chap 3 scene 2

The bartender passed him the drink as he drank the whole thing in one shot and headed

outside. He could hear the muffled music from inside the bar as he took out his first phone from

his pocket while tapping his foot to the beat of the music. He then booked a cab and put his

phone back in his pockets.

'What does he want from me?' Light thought to himself as he took out a cigarette and lighted

using a lighter that he took out from his pocket and started smoking it .

'Job? What kind? Hope it's spy related.' Light thought to himself as he waited for the cab.

'Lemme call Terror and ask him,' Light said to himself as he took out his second phone and

dialed Terror's number.

He waited for Terror to pick up. As soon as Terror picked up he asked 'What do I have to do?

What is the job?'

'Calm down Light, it's not something too difficult.' said Terror from the other side of the phone

'As long as you are literate enough, you should be fine.'

'Ok, is it related to spying?' asked Light.

'Well, kinda.' said Terror.

'Then, what is it?' asked Light.

'Well, I'm not really in a good position to tell you about it, just come to London, then we'll talk,

you know.' said Terror.

'Ok, thanks bye.' said Light as his cab pulled up in front of him and he cut the call.

He got in the cab and stared out the window as the driver started the car and went towards the

hotel. As the car passed through the tall skyscrapers and reached the hotel, he opened the door

and got out of the cab, he then paid the fare to the driver and headed inside the hotel.

It was brightly lit with yellow lights and the reception table was on the left side and a few sofas

were on the opposite side of the table.

He went to the receptionist and said 'I would like to check out right now.'

'Ok, sir, look inside the room in case of any remaining belongings and submit the keys here.'

said the receptionist.

'Alright.' said Light as he went to the elevator and called it. Once it arrived, the smooth doors of

the shining elevator opened and he entered it. He leaned against the mirror and pressed the

button "4" gave a deep sigh. 'This life debt' said Light to himself as the elevator came to a stop

and the doors opened. 'Is really stressful.'said Light as he exited the lift and went to his room.

He took out the keys from his pocket and put in the keyhole and entered the room. He saw the

tickets lying on the table beside his bed. He went and picked them up and checked them

thoroughly. He quickly put the tickets in the bag that was kept on the bed and he wore the

backpack and headed out of the room while locking the doors and got on the elevator.

Soon he was in the main lobby; he went to the receptionist and said 'Here are the keys, and I'm

leaving right now.' whale passing the keys to her and heading towards the main exit. He opened

the glass door as he saw his cab parked in front of it.

He approached it and said 'Take me to West Foster Avenue near the Branch Church.'

'Ok, hop in.' said the driver as Light entered the cab and the driver started the car and took off towards Light's house.

'So, sir, where are you going from the airport?' asked the driver.

'I'm going to London for some work,' said Light.

'What work sir?' asked the driver.

Light didn't reply, he was thinking about an excuse.

'What work do you have, sir?' asked the driver again.

'Umm, yeah, I, I, actually, I am an entrepreneur for a company in London.

'Entrepreneur,' said the driver in a surprised tone. 'Nice job by the way.'

'Yeah, thanks.' said Light as he stared out the window.

'Sir, what is your good name?' asked the driver

'Oliver Brown' said Light.

'Ok sir, nice to meet you, I'm Noah Wilson.' said the driver.

'Nice to meet you too.' said Light as he glanced outside towards the towering skyscrapers and spotted a huge mall. He didn't really recognize the building but he did recognize the outside  area of it. Collins and Whititker!

'That mission, Collins and Whitiker, cost me my previous life, I was saved by Terror, the life debt. A debt that I can never recover from.' Light thought to himself.

'They have turned it into a mall now, thankfully, it won't remind of that moment.' he thought to himself as he reme, bred the bomb blast, the immeasurable and excruciating pain, the feeling of death. He could never forget that memory. Every single time he remembered it, a shiver ran down his spine.

'Shit,' he said to himself.

'Sir, what happened?' asked the driver, he had heard his voice!

'Nothing, keep driving.' said Light as gave a deep sigh and leant back comfortably on the seat and still looked out the window. As soon as he looked out, the cab took a sharp turn. He could see the narrow West Foster Avenue and the Branch Church situated a hundred meters away on the right side. The drive continued through the avenue until they reached the Church and the driver slammed the brakes.

'Sir, we're here.' said the driver.

Light gave a quick gasp on hearing his voice. He was lost in his own thoughts and was trying to remember the Collins and Whitiker incident but only one name came to mind: "Terror".

Light came back to reality and took out his wallet, he took out what seemed like 10 dollars and paid it to the driver.

'Thank you sir.' said the driver as Light opened the door of the cab and got out, he crossed the road and approached a two storey house. He took out a bunch of keys from his pocket and unlocked the door with one of the keys. As he entered, he kept the tickets on the tea table in the Living room. At this point, the driver had gone off.

