Morning had broken, the sky painted in soft hues of gold and blue. Birds flitted overhead, their chirping filling the crisp air with life.
Nameless, Tidalia, and the Samaritan had remained alert throughout the night, their weary eyes scanning the horizon. Now, with dawn stretching over them, they found themselves nearing Mount Kenton—a place shrouded in mystery.
The mountain, named after the state of Kenton, stood apart, severed from the main land by water. Though it belonged to Kenton, it felt isolated, as if existing in its own domain. Villages dotted its slopes, small clusters of life thriving in its shadow. Yet, Mount Kenton was not famous for its villages.
It was known for them.
Two immortal siblings.
The siblings—Raleum, the woman, and Yndis, the man.
