Monster Attack

Pant... pant...

'No, this can't be happening,' Oliver thought in disbelief. He had fear in his eyes as he ran in the streets.

"How could there be no prior warning? What went wrong?" One man shouted nearby as he was also fleeing this scene.

The scene was very chaotic, with people running in every direction, some stumbling, and some just standing with fear.

A loud siren was blaring, it was going louder and louder with each passing second.

"Everyone, the base is being attacked by the monsters. Head towards inner areas." Oliver heard a sound and looked in that direction.

It was a public protection bureau officer. The officer had a heroic face and continued to shout commands.

"Run. I'll try to stop whatever gets in the way."

As the officer said this with firm voice, his hand turned sharp, and he rushed towards the direction of the outer eastern district where the monster attacked without hesitation.

Looking at the officer, Oliver tightly gripped his emergency bag, which he hastily picked up from the street.

'This isn't supposed to happen!' Oliver thought with panic

The city was surrounded by high walls. Even if a monster attacked, there would be prior warning, and at least people could take shelter early.

But this time, there was nothing. No warning, No preperation.

"Why, why weren't we warned?" An old woman shouted with panic as she was sitting helplessly on the ground.

"Someone save me. I don't want to die," she pleaded, but there was no one to rescue her as their own lives were in danger.

Oliver pushed forward, running through the panicked crowd. He even noticed people who had awakened their combat powers escaping. He felt a guy rush past him with inhuman speed.

'Shit... I wish I could awaken my powers.'

He thought bitterly, but people only awaken at the approximate age of 16 which is last year of school and now he was just 1 month away from awakening.

BOOM! BOOM!

There was an explosion and ground around him shook violently. He instinctively turned back to look at the direction of explosion.

'Justin… Justin. I hope he is fine'.

Looking at the explosion, he couldn't help but tremble. Justin house was the area where the explosion happened.

He had just been to Justin's house and was returning home when this disaster occurred.

Justin house was on the edge of the eastern sector, and it seemed like it was the first area to be attacked by the monsters.

As time passed, the sirens grew louder and louder, indicating that the monsters were getting closer. He could even hear them screeching somewhere nearby.

There was no time to keep thinking. His life also was in danger. His goal now was to reach a safe place. He must survive this nightmare.

But at this moment, an accident occurred.

A piece of small stone was flying at fast speed and its direction was towards him. Before he could see anything, the debris hit his back.

"Ahhhh,"

He didn't know what hit him, but he stumbled forward and hit his face directly into the sidewalk. As a result, his vision became shaky, and he couldn't see properly.

He grunted and forced himself to sit up. His whole body was in pain as a result of the fall. His head throbbed with dull pain, and his back gave a sharp twinge.

At this moment, when he was feeling pain and world around him was spinning, he felt a great danger coming from a direction like a predator watching his prey. Slowly, in fear, he glanced in the direction.

'This is it'. Am I really going to die just like this?' This thought couldn't help but come into his mind.

"No, no, it's looking straight at me," he muttered, unable to express the fear in his mind.

At this moment, there were also screams from nearby people.

"Look at that monster, it is flying."

"No wonder the city didn't give any prior warning. It was those cunning monsters who attacked."

"RUN, DON'T STOP."

Seeing the monster, people panicked and ran even faster.

The flying monster was a massive creature with bony wings and dark eyes. Those dark eyes were straight looking at him.

It opened his mouth, showing rows of razorsharp teeth. It had a look of ecstasy as it looked at him as if he were a delicious meal.

The monster was flying straight towards him.

But he was helpless. Due to his head banging on the sidewalk. He saw not one but 3 blurry monster flying towards him

He tried to move—to get up and run—but the pain and fear paralyzed him. At this moment he was in great pain too, as his head was bulging as if something was tearing it apart from inside.

The monster was only 100 meters away and time was running out for him.

'This is it i am the most useless transmigrator' just then suddenly something strange happened.

The pain in his head vanished, and the world began to slow down in his eyes.

The monster, which was seconds away from him, stopped. The panicked people were also frozen, with a still panicked expression shown in their faces.

'Chance, I must run away.'

He didn't know what was happening, but he knew this was his best chance to escape. With this thought, he tried to move his body.

But the moment he moved his legs, his vision began to go blurry again.

"What the ---" His words trailed off as he felt like his consciousness began to travel. Like it was traveling to a very far place away from this chaos and destruction.

----

At this moment in the streets, the flying monster that tried to hunt Oliver stopped in confusion.

It's prey that was supposed to be his meal disappeared in front of him. Slowly, it screeched in confusion and frustration.

It circled the area to search for his prey, which had disappeared. It was searching for Oliver but couldn't find him. After searching for some time, the monster lost interest and began to hunt other fleeing humans.

The eastern section of the city has been attacked, and the public bureau was trying their best to attack these monsters and protect the city.

The biggest issue is that when the flying monsters attack any city around the human federation, the casualties at the beginning are the highest.

As no one is prepared for their attack, especially in these kind of weak city where there are not many strong combat awakeners at duty.

Fires raged in the distance, and the cries of the injured echoed through the air.

The other branches of bureau were also gathering toward the eastern section. However, it would take time for them to arrive here.

Due to this, the outskirts of the eastern section suffered, and the lives of many people were lost.

The monsters continued their hunt, but Oliver was no longer there. He vanished out of thin air, leaving behind the destruction.