He headed to the entrance of the airport

and got in the queue; after a few minutes, he reached the guards and showed them his I.D. He

entered the airport and put up his bag for security check in.

As the bag passed through the machine, the guard called Light and asked ' what is this small

metallic device?'

'Nothing, it's just a small microphone,' said Light.

'Ok, you're good to go.' said the guard as Light picked up his suitcase and gave it to the

baggage check-in and got his boarding passes. He moved on to remove all metallic objects

from his body and put them in a tray and his backpack to also be checked by security as he

himself got checked thoroughly by the guard doing the check-ins. He then picked up his

backpack and acquired his watch, belt and his two phones back. Soon, he boarded the plane

and took a seat in 13I. He looked out the window as the plane took off soon—

—–----------------------------

Light had reached the London airport. It was bigger and cleaner. The air of busy London entered his mind. He was ready to meet Terror after so many years. He tried to reach Terror through a phone call but he got no answer. Suddenly, a hand fell on Light's shoulder. Light took a step back and turned to find himself face-to-face with Terror.

"Got you! Oh! 'The Spy' got defeated by a petty human like me." Terror said with a smirk on his face.

Light saw Terror after 8 years, he was dressed in all black; he was around 6 feet tall. He had medium length hair coming up to his ears. He had disciplined, combed and straight black hair. Absolutely dressed like a leader with a slight smile on his face.

Light replied, 'Human! You are no human. You use your magic to sneak on me. Not fair.'

Terror took light to his black Bentley.

" Nice car . Who gifted it?" Light asked.

" I bought it with my own money. As a project head, obviously SCREAM pays me a lot." Terror answered.

Terror ignited his car. While driving Light tried to dig out information from Terror, but he did not tell anything to Light. Light had many question in his head. The questions just swirled in his mind, just like a storm. The road was smooth and greenery was visible both side of the road. The journey was of fifteen minutes. Soon, the SCREAM headquarters came into view, the four - story building standing proudly in the busy town of London.

Terror led Light through a flight of stairs into an office, where a man was sitting in a turning chair, facing the wall. It was Despair. As soon as Despair heard the opening of the door, he threw his cigarette away, hoping not to get caught.

" Caught you smoking in a non-smoking zone ," Terror said, a frown on his face.

'See , it's not like you see it.' Despair replied.

'You mean you were not smoking?' Terror asked.

'Nah, I was just burning incense sticks,' Despair said as he stood up.

'So you were smoking incense sticks as drugs,' said Terror.

'No, no, I Was actually smoking, it's better than incense sticks.

"So Despair has not changed a bit since I last saw him. He has been that much naughty ever since." Light said.  'D'you remember that time when you were about to burn incense sticks at the wrong time.'

'Oh yeah, I do remember that.' said Despair.

Light was standing on the footpath beside the busy streets of London, he was standing below a towering 14 storey building lathered with a pearly white color. The loud horns of cars, the chattering of college students, the shouts of children coming from the nearby park and the ringing of bells from the bicycles. He was wearing casual clothes and had a backpack with him. He was on a phone call with Despair. They were on a mission to stop the assassination of an important public figure: Archie Evans, better known as Mrs. Evans.

'Despair, are you ready? Enter through the main entrance and distract the guards, I'm climbing up this building and going to the terrace. I've had info about our target, the party is going on on the 14th floor. I'll enter from the terrace, do not allow any guards to go up there. I'm gonna make a bodyguard unconscious and steal his uniform and I.D, I will stick my picture on top of the bodyguard's' said Light.

'Light, don't worry, I'm ready. I'll purposefully keep my I.D card hidden in my bag so that I can easily distract them while you climb. While they look in my bag for security and the I.D card, you climb up the building,' said Despair.

'Yeah, don't be too obvious though, Wagdoth.' said Light.

'That's my name I guess, I haven't checked my I.D you know. I'm gonna blast a smoke bomb nearby to distract the rest of the bodyguards around the building.' said Despair as he hung up.

Light waited for the blast as Despair, who was standing inside the park with a black duffel bag mounted on his shoulders. He pocketed his phone and started off towards the exit of the park. He exited the park and suddenly, a woman of thin figure and blond hair and wrinkly skin.

'Umm, excuse me but, what do you have in this bag?' asked the woman. 'Coming out of a park with a bag, do you have a bomb in there or stolen cash?'

Despair's smile faded from his face and turned into a frown 'It's actually the drugs that you use every day.' said Despair.

'How do you know that?' asked the woman.

