White Blade Jade Spider

The full moon hung in the sky like a silver disc.

The warriors quietly honed their skills. Mo Yanyu's delicate figure was hidden among the branches of an ancient tree, her breathing steady. Karu leaned against another tree, engrossed in a toxicology tome, while the drug slaves lay haphazardly on the wet ground behind the Earth Dragon.

Shi Yan awakened from his cultivation and began silently observing the terrain, making calculations in his mind.

Mo Yanyu was at the front of the group, Karu at the rear, with Shi Yan caught between them. Though they seemed indifferent to him, their positions clearly indicated they were guarding against him.

Johnson appeared to anticipate his unruly intentions. He hadn't cultivated that night and instead kept a close watch from ten meters behind Shi Yan. If Shi Yan made the slightest move, Johnson would detect it immediately and intervene.

Not good, Shi Yan muttered to himself, continuing to wait for the moment when their vigilance would wane.

Time slipped by unnoticed, and soon the moon began to set, signaling that dawn was near. Shi Yan had yet to find an opportunity to escape, and anxiety crept into his heart. After a moment of hesitation, he decided to act.

"Crack! Crack, crack!"

At that moment, an unusual sound echoed from a distance, indicating that something was slowly approaching.

Shi Yan's eyes brightened, his spirits lifted as he circulated his energy through his arms.

"Everyone, be on guard!" Mo Yanyu's soft command echoed as she stood on the ancient tree, gazing into the distance. Suddenly, she exclaimed, "White-bladed jade spiders!"

The warriors jolted awake from their meditation.

Their faces were grim as they drew their weapons. Without waiting for Mo Yanyu's further orders, they quickly gathered around the Earth Dragon, forming a protective circle with a distance of five to six meters between them.

Karu set aside his book and approached the Earth Dragon, frowning. "Keep an eye on the medicine jars on the Earth Dragon!" he ordered.

"Yes!" the warriors responded loudly.

The drug slaves, who had been asleep, awoke in a panic. Hearing that white-bladed jade spiders were approaching, they fearfully gathered around the Earth Dragon, fully aware of the spiders' deadly nature.

A set of keys flew from Mo Yanyu's hand, landing at Johnson's feet. "Johnson, unlock all the shackles on the drug slaves. We can't have them all slaughtered by the spiders. Hurry!" she urged.

Johnson picked up the keys, glanced at Mo Yanyu, and pointed at Shi Yan. "Should I unlock his shackles too?"

"Unlock him. I don't want him to die too easily," Mo Yanyu replied impatiently.

"Boy, you'd better behave. I'll be watching you closely!" Johnson snorted coldly as he first freed Shi Yan's hands and feet before moving on to the other drug slaves, skillfully unlocking their restraints.

Heaven helps me! With his shackles removed, Shi Yan felt a wave of relief wash over him, and a cold smile played on his lips.

The Shi family was known as a clan of Martial Souls. Although the original owner of this body hadn't become a warrior, he had a penchant for adventure and seeking out ancient ruins. He was no stranger to all sorts of demonic beasts. When Mo Yanyu mentioned the white-bladed jade spiders, Shi Yan wasn't frightened but instead felt a surge of joy, realizing this might be his chance to escape.

The white-bladed jade spider was a second-level demonic beast with eight legs as sharp as blades. These nocturnal, pack-dwelling creatures typically appeared in groups of five or six. Vicious by nature, they delighted in devouring humans. In the dark forest, they would never let a human escape once spotted.

These demonic beasts had tough hides, moved swiftly, and were often much larger than humans. Unless faced with a powerful warrior, an ordinary person would likely be killed or injured upon encountering one. Despite being only a second-level beast, the white-bladed jade spider was exceptionally dangerous due to its speed and numbers, making it a formidable adversary.

Encountering white-bladed jade spiders in the dark forest was pure bad luck. They carried no valuable materials, yet they were highly aggressive. With their swift and stealthy movements, these spiders would never pass up a chance to attack humans, retreating only after inflicting significant harm.

Shi Yan silently moved toward the Earth Dragon, blending in with the frightened drug slaves while discreetly observing the situation, refraining from acting hastily.

"Not good! There are eight of them!"

Mo Yanyu exclaimed from atop the ancient tree, her brows furrowed, her face solemn. "They're tough to deal with. Everyone, stay alert! Remember, do not pursue them after engaging. The thicker the foliage, the more advantageous it is for the white-bladed jade spiders. Avoid fighting them in the bushes at all costs!"

