"GODFALL"
Just this single word caused Louis and his whole guard team panic. It is a place spoken in a hushed voice. It was a place of nightmares, where even the bravest warriors feared to venture.
Luis didn't want to enter this cursed place. However, now he had no choice but to enter this forest. It was like him being on the horns of a dilemma.
He had to choose between two equally unpleasant alternatives. If he didn't enter the godfall, he would be captured and killed by those kano bastards. If he did enter, there would at least be a slim, very slim chance of survival.
"Your Highness!" One of his most trusted guards, Khazak, shouted, his voice trembling with fear. "We're heading straight into Godfall! Do we really need to go further?"
Listening to the fear in Khazak voice, Luis hesitated but still gritted his teeth and said, "Enter, we must enter."
Taking a deep breath to calm down, he continued, "If we stop now, we are finished. Those Kano bastards will definitely catch us."
"I AM CROWN PRINCE LUIS OF AZOV. I WILL RATHER DIE IN THIS GODFALL, THEN FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THOSE KANO BASTARDS."
Although he shouted to motivate his guard, his heart was filled with helplessness and fear.
He really didn't want to die in the hands of those bastards. They have taken away everything from him—his father, mother, brothers, and his kingdom. Now he didn't want to lose his life in their hands.
'Those bastards,' Luis muttered under his breath. 'I swear, if I survive this, I'll make them pay.'
Khazak, his most loyal guard, was beside him with a pale face, his breath coming in gasps. He knew it was not the time for him to waver. He should support the prince's decisions.
"Your Highness, we'll follow you," Khazak declared, his voice steady despite the fear in his eyes. "Even inside the Godfall."
Luis felt relieved when he heard the assurance. He was afraid at this moment even his loyal guards would betray him.
His guards were fewer, their numbers reduced to mere hundreds. But they were loyal, willing to follow him to the ends of the earth, though Godfall might be close to the end of the earth they might ever come.
Together, they ventured deeper into the Godfall. It was filled with fog, and strange-looking twisted trees gave them deep phycological fear.
The guards were moving in silence, and the horse was treading the path cautiously.
There were no sounds of birds and insects chirping in the forest. The only things he could hear were his heartbeat and guards ragged breath.
Luis was holding back tears as he walked. He, a crown prince of a kingdom who will inherit the throne in the future, was now reduced to a lost dog. He was running and escaping everywhere.
'Those bastards,' Luis muttered under his breath. 'I swear, if I survive this, I'll make them pay.'
And now, the weight of this place pressed down on him. Was it really a good decision to enter this place?
The psychological fear was overwhelming. Stories of Godfall echoed in his mind—tales of gods who had met their death here, cursed to wander the land forever.
'At least those Kano bastards wouldn't dare enter this cursed land.'
Luis was just looking over his soldier and was hoping that there would be no evil things in this Godfall.
But it was the devil's call. The horses began to act up, their instinctive fear pushing them to flee. Luis struggled to keep his own mount under control, feeling the animal's growing panic.
"Yo..You, Your Highness," a guard at the front count helped but shouted nervously. His hands were pointing in a direction.
He stammered, his voice becoming tight with fear. "L-lo-look!"
Luis felt uneasy, and his gaze followed the guard's hand. His heart started beating with high speed when he saw the sight.
He saw a huge silhouette in the distance. His eyes strained to see what was that thing. Then, as the huge silhouette started moving, the ground below them began to tremble.
Thud... Thud... Thud.
The noise grew louder, with the source shaking the trees around them. Luis heart pounded as he tried to make out what it was.
Then he saw it through the thick canopy of trees. It came into view.
It was a huge giant. No, it couldn't be a giant; giants can never be this big.
It was an unimaginable size, towering into the sky like a massive pillar. Its legs stretched into the clouds. It was indescribable, unlike anything Luis had ever seen.
'Shit, what is that? It can't be real.' His mind stopped working properly.
'This must be a nightmare.'
When the silhouette became visible, the guards around him also stood motionless. Their hearts caught in their throats.
Their faces turned pale; some fainted from fear; others dropped to their knees, unable to withstand the terror of the giant's presence.
The air around felt like it was growing heavier as time passed.
"Highness, highness that must be god." One guard beside him couldn't help but shout, "That must be God. We are doomed."
Luis clenched his teeth, trying to control his panic. His mind raced, searching for some way to escape this hellish nightmare, but there was none. This wasn't a nightmare. It was a reality.
He felt like he was standing in the shadow of God, and there was no escaping it.
The giant moved slowly, as if it were watching something. Its legs turned here and there. The giant started walking slowly, with each step causing the ground to shake.
Luis felt a shockwave below his feet, with each one shaking him to the core. Looking at the giant, he dares not breathe too loudly, afraid that any breath might catch its attention.
"We are nothing to it."
"We're nothing to it." Khazak whispered, despair etched on his face, and kept repeating. "We're nothing to it."
Listening to Khazak, Luis felt a wave of helplessness; they really couldn't do anything.
'This giant might trample us without even noticing us.'

Outside godfall, the Kano kingdom's army arrived. The sound of galloping horses echoed through the air. Fifty thousand Kano soldiers arrived at the cursed land's edge.
All movement ceased as the horses snorted and stamped nervously, as if sensing the danger that lay ahead.
A DANGER SO GREAT THAT IT MIGHT DETROY THEIR KINGDOM