'It's visible on your face, mind your own business, Karen.' said Despair as he walked past her and left her behind. He took a right turn towards the back of the park. He walked forwards towards a nearby tree and took out the smoke bomb and placed it beside the tree and set up a timer of 1 minute. He mounted the bag back on his shoulder and headed off towards the main entrance of the building. Light had positioned himself across the street and in front of the main entrance. He was leaning on a wall with a book in his hands and was pretending to read it. As soon as Despair started crossing the road, he looked towards Light and Light looked up towards Despair. Light winked at Despair and he smirked back at Light.

Despair again looked forward and crossed the road. He then walked up to the main entrance and proceeded to enter the building but it was protected by two guards.

As soon as he approached the entrance one of the guards asked 'What is your purpose here?'

'I am a client, I have an appointment in there.' said Despair.

'Show me your I-' said a guard but suddenly, BOOM! The sound of a bomb exploding. all of them looked outside towards the tree and saw that smoke was coming out of it.

'I suppose you two should go and check it out,' said Despair.

'Nah, don't try to trick us, show me your I.D.' said the guard.

'It's in my bag.' said Despair as he kept the duffel bag on the ground and squatted and started looking for his I.D.

All the other guards located outside the building ran towards the blast along with some civilians. Light saw this opportunity and ran for it. He ran across the road and passed Despair and headed towards the right side of the building. He reached the end and made a sharp left turn to face the narrow alley in between two buildings. He ran again and this time, he jumped towards his right side and grabbed a water pipeline. He then looked towards his left and jumped. He successfully grabbed the sun blocker above the first window. He climbed up on it with much effort and kept his backpack on the ground.

He then took out a yellow colored rope from it which had a hook on its end. He picked it up and looked up, he was ready to throw it up in the air. He swung it around in the air before throwing it high up in the air. Luckily, it went straight up and went between the railing on the terrace, it hooked itself over there and provided strong support to the rope.

'I'm ready.' said Light as he grabbed the rope and pulled his body upwards and placed his foot on the wall in front of him to ease the climbing. He gave a deep sigh and let go of the rope with one hand. He wiped the sweat off of his face and grabbed the rope again and started climbing.

Meanwhile; Despair was still looking in his bag for his I.D

'I remember I had kept it in my bag.' said Despair.

'Why is it so hidden? Are you a guest on the 14th floor?' asked a guard.

'As a matter of fact, I am.' said Despair.

'Well, then give me your I.D in 5…' said the guard and Despair vigorously started looking for it.

'4…3…2…1…' said the guard.

'Found it!' exclaimed Despair as he took out the I.D card and some other stuff also came out flying with the card.

One of the guards took a closer look at it while scrunching his eyes and said 'Looks real to me.'

'Alright, you're free to go.' said the other guard.

'Told ya I was a special guest on the 14th floor.' sad Despair as he headed inside and up the flight of stairs.

Light had almost reached the terrace  but he heard all the conversation between Despair through the earphones mounted on their ears.

'Oh hell, these guys are making me climb 14 storey tall buildings at this age,' said Light.

'Actually, your mic is on and about your statement, you walk on three legs.' said Despair.

'Your task was so easy, you just needed to plant a smoke bomb. But I have to climb a fucking skyscraper.' said Light

'Yeah, sure, it's not your cup of tea to plant a smoke bomb while negotiating with a lady on drugs. And about you climbing a skyscraper, there are none in London.' said Despair.

'And it's not your cup of tea to go on a trespassing property while not being spotted by 10 to 14 bodyguards.' said Light.

'There is no need for me to be sneaky like you, 'cause if I had to break in, none of the bodyguards would be standing right now. It's an all out attack baby.' said Despair.

'Ok, getting back to my job, just at the top.' said Light.

He had reached the terrace and had grabbed the top of the railing and with all his power, he climbed on top of it. He jumped down onto the terrace and saw a small shed in the middle of it, leading downstairs.

He approached the shed and opened the brown, metallic door. He swiftly but sneakily went down the flight of stairs so as to not make a single noise. He reached the end of the stairs which was also blocked by a royal looking wooden door. He tried to open it but it was locked. He could hear faint sounds of music from the other side of the door. He focused harder and heard speech. Someone was speaking behind the door.

'If I make some noise and somehow get the guard to come here and open the door, I can knock him unconscious.' he thought to himself.

'How do I do it?' he asked himself. He was thinking deeply and was lost in his mind but, only one word: "Despair"

He thought about it even more until finally 'Ah, I got it, I just gotta think like Despair.' said Light as he closed his eyes and went into deep thinking. He suddenly opened his eyes and said 'I got it.'

He tightened his fist and looked at it, then he glanced at the door. He glanced back at his fist and again at the door.

He let out a gasp and said 'Well, I got this.' he said as he curled his fist, made an arch and was ready to punch. He didn't wait even a moment before punching the door harder than he had ever before. The door vibrated all over as soon as Light's hand hit it.

