Gian was stunned. He really didn't expect that someone else would enter his room. Tedo looked calm as he pushed the stainless rack onto the table. Gian pretended not to think Tedo's question was important. He got off the bed and stood next to the food shelf.
"I'm going to get dressed and wash my hands," he said happily and left.
Tedo smiled and began arranging the food and drinks on the table. Gian entered the bathroom and closed the door hastily.
"Damn! What if they find out? Will ... I get punished?" Gian asked with a stifled voice. He walked back and forth in front of the sink mirror venting his panic.
[Something like this has happened before. I warned you. Now, there is no more tolerance. The system will reduce 50% of Lux Osiris' charisma if Gian Everest's identity is revealed. Duration of punishment period: as long as the Host is connected to the Showbiz system]
Gian's eyes were wide open. "Fifty percent? Crazy! That means forever!" he shouted.
"Young Master Lux? Are you all right?" asked Tedo from behind the bathroom door.
"Yes! I'll be right out!" he shouted, standing up nervously.
Gian hurriedly changed as he promised by putting on his pajamas. Followed by washing his hands and face. Gian stared at Lux's handsome face intently, trying to calm his heart that was panic-stricken because of his carelessness.
"You will be fine, Lux. I will take care of you," Gian said as he closed his eyes and patted his broad chest. He came out of the bathroom quietly and sat on a chair.
"Who is Justin? You seem so happy that you're jumping up and down on the bed. I'm sorry if my arrival has spoiled your happiness, Young master," Tedo asked as he poured tea into a cup.
Gian's heart beat fast. Yes, he was used to improvising on stage. But this was different. There were other things at stake.
'It's bad! Tedo seems to be an inquisitive man. I have to be careful!' he thought to himself.
"Oh, my research. Do you remember what I said a while ago, if you catch me talking to myself?" Tedo nodded slowly. "That means, I'm testing something," Lux replied quibbling as he took a piece of fresh fruit.
"I'm still curious about your kind of research, Young master," Tedo said which made Gian feel depressed.
Why was this servant full of high curiosity like his sister Rin? Z's remark about Lux's charisma being reduced by 50% made him cringe. Gian was not ready to be ugly anymore.
"You said I locked myself up in my room for three days, right?" Tedo nodded in confirmation. "I was trying to open my mind and horizons. All this time, I've been oppressed and constrained by all kinds of tedious rules. I want a change. Well, to achieve that, there are some things I do like pretending to talk to someone. Justin, is the figure that I'm imagining is talking to me," Lux replied pretentiously then fed his mouth with melon slices.
"Ah, I see. If so, go to the library. There, you will find a lot of new knowledge about public speaking," Tedo said which made Gian stare at him intently.
"Library? We have a library?" asked Lux amazed.
Tedo looked at Lux closely. He seemed to be nervous about something as he turned his face away. "Yes, you used to go there often, but not anymore," he replied with a downcast look.
'What is he hiding? I can see that Tedo is covering up something,' Gian's mind was full of curiosity.
"Why have I never been there again? I like reading, especially comics," Lux answered honestly.
Tedo smiled. "You're busy, Young master Lux. That's why, you've never visited again."
"Alright, accompany me. However, eat first and then study. The brain needs plenty of nourishment before it works hard to read those pages," Lux replied and ate the food eagerly.
Tedo smiled. Lux asked him to eat together, but he refused. Gian who felt uncomfortable, forced Tedo to eat at least one plate. If he refused, he would not allow Tedo to be by his side anymore. The waitress finally relented.
"Alright. Just one piece of cake and a cup of tea," he said as he sat down despite looking forced.
"Good!" exclaimed Lux happily which made Tedo smile too. "Oh, I forgot to mention my wish to father about recruiting you to be my personal assistant," Lux continued with a lazy face.
"Mr. Maximo is at home. It's a good time to talk to him, Young master," Tedo replied as he stirred his tea after being given sugar.
"For some reason, it feels lazy to deal with those two humans. Why do I have to have an annoying older sister like Heidi and a monster-like father? What a perfect life," Lux grumbled and stuffed the stir-fried vegetables into his mouth.
Tedo just smiled hearing his young master pouring out all the feelings. After eating, as promised, Lux accompanied by Tedo went to the library. Naturally, the caretaker of the room that had been taking care of the books was surprised that their young master came again after many years of not visiting.
"Young Master Lux!" a guard greeted with a beaming face.
"Hey. Please find me a book on public speaking. Just two," Lux asked as the man nodded.
Gian looked around in amazement as the room was completely filled with all sorts of books. He saw that the bookshelves covered the entire wall. There were 10 stacks and they towered upwards. There was a wooden ladder that could be moved to make it easier for the guard to take the books at the top.
"Ancient, but cool," Lux said admiringly.
As Lux wandered around to look at the books that came within arm's reach, he came across an old magazine. However, his accidental discovery made his eyes widen. There was a photo of a real human on the cover of the magazine. A young girl, wearing a large hat and gloves like royalty, even though the cover was black and white. Tedo went to Lux because he saw that his young master seemed to be surprised by something.
"Jon! Why is this magazine still kept? Burn it!" he shouted which made Lux immediately move away from Tedo.
Jon who was walking hurriedly towards Lux, immediately stopped his steps in confusion. Tedo looked at his young master nervously.
"This magazine has an original photo of a model. I don't know when it was made, and I don't know who she is. However, this proves that in this country, it was once common to use original printed photos for commercial purposes. Why is this not applied anymore?" Lux asked, looking at the two men sharply as he rolled up the magazine.
"That was a long time ago, Young master. Perhaps, we weren't born back then either," Jon replied explaining, but Lux shook his head disapprovingly.
"I will keep it. If anyone dares to take this thing away from me, or it disappears suddenly, I will burn down this library!" he threatened with his heart pounding.
Actually, Gian was just bluffing. He just wanted to see how the two servants would respond. He did not have the heart to burn hundreds or even thousands of books that had been well stored in the library.
"Y-you're going to burn down the library? However, this is an important asset, Young master. You can't do that! You have many memories in this room. Therefore, we take good care of it!" exclaimed Jon, but suddenly lowered his face as Tedo glared at him sharply.
"I can see that, Tedo. What have you been hiding from me all this time?" Lux asked, looking sharply at his servant, but Tedo chose to remain silent. "Tell me! Or I'll throw you out of this house! Answer me!"
Suddenly, Lux's words stunned Tedo and Jon. Both of them stood still with their eyes wide open. Lux looked serious with his threat.