"Crack, crack, crack!"

The sound of blade-like legs sinking into the earth grew closer. Soon, two white-bladed jade spiders, each ten meters long and about one and a half meters tall, appeared. Their bodies were snow-white, the size of an average car, with eight legs resembling sharp knives, gleaming ominously.

With swift, deft movements, the white-bladed jade spiders advanced, their blade-like legs cutting through the air. In an instant, they reached the group. The cold, bright glint of their legs was terrifying, and one could easily imagine the gruesome fate that would befall anyone slashed by those sharp blades.

The warriors, seeing the white-bladed jade spiders appear one after another, grew more serious. Mo Yanyu had already descended from the ancient tree, standing at the front of the group. Her slender fingers crackled with lightning, ready to strike. Karu sat inside a sedan on the Earth Dragon, his gaze cold but showing no sign of panic.

The eight white-bladed jade spiders finally gathered. They weren't mindless creatures but rather showed a surprising level of intelligence, spreading out to encircle the Earth Dragon like eight cars revolving around it.

With a piercing shriek, the eight white-bladed jade spiders attacked simultaneously. Their gleaming legs slashed through the air, sending waves of silver light hurtling toward the warriors surrounding the Earth Dragon.

Suddenly, the battlefield erupted into chaos!

The white-bladed jade spiders swarmed around the Earth Dragon, their legs raining down like blades. The warriors dodged skillfully, striking back with their weapons aimed at the spiders' abdomens and compound eyes.

The scene descended into turmoil!

The white-bladed jade spiders' legs descended like blades, while the warriors dodged left and right, their weapons flashing as they counterattacked. Mo Yanyu's Martial Soul flared to life, lightning entwined around her hands as arcs of blue electricity shot forth, striking the spiders and causing them to shudder.

"Ahhh!"

One warrior, unable to react in time, was slashed across the chest by a spider's leg. His scream of agony echoed as his intestines spilled from his abdomen, and he collapsed to the ground.

The drug slaves, overwhelmed with fear, scrambled to hide under the Earth Dragon. A few, driven mad with terror, tried to escape through the gaps between the spiders but were mercilessly pinned to the ground by the spiders' legs, dying instantly.

Shi Yan, his face grim, moved quietly behind the warriors, the chains that had recently bound him clinking softly as he maneuvered.

"Slash!"

A warrior directly in front of Shi Yan, a member of the Mo family's Houtian Second Sky, collided with another warrior during the melee. Unable to dodge in time, his neck was slashed by a spider's leg, sending his head flying, splattering Shi Yan with blood.

Drenched in blood, his vision blurred, Shi Yan felt a violent, bloodthirsty urge rise within him. The cyclones in his 720 acupuncture points spun wildly, drawing a strong suction force from within his body.

The headless warrior's body gradually shriveled as strands of energy, filled with despair, resentment, and madness, flowed into Shi Yan through his pores, traveling along his meridians and entering the 720 acupuncture points within him.

For a brief moment, Shi Yan felt as though he was back in the Blood Pool, where his acupuncture points had absorbed a great deal of blood, altering them and forming cyclones that expanded their capacity and increased the speed at which they absorbed blood.

Now, these strands of energy, tinged with the dying warrior's despair and anger, followed the same path into his body, quickly filling his acupuncture points. The cyclones within him whirled frantically, as if consuming and digesting the absorbed energy, a process both strange and terrifying.

In just a few short seconds, the energy flow ceased, and the headless warrior before him was nothing more than a desiccated corpse, as if all his essence and life force had vanished, leaving him looking like a dried-out husk.

A surge of bloodlust and violence erupted from Shi Yan's heart. The cyclones in his acupuncture points spun wildly, nurturing dark, malevolent forces that seemed to urge him to unleash a massacre.

"Swish, swish!"

A spider's leg slashed toward Shi Yan's head. Startled, Shi Yan forcibly suppressed his bloodthirsty impulses and shifted sideways toward another warrior, narrowly avoiding a lethal blow.

"Stab!"

That warrior, blocked by a white-bladed jade spider, plunged his weapon into the spider's compound eye. The spider, blinded, lashed out in pain, its leg cleaving the warrior in two, leaving him dead on the spot.

Shi Yan, having moved beside the fallen warrior, prepared to seek out a safer area when he noticed a sudden change.