He hadn't felt this much pain since the Collins and Whitiker incident. He quickly started shaking his fist and said 'Ah, fuck fuck fuck, I fucked up.' while looking back towards the terrace door.

'Fuck, I gotta go back.' said Light as he started up the stairs. Soon, he heard the clanking of a bunch of keys from behind the door. He quickly sped up and reached the terrace, he went off to the right side of the shed and hid beside the door, hoping that the Guard would come up here. He took a quick look.

He could hear the door opening and after a few moments again, closing with a slam.

'Who's up there?' yelled the guard who had come out of the door.

Light didn't respond but stood there patiently. He could hear the footsteps of the guard approaching as he cooked up a plan in his brain. He looked towards the ground as the footsteps came closer.

He took a deep breath as he saw the black shoes of the guard coming on to the terrace. As soon as he saw that. He turned around and swiftly shifted his body in front of the bodyguard. The bodyguard let out a slight gasp as his eyes were wide open and full of surprise.

Light grabbed the collar of the dumbfounded bodyguard and grabbed his shoulder with his other hand. He turned him around from the shoulder as his hand swiftly slid on the tracks of the collar as the man turned around. He grabbed the back of the guard's collar and pulled the guard towards himself and turned him towards the left side and faced the hard, metallic door. He then pushed the guard towards the door. The guard completely fell limp as the right side of his forehead hit the door and his body went fully limp and he became unconscious.

'Holy shit Despair, I did it!.' said Light through the microphone.

'Your task isn't as hard as climbing 14 storeys using stairs.' said Despair while panting. He was still climbing the stairs.

'Alright Wagdoth, wait at the 13th floor till I tell you to come. I am dressing up as a guard to let you in on the 14th floor.' said Light.

'Ok, I'll wait,' said Despair.

Light dismounted his backpack from his back and put it on the ground. He opened the chain and took out a long strip of white cloth, some duct tape and two ropes.

He tied the guard's mouth with the cloth and again covered it with the duct tape. He then tied the guard's hands and legs together, took the keys from him and undressed his shirt, pants,  and most importantly, his I.D card.

He dressed himself up in the uniform and hung the I.D card around his neck. He slipped out an image of himself from his pocket and a glue stick from his bag. He applied the glue on his picture and pasted it on top of the Guard's picture.

'So, Nasif's my new name I guess.' said Light as he headed downstairs towards the wooden door as he pushed it open.

The room on the other side of the door was big and rectangular. Filled with flashing lights and loud music.  There were couches all around the edges of the room and the center was empty and lacked furniture. There were around 7 waiters who were bringing drinks and snacks to the guests. Most of the people in that room were dancing to the music in the central part. Some were having drinks and talking while sitting on the couch. Meanwhile; the chief guest: Archie Evans, was talking to a person in the corner of the room. Light walked forwards towards the crowd and sneakily went past it while avoiding everyone. As he reached the end of the crowd, he saw that the main entrance, that is from the stairs to the 14th floor, was guarded by a security guard. He had a feeling this would happen.

'If Despair comes right now, the guard won't let him enter, I gotta take the matter into my own hands.' said Light as he walked towards the main entrance and as he was going, he said 'Despair, come now.'

He reached the main entrance and stood on the opposite side of the guard.

'Hey, I saw you've been on duty for a long time, why don't you take some rest, get some drinks or something like that?' asked Light to the other guard as a desperate attempt to get him away from the main entrance. The entrance was dark and they barely could see each other's faces.

'What? I just now came on duty,' said the guard as he looked towards his watch. 'Five minutes to be exact.'

'What?' said Light as he scrunched his eyes and pretended to look at the guard's face even more closely.

'Oh, sorry, I mistook you for the previous guard, it's so dark in here you know.' said Light.

The guard nodded as he moved his attention away from Light and towards the main entrance.

Light could again hear footsteps approaching, Despair! He waited patiently without any reaction to the footsteps as Despair came up from the stairs and attempted to directly enter the room.

'Wait. wait. Wait.' said Light as he blocked Despair from going inside.

'What are you doing?' asked Despair.

'Sir, show me your I.D.' said Light.

Despair grabbed the I.D that hung from his neck and shoved it in front of Light's face.

'Ok, Mr. Wagdoth. Am I right?' asked Light.

Despair nodded with a slight smile.

'Wait, your name is not registered in the client list, I've never seen you, I think you're at the wrong address,' said the other guard.

'Nor have I.' said Despair as he walked inside the room.

'Why did you let him go in?' asked the other guard.

'I had talked with Mrs. Evans had told me that a special client named Wagdoth would come to meet her, but he is not in the client list,' said Light.

'Ok, I get it now,' said the other guard.

Light quickly looked towards his watch and said 'It's time, I gotta go, Mrs. Evan is waiting for me.' said Light as he left the main entrance and headed back inside the room.

