XXXI: The Glowing Lake

Angela tugged on Zayden's arm, guiding him to sit beside her on the lake shore. He complied, folding his legs as she did. She reached out to touch the water, her fingers dipping into its cool surface. Though the sun had not fully set, the lake was already glowing, shifting between hues of blue and purple, as if reflecting the twilight sky above.

"You finally get to see it," she said, her voice soft with excitement. She looked at him with a wide smile, her eyes sparkling in the fading light. "The Glowing Lake." She glanced back at her hand, now bathed in the iridescent light emanating from the water.
