XV: He Almost Hated Her

"Woah." Angela smiled softly. "You look so nonchalant I thought you didn't have a heart." It was a joke, but he didn't even twitch his lips. She twitched hers. "Anyway, your reason for becoming a bodyguard is quite..." She searched her mind for the right word as she looked down and stared at the chessboard. "Cute?" It came out as a question instead.

"You have a problem." She laughed at his words, and he stood up.

"Should you be saying that to your master, though?" She stood up as well, looking at him with a grin and teasing glint in her eyes.

Zayden chuckled. He walked and stopped before her, tilting his head as he looked down at her. "Oh, princess, I shall speak however I want with you." The words slipped from his lips, and he blinked. He stared at her widened eyes and the red tint on her cheeks. He loved the sight. The thought crossed his mind before he could even think about it.