He spotted Despair in the middle of the crowd and increased his pace. He quickly reached Despair as he put his hand on his shoulder.

'Hey, Wagdoth.' Light said with a whisper.

'What is it?' asked Despair.

'Sit on the couches, they're for clients who are waiting. Archie Evans will go to a meeting after 10 minutes. I'm gonna knock out the client so that you can get your turn faster.' said Light.

'As you wish, sire.' said Despair as he went and sat on one of the couches.

Light again went out of the crowd and approached Mrs. Evans. She was a tall woman and had a stocky body despite being tall. She had blonde hair which were like curtains on her head and they came up to her shoulders. She was talking to a man of similar figure, about something related to funds.

Suddenly, Mrs. Evans felt a nudge on her shoulder, she swiftly turned around and saw that a waiter was waiting for her with three glasses filled to the brim with a drink, on a tray.

'Oh, may we take that ple-' said Mrs. Evans while almost grabbing both the glasses but was interrupted by Light.

'No, no, no. Ma'am wait.' said Light as he grabbed the two glasses on the front. As soon as he lifted the glasses, he felt that the one on his left hand is a bit heavier than the one on his right hand.

'There must be something mixed in with the drink.' Light thought to himself.

He passed the drink in his right hand to Mrs. Evans as the other person took the other glass.

Light soon looked towards the waiter and made eye contact with him. He had a furious expression worn across his face.

'I'll be right back.' said Light as he headed towards the washroom with his drink. The waiter forced a smile on his face and went back to the bar.

Light entered the washroom and closed the door. He made sure no one was present in the washroom. He checked all the stalls and saw that no one was there. He secretly dumped his whole drink in one of the urinals. He then went back to the room and approached Mrs. Evans.

'You drank it?' asked Mrs. Evans.

'I did,' said Light. Suddenly, another person came trotting towards them.

'Ma'am, a client is waiting for you in the meeting room.' said that person.

'Oh are they? Who is it?' asked Mrs. Evans.

'Jason Bell.' said that person.

'Alright.' said Mrs. Evans as she headed off towards the exit followed by Light and another guard.

They all exited the room through the main entrance and saw another door in front of them. They all approached the door as Light opened it and Mrs Evans entered the room but the other guard stayed outside. It was a rectangular room and there was a long table in the middle of it and two chairs on both sides and a door on the other end leading to the washroom. The table was filled with pen stands which contained various accessories like correction pens, highlighters, pens etc. Jason Bell was a middle aged man with sleek black hair and was wearing all black.

'Hello Mr. Bell, what is your purpose here?' asked Mrs. Evans.

'I am here to offer you a contract,' said Mr Jason as he took out a piece of paper from his coat.

'What is this contract about?' asked Mrs. Evans.

'If you work for our company, I'll give you 50% equity.' said Mr Bell.

'Do you need any money?' asked Mrs. Evans.

'No, you're enough.' said Mr. Bell.

'I'll think about it, lemme get some water first.' waid Mrs Evans as she got up and went out of the room to get water.

Light stood by the door and looked towards Mr. Bell. They both made eye contact and Mr Bell said 'How is your day going?'

'Fine, but I don't think yours is gonna go too well.' said Light.

'What?' questioned Mr Bell but Light swiftly rushed towards Mr Bell and grabbed his oiled hair.

'What are you doing?' asked Mr Bell.

'Nothing too special.' said Light as he banged his head on the smooth wooden table.

'Ow, ow!' exclaimed Mr Bell.

Light Used his right hand to rotate the swivel chair towards himself and pulled Mr Bell off the chair and took him to the back wall. He pushed him towards the wall and the back of his head hit the wall as he spit out some saliva and went unconscious. Light was panting, he took a deep breath and let it go. He quickly went and grabbed Mr Bell by the shoulders and dragged him to the door leading to the washroom. He opened the door with one hand and took Mr Bell inside. Once there, he opened one of the stalls and put the body in there. He dusted his hands together and closed the stall. He went out of the washroom and locked the door again and went back to his spot.

After a few moments, Mrs Evans came in through the door while taking a sip of water. But as soon as she entered her jaw was left open.

'Hey,' said Mrs Evans while looking towards Light. She took a good look at his I.D card and asked 'Nasif, where did Mr Bell go?'

'That gentleman has already gone, can Mr Wagdoth enter the room now?,' asked Light.

'But, the contract, I didn't see him coming out of the meeting room.' said Mrs Evans.

'You also haven't seen what's coming for you.' said a familiar voice from the door.

Mrs Evans looked back towards the door to see Despair standing there.

'Umm, Mr Wagdoth?' asked Mrs Evans.

'Yup.' said Despair as he entered the room and went and sat on the client's chair.

Mrs Evans also took a seat on her chair and asked 'Why do you feel the need to come here?'

