Chapter 89: The frustration of the mysterious figure

"Do you dislike it so much...?"

Kian asked, his voice laced with a hint of hurt as he saw the disappointment clouding Yohan's features. "A future like I dreamed of?"

Yohan quickly realized his reaction had caused a misunderstanding. He mentally scrambled for the right words to explain himself, flustered by the sudden turn of events.

"You misunderstood..." he stammered, feeling his mind go blank. "I'm not disappointed about what was in your dream... but..."

How could he articulate this without sounding contradictory? He wanted to express that while he was happy Kian dreamt of a future with him - adoption and all - but at the same time, he was also saddened that their past life wasn't reflected in Kian's dream.

Deciding on an approach that prioritized honesty and affection over convoluted explanations, Yohan reached up and gently kissed Kian on the cheek.
