"I was certain you had outgrown this, Angela." Henry's voice boomed with anger as he glared down at his daughter. The sitting room was brightly lit with candles as it was late, but the atmosphere felt heavy with tension. Angela hadn't even fully stepped inside before her father began his tirade.

Angela remained silent, her gaze fixed on the floor.

"I thought you'd gained some sense since Zayden became your bodyguard. What do you think you're doing, running out of your father's house? Do you want to end up in a mental institution?!" His eyes blazed with fury.

"It's because of you," Angela replied softly yet firmly, her voice steady despite the storm brewing around her. Her stepmother and stepsister sat nearby, watching with smug expressions as her father unleashed his wrath. She loathed them both.

"What?" Henry was taken aback by her response.