'I need funds,' said Despair.

'Ok, why should I give you the funds? WHat kind of business do you do?' asked Mrs Evans.

'I have a business for saving people.' said Despair.

'What? Mrs Evans asked. 'What does that mean? How much do you earn in a month?'

'Not much, I earn enough to buy this whole place.' said Despair while moving his finger in a circular pattern while facing the roof.

'So, why do you need the funds?' asked Mrs Evans.

'To maximize the saving of people's lives because I want to save the whole earth.

'I see, so-' said Mrs Evans as she heard someone clear their throat near the main entrance of the room.

She and Light glanced back and heard 'Excuse me.'

'You may come in,' said Mrs Evans.

As she said that, a young man with combed brown hair and a golden, royal looking watch on his wrist came inside the room.

'Oh, Mr Anderson! Come, take a seat, I'll finish talking with this client then I'll come to you.' said Mrs Evans.

Mr Anderson came inside and took a seat beside Despair.

'So, Mr Wagdoth, is this business related to ambulances, 'cause I cannot really understand what you mean by "saving people"' said Mrs Evans.

'So, We're actually he-' said Despair but he stopped, he was looking towards Mr Anderson. His right hand. He saw that he was secretly trying to take out a gun.

'What the hell are you trying to do!' yelled Despair as he grabbed Mr Anderson's right hand. Light saw this and rushed towards Despair and grabbed Mr Anderson's left hand.

'Let it go.' said Light is Despair let go of Mr Anderson's right hand and Light quickly grabbed it. Mr Anderson let go of the gun and it fell to the ground. Light held Mr Anderson's hands with his right hand felt around his back pocket. He felt a handcuff and took it out. He swiftly cuffed Mr Anderson's hands behind the chair.

'What is going on? Nasif?' asked Mrs Evans.

'There are assassins after you, your life is in danger. We are undercover agents from SCREAM inter-dimensional detective agency.' said Light as he took out his I.D from his pocket and showed it to Mrs Evans.

'Yeah, me too.' said Despair as he also took out his I.D and shoved it in front of Mrs Evan's face.

'What? How do you know that? How many people are after my life?' asked Mrs Evans.

Light said nothing but kept silent when suddenly, he heard loud footsteps coming towards the entrance door. As they reached the entrance, a worker rushed towards Mrs Evans with a knife in his hands, aiming at Despair.

Suddenly, a guard entered the room. Seeing the guard, Light produced out a USP from his pockets. The guard swiftly ducked down and made his slide towards Mr Anderson's gun. The guard picked up the gun, quickly aimed at Light and pulled the trigger. No bullets came out of the gun.

'You dumb person, do you think I am a fool to just leave such a thing loaded for an assassin.' Despair said , mocking at the guard.

Despair swiftly moved his head towards the right and dodged the incoming knife swing from the worker. He quickly slipped out a knife from his pocket and swung it towards the worker.

Meanwhile; Mrs Evans was terrified and was kneeling down below her desk, her hands over her head.

Light pulled the trigger while aiming towards the guard but he swiftly rolled away and Light missed the bullet. Light shot again but this time, his shot was inaccurate and it hit the ground. Light was about to shoot the third bullet when suddenly, the guard threw a hard punch towards Light's hand. The punch was so hard that the gun flew out of his hand and fell on the ground a few meters away. Now the guard and Light were faced with a hand to hand combat.

Despair had missed his swing by an inch but he didn't give up. He grabbed the worker  by his hair and slammed his head on the table. He slammed it once, twice, thrice! He kept slamming his head. He slammed his head more than 10 times before grabbing his hand and keeping it on the table. He then took his knife and stabbed the worker's hand and pinned it against the table. The worker groaned in pain before swinging his knife from behind his back towards Despair. It didn't quite reach Despair but it did cut his shirt a bit.

'Oh, you cut my expensive shirt, yeah, you guessed it right, its more expensive than your fucking life.' said Despair with a gloomy look on his face. He pulled out the knife from the worker's hand and tried to stab the back of his head. But, the worker swiftly rolled away. He got back up and swung his knife towards Despair's face.

Despair dodged the swing by swiftly moving back but the worker didn't complete the swing; instead, he swung back again which gave no reaction time to Despair. The knife came like a bullet but, Despair was no slower than sound. As soon as the knife got closer, he grabbed it by the blade. The knife slid in his fist while swiftly cutting his skin. Blood pooled out of his fistand dripped on the ground.

'Your blade is not sharp enough to pierce my body of steel.' said Despair as he twisted his hand and snapped the knife in two pieces. He used the broken piece of the blade in his hand and stabbed the worker in the shoulder and scratched his whole hand by pulling the piece of the blade. It tore the worker's shirt as blood came out of the cut.

