Bill knew that if his younger siblings found out what happened today, the strong image he had built would instantly crumble! The dignified CEO of Rose International had mistaken someone else for his bride while registering the marriage! And a month later, he would have to come back to file for divorce!!!
Anger brewed in Bill's chest with no outlet for release. Just then, his mother called again.
Bill didn't want to answer, but knowing his mother's fiery temper, he had no choice. His voice, however, clearly conveyed his displeasure.
On the other end, his mother spoke anxiously, "Bill, Honey just called. She was in a car accident and can't make it. I'm going to see her now. Did you really register the marriage as you said? Or were you lying? You promised, didn't you? Did you back out and not go at all?"
Bill's mother couldn't help but reprimand him over the phone. She had been worried sick about his marriage. He wasn't interested in socialites, nor was he involved with celebrities. As his mother, she had even started to think he liked men. Finally, when an ordinary girl she approved of came along, he reluctantly agreed to the marriage because Honey had saved her life. She had thought she would finally have a daughter-in-law.
"Mom, I didn't lie to you. I really did register, but I got the wrong person."
"What?" Bill's mother was incredulous.
"Who is the other person?" She could barely process the unexpected turn of events.
Bill replied with the last ounce of his patience, "It's a woman."
His mother was speechless. "I know it's a woman! I'm asking if you looked into her background. Could she be someone who knows who you are and has ulterior motives?"
Bill's mother calmed down, already thinking of how to resolve the situation. After all, she was from a wealthy family and had seen plenty of crises, so she quickly regained her composure.
"I'll handle the investigation! I'll divorce her in a month!"
Bill was still fuming, recalling Juliet's expression as if he had ruined her mission.
His mother spoke coolly, "Yes, hurry up and get the divorce sorted, then pick a good day to register with Honey."
Bill couldn't understand his mother's insistence on Honey. So what if she had saved her life? Just give her enough benefits! Or take care of her family—why did it have to be marriage?
"Mom, I promised you I'd get married, but no matter who it is, I'll only marry once! I'm not seeing Honey again, and I'm definitely not marrying her!"
"Yes, leave her to one of your brothers! I don't need her!"
Bill hung up the phone fiercely, his face as cold as ice.
Three minutes later, Bill sat in a black Rolls-Royce. Seeing his grim expression, the driver was extra careful. The bodyguards and assistants didn't dare to breathe.
Bill, his face still icy, dialed the butler's number and ordered in a low voice, "Butler, investigate a woman named Juliet."
Meanwhile, Honey lay in the hospital bed, unable to stop her tears. It was all that woman's fault! Damn it!
If it weren't for that woman suddenly rushing out, she wouldn't have crashed her car! She had only run a red light! It wasn't a big deal! She had seen the child and wouldn't have hit him!
That woman had suddenly rushed out to push the child away, scaring her into swerving and crashing into a barrier! Her second-hand car, which she had bought on a loan, was totaled…
Originally, she would have registered the marriage today and escaped her impoverished life. She planned to use some tricks during the marriage, accuse Bill of marital rape, then divorce him to take half of his wealth! But everything was ruined by that woman who suddenly appeared!
Honey clenched her fists, her red nails resembling bloodstains. "Just wait, Bill. Not only your body, but your money will be mine!!!"
