or.... Young Master can do what a man and woman do on the bed. This is the fastest and easiest out of the three choices for you,"
"Well, that's only if Young Master is an adult." Sylvia said while putting on a smirk.
Jarvis face flushed, his cheeks reddened. Right now, He could only think about pinning Sylvia down and showing why a man is a man.
But he decided against it in the end. He couldn't even touch Sylvia now, let alone pinning Sylvia down even at his best he will probably only be able to graze her clothes at best.
But she didn't stop there. She still edged Jarvis on, "If you want to do it, I can guide you through the whole process, I'll even through in some bonuses and perks."
"What about it, Young Master." Sylvia put on a Victorious smile as she saw Jarvis face redden from his cheeks up to his ears.
"Just tell me the next choice I have." Jarvis face darkened, but his ears betrayed his mood as they were tinged with a bit of red
"Pfft!"
Seeing Jarvis like this, Sylvia couldn't help but break into laughter and could only hold it after some time.
"Okay, Young Master the third method of fixing this is simply by utilising martial arts technique."
"But isn't that what I was using to fight against you?" Jarvis asked with a puzzled expression, still trying to understand why even though he used he's martial art he couldn't fix the problem.
Sylvia let out a wry smile to this "Well, how should I put his in a good way," after some thinking Sylvia continued "Young Master your techniques is barely at a beginners level so it hardly provides any assistance to harnessing your strength."
"Young Master just spar with me, like how you were doing it before. This time, I won't dodge or block, only redirect and fix your technique." Sylvia subtlety said.
Whoosh!
Jarvis didn't even reply but rushed at Sylvia, aiming a punch at her jaw, unfortunately the hit didn't connect, rather Sylvia redirected it to the side.
Bam!
Crunch!
The punch hit a thin tree in the garden leaving a wide crack with visible prints of Jarvis knuckles.
[Your skill Kickboxing has increased in proficiency]
[Your skill Kickboxing has levelled up]
Jarvis stared wide-eyed at the prompts. "The skill levelled up just like that?" The prompts flashed out as soon as he finished reading them
"Continue," Sylvia said by his side, gesturing him to continue to attack with his skill.