Despair lifted up his leg and kicked the worker on the belly with all his force, The worker got pushed back and then fell to the ground. Despair picked up his knife that he kept on the table and rushed forwards towards the fallen worker. He swiftly squatted down on the ground and planted the knife in the worker's head with a big grin worn across his face. The worker's skull cracked, leading to the soft brain. The blade pierced the skin and the skull and went a few centimeters deep inside the brain. Blood splashed out of the worker's head and splashed on Despair's face. The worker had completely died. Despair, with much effort, tried to pull out the bloody knife but he couldn't take out the whole thing. He tried again but, this time, the knife snapped in half and the blade stayed inside the worker's head.

'Whoops, I guess your body is not made of steel.' said Despair as he got up and moved back. He threw himself down on the chair as it made a creak sound. He lifted one of his legs up on the other and sat comfortably in his chair as he watched Light and the guard fight.

'I wish someone could get me popcorn at this point and woah! What's that sweet smell?' he said to himself.

Meanwhile; Light was in hand to hand combat with the guard. Light threw an uppercut but the guard swiftly dodged the incoming attack by moving his head to the right. He then squatted down and kicked Light on his legs. Light completely lost his balance and fell towards the ground sideways but, him having experience in spying, knew how to deal with this situation. He quickly spread his palms out on the cold hard floor. He then pushed the rest of his body upwards and did a handstand. Light, standing on his hands and towering over the squatting guard, did  a backflip and landed smoothly on his feet. As soon as he did that, he saw an opportunity. His gun was in front of him. He quickly dived towards the ground and hit the hard floor but he successfully grabbed the gun. He pointed it towards the guard but the guard was already rushing towards him to take the gun. Light panicked and put his finger above the trigger and was about to pull it when suddenly, the guard grabbed his hand and twisted it. The gun was now pointing towards Light. He had a reaction time fast enough to realize that the gun was pointed towards him, so he didn't pull the trigger.

Light sat there dazzled as the guard took the opportunity and karate chopped Light's hand. Light didn't realize what was going on but he could only feel the pain of the attack. The pain was so excruciating. He let go of the gun and it fell to the ground.

'You lost, Nasif.' said the guard as he grabbed the gun and picked it up. He brought it near his nose and sniffed it all the way to the muzzle.

'Yeah, the smell of dea-' said the guard and gave a little cough.

'As I was saying, the-' said the guard as he gave another cough.

'Wait.' said the guard as he gave multiple coughs. He tried to speak again but he was interrupted by coughing. At this point, he couldn't do anything, he kept coughing while standing and it got so bad that he kneeled down. He kept coughing to the point that it was not even coughing, he was wheezing. He started coughing even more loudly as he lay down on the ground on his back and kept coughing and wheezing and threw his gun on the gun.

'What the hell, what is this smell doing to-' said Despair as he too started coughing.

'What the fuck?' said Light as he gave a cough. He quickly gave a quick sniffle and he smelt the sweet smell. As soon as he smelt it, he took out a handkerchief from his pocket and covered his nose and mouth. He got up from the ground and moved towards Despair.  He approached Despair and offered him a handkerchief.

'Cover you cover your mouth with this hankie, it will protect you from the smell.' came Light's muffled voice.

Despair picked up the handkerchief from Light's hand and covered his nose and mouth. At this point Mrs Evans had also started coughing.

'Mrs Evans, cover your face with your hand, it will prevent your coughing.' said Light

Mrs Evans slowly got out from under the table and stood up with her hand on her mouth and nose. 'Should we get out of here?' asked Mrs Evans.

'Yeah, Despair!' called Light but, as soon as he looked towards him, he saw terror. Despair had his cigarette in his hand and his lighter in the other and was about to light it. As soon as Light saw that, he jumped towards Despair and flung the lighter out of his hands. It flew away and landed beside the coughing guard.

'What are you doing!' yelled Light.

'Can't you see, I was smoking a cigarette.' said Despair.

'This smell is not perfume, it's highly flammable Liquid Petroleum Gas!' snapped Light.

'Oh, we shall go then.' said Despair.

'Yeah c'mon let's go.' said Light as he led the way to the exit and they exited the room. They all removed their handkerchiefs and hand from their faces and they headed down the stairs.

'I'm calling the police for your safety.' said Light as he took out his phone and called the police. After the tedious job of going down 14 storeys of stairs, they finally reached the ground floor. They could already hear the police sirens from there and see the red and blue flashing lights being reflected on the ground. They all climbed down the last stair as a few police officers came and immediately covered Mrs Evans and took her to the security van which was heading to the hospital. Light and Despair also got out and crossed the road and stood near the tree that Despair planted the smoke bomb near.

Despair took out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and took one out. He put the pack back in and put his hand inside his left pocket but there was nothing. He felt inside it but there was nothing.

'Yo Light, where's my lighter?' asked Despair.

'Wait a minute, wasn't the lighter in the room itself?' asked Light.

'Wait, wasn't the guard still alive?' asked Despair.

'Fuck,' said both of them togeether as "BOOM!" there was the sound of a deafening explosion which came from the building. They quickly glanced towards the building and saw that the left side of the building was completely in flames and completely obliterated. Debris was falling from the building to the ground, landing on cars and near the police officers.

'Shit, he blew up the whole ass building to hide the evidence, but, at least we saved Mrs Evans. The mission's over' said Light.

'Yeah, we banged that mission!' said Despair with a smile on his face.

'C'mon, now let's bang the bar.' said Light.

At Smith and Whistle bar;

Light took a shot of his drink and asked the bartender 'Can I get one more please.'

'Right on the way sir.' said the bartender.

Despair was completely drunk and he was drinking a whole can of beer. He finished the can in one go and said. 'Yo Light, wanna do a shotgun challenge?' asked Despair.

'Aight man.' said Light as Despair passed him a can of beer and kept one for himself.

'In 3…2…1…start!' shouted Despair as he slipped out the keys of his bike from his pocket and used it to puncture a hole in the can. He quickly opened the tab and put the hole in front of his mouth. He drank the beer as it came out but he kept spilling it everywhere.

Light on the other hand, put the can in his mouth and bit into the tin can. The beer bursted into his mouth but he was able to control the pressure as he chugged the whole can.

'I'm done!' said Despair and Light together.

'I won,' said Despair.

'Nah, I did.' snapped Light.

'Hey, bartender, did you see who won this challenge?' asked Despair as he faced the bartender.

'As a matter of fact, I did see you two and I can tell you for sure that you won by a fraction of a second.' said the bartender.

'Yeah! See, I told you I won.' said Despair.

'Next time.' said Light but, Despair didn't respond, he was looking at someone. A tall, taller than Despair, she had pale white skin, and a beautiful curvy body. She had long and silky back hair which reached up to the starting of her back. She was wearing a black dress and high heels and had worn bright red lip gloss.

'Hey, you see that lady over there?' asked Despair.

'Oh, so, you finally found someone who can strike you.' said Light.

'Yes, striked, striked right through my heart.' said Despair.

PRESENT TIME;

'And Despair, did you meet that young maiden again?' asked Light.

'Stop taunting me Light.' said Despair.

5. 'So, listen guys, I have just gotten important documents from the higher ups, this is what I found in them.' said Terror.

'What did you find?' asked Despair.

'So, Joe Levenston of grade 12 A is related to a secret organization known as "Dead Apple" which is operating inside the school "Mayleborne Academy".

'By the way, what is "Dead Apple"?' asked Light.

'Dead Apple, it is the rotten apple that your mother licked yesterday.' said Despair.

Terror grinded his teeth together and said 'Despair, when will you get serious.'

'It wasn't in the contract, was it?' said Despair.

'I'll just edit it today,' said Terror.

'So, what is the plan then?' asked Light.

'The plan is, we'll disguise ourselves as teachers and try to make Joe spew out the answers or the secrets,' said Terror. 'I will be disguised as the mathematics teacher, Despar, I will give you the task of being the English teacher and finally Light, you'll just be the General Awareness teacher, got it?' asked Terror.

'Yup,' said Despair.

'Terror, I have a brilliant plan, hear me out, I have a device which can stick itself to any surface and it can camouflage itself according to the background. It will stay up for 4 hours and it has a hidden microphone, a hidden camera and we can also track this device. After 4 hours it will get off of the surface and autodestruct itself-' said Light but was interrupted by Despair.

'With a bang!' said  Despair.

'No, it's silent, they won't even get a hint of us.' said Light.

'Yeah, I'll smoke the pressure away.' said Despair while acting like he was smoking.

'Despair, when will you become serious, you moron?!' asked Terror.

'Not in the SCREAM office,' said Despair.

'So, I guess, it is plantime,' said Light.

'Yeah it is match time!' shouted Despair. Terror and Light got up from their chairs and went out of the room. Suddenly, Despair's eyes went from the glamorous violet to a bright oceanic blue.

Despair gave a sigh and said 'Seriously, this sign of no-smoking zone sucks, I'll remove the "no" from it one day. I'm here due to a contract or something, otherwise, I would've been enjoying my life to the fullest!' yelled Despair.

'My freedom is two years away,' said Despair in a soft tone.

'And then, I'll be FREE! FREE!' yelled Despair.

Light on the other hand exited the room and instantly started thinking about the mission. 'Joe Levenston is just a child.' he thought to himself. 'What harm can he do to this world? Or can he even defeat me?' he thought to himself. But, what he didn't know was that Impending doom awaited them ahead.
